Decor and bobcat pride!!

10/10 good people with great and quick service. Delicious food even tho prices have risen over the years due to inflation. The decor is so cute and cozy, a very welcoming restaurant. Strongly recommend the bravo burrito, California burrito and the Carne Asada fries

Unremarkable....Don't mean to be mean but the rice was mushy, the beans weren't very hot and as you can see in the photo the cheese didn't even melt a little. $24 for two place as posted and shared one coke. The lady behind the counter was very nice and the atmosphere was authentic. Was actually quite busy at lunch.

Not trying to do a la cocina vs yilbertos but I tried yilbertos first and it was pretty good, a little dry but good, then I came to la cocina and in my opinion I think this spot is better. I have only had a Cali burrito from them both and the one at la cocina was better, I wish they had a habanero salsa but that's a different topic. Going to try other items and see how they come out but as of now this will be my go to spot in Anza .

Excellent seasoning, great flavors, and good temperature. Why did I give it a five? - I was quite surprised to find a cute place like this that offered decent Mexican food. Staff were attentive and wait times were relatively low. Verdict? - Give it a shot if you're up in Idyllwild.

The parking lot is small, so you might be parking on the street. There's plenty of street parking. SERVICE 5-stars Great service. Host. Food runners. Wait staff. All did great despite being slammed at lunch service. FOOD This is average good. Seems like some canned or frozen vegetables. Rice was not particularly exciting - a bit on the dry side. BEANS were well seasoned. Olive oil & Jalepeno salsa was 5 stars! Portions are Generous. VEGAN from Vegetarian menu. Most offerings in their vegetarian section can be made vegan by asking for "no dairy" Steamed chicken was tender, but no flavor. Their salsa (olive oil + jalepeno) saved the chicken. The outdoor patio is a lovely way to spend the afternoon. They allow pets outside on the patio. You may have to wait for tables along the edge to open up. PRICE You are a tourist supporting this beautiful little town. Enjoy eating out if you're in the mood for some touristy Mexican faire. Close to the center of town by foot.

Service was amazing, so quick to come out with fresh chips and salsa (FRESH! as in they made the chips in-house... rare trait to come by these days IMO). Quantity of food was incredible. I can't speak for the menudo (dad got this) or for the 3 egg platter (not really sure why my mom got this) but $16 for a carne asada burrito as well as the beans, rice, and veggies on the side was such a steal. Especially in Anza Borrego. I would've thought it would maybe be more expensive since it probably costs a lot to bring out the best ingredients in the desert but somehow they have it all figured out. The carne asada burrito meat was top tier. Smoky flavor, soft with charred edges, so flavorful and overall the quantity of the burrito was way more than I was expecting. Lastly, I'm just so happy my dog got to sit outside with us. They have a shaded patio with a couple tables. I think other pet parents followed suit, as this seems to be a hit for dog-friendly spots here in Anza Borrego. I'd highly recommend. What a great find by me. Go me!! This is truly a hole in the wall that needs more recognition. You won't be let down!

I came here this evening and honestly ended up having a really good experience. When I first got…read morehere, there was about a 45-minute wait for a table for one. After waiting around 20 minutes, I decided to just grab a seat at the bar, and I'm actually glad I did. There was no wait, and even though the restaurant was packed, my food came out really fast. Jon was my primary server. He was polite but was not attentive, I didn't feel like we connected much during the meal. The front staff was very friendly, though, and helped me with some recommendations. I ordered the guacamole with chips and salsa, fried whole jalapeño, chile relleno, and rice and beans. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well seasoned. The guacamole was really good, the rice and beans had a lot of flavor, and the fried jalapeño with the habanero sauce had just the right amount of heat. If you like spicy food, I'd definitely recommend trying it. The chile relleno was recommended by Alvaro, and he told me it reminds him of his grandma whenever he eats it. I really liked hearing that because it made the recommendation feel personal, and he was absolutely right, it was delicious. Huge shoutout to Alvaro. He wasn't even my primary server, but he kept an eye on me, checked in, helped with recommendations, and made sure everyone around the bar was taken care of. He was just genuinely friendly and easy to talk to, and that stood out to me. For dessert, I tried the Pan de Elote for the first time, again on Alvaro's recommendation. I had never tried it before, but trust me, hands down, it was really good. I'm glad he convinced me to give it a try because it was the perfect way to finish the meal. The kitchen deserves a shoutout too. Everything came out cooked well and looked great. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and has both indoor and outdoor seating, and I thought the prices were pretty reasonable. I've been to a few highly rated places around Palm Springs that looked great on paper but didn't quite live up to the reviews, so it was nice to finally have a meal that actually delivered. Good food, good atmosphere, and genuinely nice people. Alvaro definitely made the experience more memorable!!!!

We honestly felt like we paid full size prices for kid size meals and left still hungry. We had another appointment immediately afterward, so we didn't have time to order anything else, which made it even more disappointing. We've been to the Azusa location, and the difference in portion sizes is surprising! The servings there are easily 2-3 times the amount. For what we paid in Palm Springs, we definitely expected more. The food itself was enjoyable, but the value and portion sizes really missed the mark for us.
