It's an ok place, but nothing really special. Service was friendly, but not particularly dedicated. I had the "butcher's choice" and was one of the worst streaks I ever had. The fries were very good though. My wife had the gigot d'agnon and it was delicious. Location was nice, on the Clock Square, some tables are right in the middle of the square, but today was too windy and cold to be outside, so we preferred to seat in the heated terrace.

You pay for the nice location. Yuck. I don't think they are trying to be tasty or fresh. In spots the burger was cold. The salad was like a hotel salad bar at a Marriott or worse. Step it up people. At least the beer was cold :) read more

As a person with an invisible disability and began to have an episode, I was refused passage through the restaurant which was blocking access to my hotel. I was yelled at by an aggressive server who illegally blocked my path. This resulted in me falling due to my condition (POTS), at which point another server allowed me to pass through. The server bad mouthed me to restaurant patrons even after seeing me fall and then accused me of faking my condition. This treatment was not only inappropriate and discriminatory, but it also caused me physical harm during a medical crisis. I am shocked and disappointed by the lack of understanding and empathy shown in this situation, especially given that I was simply seeking a safe path to my hotel. I hope the restaurant takes this complaint seriously and makes efforts to train staff on how to accommodate individuals with invisible disabilities. I would advise potential visitors with any medical conditions to be cautious when visiting this establishment. read more
This was a pretty bad experience. It was probably just gimmicky because it's in the main square, but the food was very mediocre. No one in my party liked the food. The 2 pastas and my steak dish were all really gross. The waiter was not friendly and did not want to allow me to keep stroller near my seat. I would recommend eating elsewhere. read more

Stopped here to get a quick bite and a drink and were told we couldn't order a snack listed on the menu without ordering something more. Nothing on the menu states this. Rip off. read more

First day exploring Avignon and I needed something substantial to get me through the day. I decided to try on impulse la Civet after seeing their menu du jour of a continental brunch. The waitress suffered through my choppy French but spoke English well and joked around repeating my order back in my accent, which put me at ease. What I wasn't prepared for was the size of the meal, it consisted of beef pattie topped with an egg side of beans and sausage, salad, cheese, 3 slices of toast and a toasted croissant. My cries of "tres formidable" were met with "You have to finish it" I did my best but I should have ordered something smaller. It also came with a coffee and a glass of juice for about 15€ the combination of friendly staff and value for money and food quality made this a good choice. read more

Outdoor cafe type restaurant in Avignon. We decided to eat here based on the advertised special (magret de canard au miel or duck breast with honey). We promptly got a table, sat down and looked over the menu. It took quite awhile before any waiter noticed us to take our order and when they did, the special advertised was not available! Ah well. The waiter recommended the bœuf special which was a fillet of beef served in a creamy pepper sauce with fries and salad. It was really delicious. The entire meal for 2 people (2 beef entrees, 2 glasses of wine) was just under 38 euros. Great price. I would eat here again. read more

We had the plat du jour - steak frites, which was a steak at poivre with fries and salad. The menu even indicated that it was boeuf Charolais which was exciting. Unfortunately the steaks (ordered medium rare) came well done and medium well. The beer that we ordered was out of stock (pression) so we ended up with something like hoegarden instead. Disappointing. read more

Service and food is excellent. We had ham and cheese omelette with salad, amazing croissant, and a decent sized latte that wasn't too strong or weak. Great view of the opera, nice outdoor seating for people watching and, as you would expect in this part of the world, second hand smoking. read more
