I would not recommend this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the service was extremely slow and the staff seemed uninterested and moved at a very relaxed pace despite the restaurant not being overly busy. The food took a very long time to come out, and when it finally arrived, it was disappointing. The chips were cold, the queso tasted like warmed-up Tostitos cheese dip rather than homemade queso, and the margaritas were mostly ice with very little flavor. Overall, the food quality, service, and wait times did not meet expectations. There are many better Mexican restaurants in the area, and unfortunately I would not return. read more

Food was average. Flavor was nothing to post or rave over. Seating was quick, but once served, no attention with empty glass. Will not have a second visit. read more

Can't give this place enough praise, everything is great, the food, the service, the authentic food, and a great price point! Please try it out! read more

Can't say I was impressed with any part of our experience. We had found a website that had all the food, the address and even a phone number that took us directly to the restaurant. All the prices were there also, so called in an order. Upon pickup, found all the prices were elevated. When asked about it and showing him the website, the owner only said that was not his website. We took our order home only to find the food was bland, tasted like beans from a can and little flavor in the meat. Not really sure how this place stays open. I will not be returning, and I suggest you take your money elsewhere. read more

The beef flautas and the barbacoa tacos were phenomenal! My waitress was very helpful and cordial. Family/group friendly. Prices were down to earth affordable . I will recommend this place to everyone. read more

Wasn't really sure what to expect when I first came in but I was pleasantly surprised. All the employees were really nice and the service was great. After being seated, they brought out complimentary chips and salsa (average tasting, wish the salsa was spicier but can't complain) and water while we looked over the menu. I was kind of wary but decided to order the Chile Relleno plate. You get a choice between flour and corn tortillas - I went with the flour. The wait for the food was reasonable and it tasted better than I expected. The portions were generous and they offered to refill the chips and bring more salsa if needed. A solid place for Mexican food in Casper. read more

I was greeted promptly and my Michalada made with Carta Blanca was here in no time. I ordered the Cacheta burrito w Mexican cheese and the beans in the side. Then smothered in a true chili verde. This is not Tex mex, this is authentic. I will be back real soon! read more

Just not good at all. Over priced, stale chips, watery beans and soggy chili relleno. Very bad indigestion after. I'm not a picky eater by any stretch but this just sucked. Maybe it was an off day, or always bad. Never going back! I love mom and pop hole in the wall restaurants but they didn't even try! read more

Don Juan Mexican Restaurant - Pineapple margarita - Mexican Near Me - Casper, Wyoming

Excellent, consistent food, wonderful location, and cheerful friendly service. Our family has frequented this restaurant for years. The food is classic Mexican, and relatively inexpensive. The menu on Yelp is completely wrong - Don Juan's says that someone else entered it and they have not been able to update it! Expect classic dishes served with rice & beans, red and green chili to add to meals or smother burritos, well priced children's meals (about $6) and a few special options. They have warm homemade chips and usually fresh guacamole - but ask. Note the health rating is higher than most places in town. We have always had great service, but do check your take out and make sure you have all of your items. They do a lot of take out, and it may be far busier than you think. I'm giving them a 5 even though they are not a luxury restaurant - for years of being there for this Mexican-food living family!! And because there are a couple of negative reviews that don't make sense. read more

Stopped for the night on our way home from Yellowstone. Chile relleno was authentic with egg batter perfectly fried around poblano pepper with white queso. I ordered ala carte for a lighter meal. Husband had a good pork burrito. Margarita well mixed. Sweet young waitress. read more

Visited this place on a recommendation. Overall not too bad. Nothing exceptional that I haven't had before, but certainly a place you could frequent if you are all about mexican flavor. The chips, salsa and queso were all very good. The flavor and spice were on par. I had the steak and chicken fajitas, which I felt were a bit on the bland side. They were good but the sauce was a bit tomato tasting and could have had more flavor or spice, but it wasn't something that ruined the meal or anything. Who knows, could have just been an off day for the chef. Prices were very reasonable, such as a carne asada taco for 6$. This would be a great lunch spot in downtown Casper. Overall, worth a visit and we will go back. read more

We were sat quickly, waited on immediately. Staff were all very friendly. Our food came out quickly and was delicious! I had tacos Al pastor, they were exactly what I wanted! Husband had steak fajitas, delicious! The restaurant was clean and well decorated. The bathrooms were small, but that's ok, we made it work. Will definitely be back! read more

Food is good, but dining in is also about the service and experience. Which were terrible. I ordered 3 street tacos, consisting of 2 al pastor and 1 carne asada. When the waitress put the plate down in front of me, I told her that it was wrong, she asked what I ordered I told her 3 tacos 2 are suppose to be al pastor 1 carne asada. The plate contained 4 tacos 1 carne asada 3 Barbacoa tacos. I tried to give her the plate back so they could remake the plate and the waitress said don't worry about it they just throw it away and to which I thought she would bring me the correct order. I felt I waited long enough and asked the waitress if the plate was coming out. She then told me that I did get 3 al pastor tacos. I told her I got 3 Barbacoa tacos and I ordered al pastor. She then went back and forth arguing with me about how al pastor is orange, and I got the orange meat. I told her please don't charge me for what I didn't order and as she was walking away she told me I shouldn't have eaten them then. Waitresses should be able to identify the types of food they bring out and not argue with guests. Very disappointed. You will find a photo of the two different types of meat and my bill. I moved from Arizona. I use to live an hour and a half from the U.S./Mexico Border. I grew up on authentic and homemade. Don Juan is the only restaurant over here in Casper that's real Mexican. All of the other restaurants I've come across in Casper that claimed they were authentic Mexican Food were actually nasty, fake, imitated Mexican Food! You want real go to Don Juan's! read more

This is incredible food. Authentic food from the Michoacán region with very little Americanized influence. The service is top notch, the salsa is entirely homemade and the dishes are as picante as you wish. If Taco John is your favorite kind of Mexican food then don't even bother coming here. If you want a REAL Mexican experience then hurry over to Don Juan! This was the best culinary surprise I had in Casper. Seriously, Don Juan is the best food, service and experience in Casper. read more

Margaritas tasted as if they mixed it with fabuloso cleaning solution. Will never come back, so gross.

Great food at a great price. The alpastor tacos are pretty good. Not your traditional alpastor a little more like barbacoa, but delicious.

Came by for lunch based upon a recommendation from a friend. Staff is friendly, food came quickly, it was hot and tasted excellent. Portions are a bit smaller than you usually see with a combination plate, but prices are also lower. All on all I'll definitely return when I'm hungry for a taco or enchiladas. read more

During the blizzard that swept through Casper recently, I was hungry and didn't have much to cook with in my house. So I took a stroll in the snow down 2nd street looking for an open restaurant. The only place open was Don Juan's. I've passed by this establishment hundreds of times intending to stop in someday, but never getting around to it. Well due to the snow, the rest of the restaurants left me with no other choice. Don Juan's it was. After my evening dinner, I am thinking to myself, why didn't I stop in sooner. The food was great! I ordered steak quesadilla for an appetizer, and had the steak fajitas for my entree. The portions were huge enough for two. The flavor was bomb diggity! The whole place was clean and well kept. Parking would probably be an issue on a busy Friday night as there is only a few spaces in front. You may have to park a block or so away if there's no spots in front. Good food, good service, I'll go back, and not just because they're the only place open next time... read more

Great Mexican food - certainly among the very best in Casper (and I live in SoCal so I'm used to excellent Mexican food). I had a shredded, marinated pork burrito smothered in green chili. Delicious. read more

Coming from so cal, this place is the closest to a Mexican joint your going to get in Casper. I went in homesick for some real Mexican food. This place filled that need in an instant. They have all the non-typical foods/meats lengua, and about 3 other meats I can't remember how to spell. The place is run by a very nice family. I asked them "what's the most authentic thing you make? I'm from SoCal and I'm craving real Mexican food" the mother of the restaurant made a real plate of slow pork with green chile and home made tortillas, and a couple of shots of tequila made for the perfect late dinner. The second time I went for lunch had the lengua street tacos $2 an perfectly tender meat. If your in casper and you want some real Mexican. Come here order the street tacos, the whole fish, menudo, or just talk to the waitress and you'll be happy read more

Best Mexican food ever they have the best waitress there abril she so nice and get the job done don't forget to try the beef enchiladas

Service was terrible, ask for cheese dip had to wait on it to be made.....ok, it was cheese like you would eat on your nachos at a baseball game NOT mexican cheese!! Just wasn't a good experience. read more

Great family run Mexican food. Get the tacos and the guac. 100% The house made tortillas were so good that we got two dozen to go.

Friendly staff, good food. Very traditional Mexican. Their salsa was not my favorite but the tacos and the pork enchiladas were great.

Don Juan Mexican Restaurant - Barrito alpastore damn that is good! - Mexican Near Me - Casper, Wyoming

It is my belief that this place is the best Mexican food in Casper, it doesn't look like much but who the fuck are you, some celebrity? I'd say on the whole they season everything much better than Guadalajara which is the swinging dick here in town, although their fryed ice cream is not as monolithic. I like the carne asada, carnitas tacos are good as well, the rice could have more flavor... But overall this place is very solid and underrated. read more

When I first walked in it did have a Mexico feel about it, especially the bathroom, it was clean just strangely placed. The chips were not fresh, tastes like they came from a bag. Salsa was mediocre. Service was pleasant and in a timely manner. We got a chimichanga and the carne asada plate both were average to good. I've definitely had worse Mexican food. read more

Fantastic. Amazing food, fair prices, large portions, fast and good service, authentic flavor. What more can you ask for?

The food was so so. Not the best but not the worst. We ordered carry out and our order was not completely correct. The wait was long. They said 10 - 20 minutes. We got there after 30 and our food was still being prepared and we had to wait almost 10 minutes for it (they were not busy; had 3 tables sat, 2 of which were waiting to pay). I might order or go here again but likely not. Both chicken and carne asada tacos were very dry but burritos were good. read more
