Great service great food. Excellent wine and decent glasses, a must for us. Hidden away from foot traffic so deserves to be more popular than it is. Although it was 3/4 full on the Friday night we went. Highly recommend. Served by Julia who was fantastic.

Curious little place in a lane off Little Collins St. Stopped for a quick nip before a meeting. An Ardbeg 10 year old was the order of the day. Perfect warm up on a chilly Melbourne day. The place struck me as a bit bitty inside where the coffee shop and (sort of) bar is. By that I mean I couldn't work out what the predominant decor style was. The restaurant area look lovely though. Lovely soft R&B playing though which helped the overall mood a little. The servers seemed a bit flat to me. I loved my drink but overall the place didn't make a strong impression on me. Trying the food one day might change that.

I had the Summer Tasting menu ($69). Great selection of cured meats, Scarpetta, Duck & Ameretto ice cream. Beautiful venue, it wasn't too busy the staff were really nice and great service. Will be back for sure.

Delicious spaghetti w vongole and bottarga. Generous portion, perfectly al dente and sauce didn't require any tweaking of flavour.

I was sad to see Gills diner go, but am in love with Emilia, it's replacement. Friendly professional staff know their stuff. Buzzy atmosphere but not so that you have to yell at your fellow diners. Generous portioned dishes. Can't go past their beef carpaccio which had a drizzle of their precious 50yo balsamic vinegar. Giant octopus tentacle was paired nicely w broccoli and chilli. Spot on spaghetti w bottarga and vongole. My friends' lamb was beautifully medium rare and the blue eye looked sensational. We squeezed in a dark choc torta and a mango mint semifreddo - glad we did! Will definitely come again!

This gave is a beautiful view of the promenade for when the fire show started. I ordered the lamb which was cooked deliciously medium. My husband ordered the swordfish which was also cooked just right, medium. We ordered a side of potatoes to go with our meal. To start we ordered asparagus. The preparation was delightful with the glaze and sauce evenly spread across all of the 6 asparagus. They had been cooked and chilled to the ideal texture for asparagus - not too soft and not too crunchy. We were assisted by Hannah, one of the sommeliers at the restaurant, to select an Australian wine to go with our meals. We were not disappointed in her recommendation. We our only disappointed in our inability to remember the name of the wine. Hannah also suggested when we were in Hobart to visit Sullivan's Cove Distillery for Whisky. This suggestion was even better than her wine recommendation. Now I could carry on reviewing the meals my husband and I had, but I won't. They were both equally delicious with impeccable presentation. The pace of the meal was such to allow for digestion and that is a welcome change from being in the States. The wait staff was all equally pleasant for a restaurant of this stature being in the base of The Crown Promenade Melbourne and at the higher end of the price point spectrum.

The service was quick and efficient and their staff made wonderful recommendations. They've got a fantastic menu and cocktails and wine list! I enjoyed fresh oysters and their pappardelle with wagyu beef that was so rich in flavor. It was the perfect dinner and their Italian cuisine is the ultimate comfort food!

Here's what we noticed: - It was difficult to get a reservation at prime dinner hour, so we opted for a 3:30 PM late lunch/early dinner which worked out perfectly for our schedule. - The place overall has a great vibe, good music, and it is pretty small. - There were some really interesting drinks and good wines to choose from...we went with wine since we had other plans later that evening. - We decided to start with the salad with pear and honey, and then my wife and I split both the black squid ink pasta, and the special pasta that had Moreton Bay Bugs. The salad was incredible perfectly dressed... Having it first gave us away as Americans for sure, but it was perfect. The squid ink pasta was every bit as good as everyone said in reviews, and so was the special pasta. - Service was great, not overbearing. They even brought us some extra bread so we could sop up the sauce from our pasta. Bottom line: There are so many great restaurants in Melbourne and Tipo 00 is right up there and should be on your "to try list".

Any of their pizzas (including the meat lovers) are great to consume on a Saturday night for a snack before eating something more substantial later. Buy your pizza, go outside and enjoy the spits of fire overlooking you with a loud hiss along the yarra. The sauce is refreshing, with an abundance of fresh toppings. A little more cheese could be great. There are moments you would like to ask if there is a microwave nearby to heat up your pizza; although the staff can and do put it in a warm conveyor like toaster to heat up your pizza for you; although the problem with that method is that the pizza becomes too crunchy. Best to order these pizza's when fresh. The cheese is just sensational then, and your pizza is also piping hot. Amen. Great food at the right time, and the service is quite pleasant as well. The staff are fast and efficient. If there is a queue (which there sometimes will be) don't worry too much about it; you will be served in no time.
