I am a regular customer of this place. Have always enjoyed coming here until recently an incident occurred. Last Friday on 11th Jan, I sat on the outside seating area and ordered a meal. Then a few mishaps occurred as mentioned below:
1. The meal was bland and my regular mocktail tasted horrible as it came out warm with cream floating away from the glass.
2. I left my Oroton Sunglasses on the table so, I made a phone call to the restaurant on Monday after realizing to find out if any lost property was found.
The staff member refused to give me his name and flatly denied stating that nothing was found. When I asked if I could speak to the manager this staff member terminated the call. When I called again he placed my call on hold for half an hour then terminated the call. Then, I left a voicemail asking for the manager with my mobile number and received a call-back within 2 seconds (at 17:31 on Monday, 14-01-2019).
3. The person who called hardly spoke English and said in these words "Listen, we do not have your Sunglasses and you need to stop calling". I asked for his name and he said his name was Wasey, and called himself the Manager of the restaurant. Being assured of speaking to a Manager, I politely enquired whether he has asked his staff members working that day (Friday, 11th Jan) Then I also provided details of table number and the name of the waitress serving me.
4. This guy Wasey, claiming to be a Manager replied: "No, I haven't checked with the staff members and I am not going to!" I asked if my lost property was found later, would he be kind enough to make a follow up call he said that's not going to happen because if anything was found he would have known by now. At that point, I mentioned I will be writing a review about how you have treated a repeat customer today. First, hanging up on me then, refusing to make any attempts in finding my lost property, placing me on hold for half hour then sending me numerous threatening text messages over a question for lost property. I find this appalling ! Not even once, he apologized but, sent me essay long text messages. I seriously doubt this guy was the Manager!!
I come from a hospitality background and I am shocked that how some employees can completely ruin someone else's business with such unprofessional and aggressive behavior. I even asked if there was anyone else I could speak to and Wasey said the next level up from him were the owners who don't speak to customers.
In his text messages, this guy falsely accused me of asking for a free meal which I did not because I do not intend to come back to this place and was very nervous about the fact that I will be raising this incident on social media for the real business owners, Managers and the customers to read this.
If the owners of this business read this, you can verify the details of this person with me. I have his record of text messages which he might edit or delete if you ask him to show you. Can you please ask him to STOP messaging me with threats as I will be contacting police for harassment if he ever tries to reach me again with abusive words and scare tactics.
