This. place. I came from way out of town (east coast city area) and this place is legit. Casper is lucky to have Mexican food this good. This is the type of place you'll leave craving your next meal. Everything from the margarita on the rocks to the fried beef taco to the rice and beans was great. Huge portions and DONT skip on the queso. Whoever complained about the chicken tenders at this place - maybe don't get chicken tenders at a Mexican spot? Anyway highly recommend! La Cocina is a solid mexican spot in Casper. I like the relatively new location, and food was pretty darn good. I'd never had an Indian Taco until dining here, and it was excellent. The beef filling was seasoned incredibly well and the rest of the dish was really good. The service was pretty good and even realized when my order was prepared wrong. It arrived late to the table but she communicated well and made sure i got what I ordered and it was prepared correctly. I will definitely be back. read more

I got seated right away; our waitress (the owners' daughter) was very attentive & was spot-on with service. The marg was yummy (house marg), as was the smothered cheese enchilada. We went there when they first opened and the food was amazing! The only thing we didn't care for was the cafeteria way with so many tables and chairs. I had no complaints with the service, the hostess seemed new, but helpful. The waitress and runners were all prompt and friendly. The complimentary chips and salsa were fantastic. However,our entrees were not great. My husband got an Indian taco, they served it on top of refried beans. It was soggy the whole way through. I got the street tacos, and there was absolutely no flavoring on the meat. The only flavor was the sour crema and lime. I got the impression that most of the people were there for alcoholic drinks, and the food was supposed to complement their bar service. The restaurant was smallish, and we were seated by the windows. As a result, it was cold, but in all fairness, in Casper Wyoming in January, that isn't unusual. read more

Sat for 45 minutes to get three street tacos served them super spicy! Had to get them to go. They just threw them in the boxes. Not great.

I've been to La Cocina at both their old location and the new one. I think the new location is much better than the old, certainly more modern, and a much nicer neighborhood. I really want to like this place, but every time I go, the food is unremarkable. I'm not saying it is bad. It's a mixture of good qualities and bad qualities. For example, I like their sauces a lot, but their rice seems old and mushy, like it was overcooked and then reheated. Sometimes, the chimichangas are fried until they're rock hard, but the filling is good. The service is middle of the road, nothing special, but not bad. Considering all the pros and cons, I don't get why this place is so popular. There are definitely better options for Mexican food in Casper, if you're focused on the food itself. My guess is that booze and location are the draw. I don't know.‍ read more

This is the third location I have gone to as La Cocina moves throughout the years. Unfortunately they have continued to decrease in qualityas time goes on. Ordered the #5 combo (chili rejenllo and chicken enchilada with red sauce) and found the two main dishes inedible. The red sauce was greasy. The rejenllo had the worst tasting batter on it, thinly coated, soggy and gray-green in color. The enchilada may have been edible without the red sauce but when I cut it open with the intention of eating the inside there was so little chicken it was essentially a cheese item. The homemade tortillas where thick, hard and tasteless. I did eat the beans and rice as I was hungry but the rice was mushy and watery. The service was good, very friendly waiter totally not his fault the product was so poor. read more

I do not say this lightly, this was THE BEST carne asada plate I've ever had. While it's not necessarily traditional, it had incredible flavor, perfect amount of heat and the steak was fork tender. Tacos are pretty good for the price. Enchiladas are fair. If you order Enchiladas on the side they come out dry no cheese, no sauce. If you want to add sauce to the side Enchiladas it will cost over $5 more. Pretty much everything is overpriced especially the drinks. Staff is good. Building is basic and big deal. read more

Stopped here on Memorial Day 2023 driving through from Buffalo, it's conveniently located right off I25. We were glad to find that not only were they open but it was also margarita Monday! Our chicken fajitas was tasty and the portion was a decent size, but somewhat over priced. Skinny margarita was also good but also over priced and small. Chips and salsa didn't arrive until I reminded them. The Mexican vibe was missing at this restaurant but the real disappointment was they charged us $3.50 for our hot sauce. Owner messaged me and apologized and explain the situation of miscommunication. I do appreciate the effort. I called 6 times over an hour to place a to go order but didn't have anyone answer. I figured they were busy and drove up to place my order. When I arrived, I was told by the hostess and manager that they did not answer the phone because they aren't doing to go orders and that was their solution, to not answer the phone. I told them it would have saved me a lot of time if they would just answer their phone and offer the courtesy to their customers to tell them. Manager was rude, Hispanic women with dark hair. Queso is very runny and was brought out at room temp. We put in our orders and I was given a chicken entree when I ordered it with beef, I brought this to the waiters attention and it felt like I was in the wrong, he took it back and I was brought a fried tortilla filled with... plain hamburger. My husband & I was so looking forward to La Cocina to eat & ordered Cocktails. We got seated fast but waited a long time before we got acknowledged. So, the young lady first gave us our napkins & silverware, than we waited for a long time, then we received Chips, Salsa dip, & Bean dip. We asked for water & that took a long time, Lord have Mercy! we could have choked on the chips & dip waiting soooo long for a glass of water. Upon the young lady bringing our water she said, your server will take your order, OK Thank you . So we wait, wait, wait, wait, It took our server maybe 30 minutes by the time he took our orders ,‍ wait, wait, wait. finally the young man takes our order. I ordered 2 Beef Enchiladas with Rice & Beans and my husband ordered the shrimp fajitas. OK Soooo we Wait, wait, wait again. We finally get our order and I noticed my to Beef Enchiladas had hardly any meat in them, I got more green flour Tortillas than meat, & small servings of Beans & rice. We thought WOW ! they must be running out of food with such small servings. So when our server brings our food, I ask to order Cocktails and he says OK but I'll come back and take your drink orders, OK Thank you, we wait, wait, wait, wait. The Drinks are absolutely horrible. First Margarita taste watery, second Margarita was OK. So they run out of Margarita Mix, we order a Martini, Terrible & watery, 2nd Martini Taste like water Lemon. I must say, my Beef Enchiladas, Rice, & Beans tasted yummy, but way small portions of food. We paid a little over $105.00 for 2 meals, 2 Margaritas, & 2 Martinis. I'm not returning to La Cocina , You guys really need improvements. I know that this is not your first rodeo, you've been in business for many years with many complaints. This is a new restaurant but with the same old complaints. i don't think the Owner cares about the complaints that are much needed. read more

My 15 year old got his first job today, he was very exited they gave him the position to be a "busser" they hired him the same day immediately made him start working .... and jus threw him in dish washing, he came home telling me everyone was very rude...being really passive aggressive when he had no training and just took advantage of him they didn't ask for an id ssn or anything just seems fishy to me. feel bad for all the kids they have working, he quit the same day and I feel horrible. He basically washed all these dishes for free for two three hours. He said he didn't mind doing it intill they started disrespecting him. read more

Easily the best mexican restaurant I've eaten at since moving to Wyoming. We sit down, I figured the salsa was like everywhere else so I took a big scoop and ‍! Man was it spicy. But sooo good. I asked the waitress if it was always that hot and she said, no it's pretty spicy today though. Which leads me to believe it's made in house and I like that alot. Tough to review, the restaurant was very clean, modern decor. The staff was very good, very polite and attentive and service was quick. The menu was lacking creativity and was pretty basic, tacos burritos and fajitas. The portions were good and plated nicely but the flavors were bland and everything has a similar taste, nothing exciting. The disappointing part was the house margaritas, they were horrible, like drinking iced lime juice, couldn't taste any tequila just lime. And to top it off, my little boy ordered a corn dog that was still frozen when he got it. read more
