Delightful food, tasty wine, excellent genuine personable service, stylish ambiance, and a convenient location.
The decor is a delightful brown (yeah you did read that right) with copper highlights that matches the wooden tables.

I've seen this place lots of time from the outside when inspecting (and eating in) the fish restaurant Sea Salt next door.
Tonight I was interested to see if there was a Degraves St restaurant I haven't eaten in. I may have inadvertently saved the best for last.
Reading the white writing on the floor to ceiling windows a tall elegant blonde waitress gracefully offered me a menu. I hate pushy staff who try and almost force you to eat in their restaurant, and so does she, as it later transpired in conversation. A quick look and I was sold on a couple of items.
There were some vacant seats outside under the heaters, but it being winter I just wanted to dine inside.
So, the duck or the interesting chicken. Neither, the specials sounded delightful. As did several of the cocktails and the winelist.
I enjoyed speaking to the 2 staff that served me. The cauliflower soup was enjoyable. However, it was the Snapper with Brussel sprouts, bacon and peas that was a real dining treat. The best piece of Snapper I've had in a long time. Plus the glass of Chardonnay, of which I can be quite fussy, was also pretty good. read more
