Not only was the food and wine prepared to perfection, but Ricardo was our server and he honestly made our day. He seemed so genuinely happy to be there and put a smile on everyone's face the moment we stepped within the vicinity. A huge thank you to him for excellent service and an all-around lovely personality! We were seated outside on the outer edge of the area, right next to a street musician. Gorgeous atmosphere all around. This was both mine and my partner's last day in Melbourne and we couldn't have picked a better location for our final meal here. Everything was delicious and the pizza I ordered was finally a vegan version with plentiful toppings as opposed to most places that serve only plain ones. I was thrilled! Even the dough was prepared wonderfully. It had a soft, fluffy, and moist inner texture with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. Please do give this place a try! You'd never regret it.

If you're looking for a pizza you'd find in the heart of Roma, you've found it. Making a pizza is not hard, making a good pizza is a art. And these guys make one of the best pizzas in Melbourne. Forget all that "triple cheese crust with shredded ham" crap you get from every local pizza joint. These guys know pizza. The pizza base was cooked to perfection. Light and crispy. Most important the ingredients are amazing. Fresh, tasty and meld together. And, as like a lot of pizza joints out there, I didn't wake up thirsty (you know what I mean). The service was personable and I'll defiantly be back. And soon!

Despite being a really busy day, service was great, lucky enough to get a table outside on a glorious day. COFFEE WAS DELICIOUS! Both of us were very happy with our eggs. My poached were lovely and gooey, beans freshly made with a light Napoli sauce.

Food: We ended up here by chance after the restaurant we planned to go to was full. I order the lamb gnocchi which was a special and I have to say it was delicious. The gnocchi was light, and the lamb ragu was lovely. Only disadvantage was it was a little greasy. It's also pricey, and while good, there are definitely better options in the CBD for a much lower price. Atmosphere/service: The service was friendly, but a little disorganised. We had people try to take our order more than once, even though we had already ordered, and it seemed as though they were sharing staff with their sister restaurant on the other side of the laneway. It just ruined the experience a little, as it felt very disjointed and was difficult to order drinks during our meal as there were no staff around. Would I recommend it: Yes, the food was very enjoyable, and while a little annoying, the service was fairly good - the friendliness of the staff helped balance out the disorganisation. It needs a few tweaks, but it's definitely one of the better restaurant I've visited on Degraves Street.

Il Tiempo is a cafe/bar/restaurant in the degraves st, one of the awesome laneways that make Melbourne so great. Serving Italian fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner, his is a great place to enjoy a meal or a coffee, or just to soak up the atmosphere of the area and its charms. They offer a great lunch deal here. It has a couple of variatiions and options, but my favourite is the $24 deal, which includes a pasta dish, a house beverage, and the choice of bruschetta, entree or dessert. Such a hard decision .... their bruschetta is awesome though, so I generally choose that! The staff are really friendly, and are always up for a chat when they're not busy.It just adds to the relaxed vibe, and makes Il Tiempo the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon on one of their outdoor tables.

Really great pizza! We had the Margherita pizza which was simple but good. Crust and cheese make this a classic NY style pizza. Highly recommend. Beer selection is limited but wine was reasonable. Great cafe for an afternoon of people watching.

This is the massive chicken parmigiana topped with ham and a side of cheesy garlic bread. Easily 2-3 meals on one plate.

Don't ask me how I found this place or why I decided to come here, but it was SO WORTH IT. I literally found this place after I flew in from New Zealand on my tour and within an hour of stepping foot into a city I had never been to in my life, I had one of the biggest plates of chicken parmigiana and garlic bread I have ever seen. It almost pains me that I live on the other side of the planet or I would come here again and again. it pays to " get lost " and eat like a local.

If you want good pizza a personalised service with a simile ... if you haven't been here you are missing out

Loved this restaurant. Italian is hard to do badly but perfection is also out of reach for most. Not this place!

I would say that the star dish is the chicken parmigiana, which is a gargantuan, heaping portion of chicken with chips.

We were the first booking, and I was the first in the door when the opened to the public -- a more complete review will follow, but, I wanted to get this into Yelp as soon as possible. The staff is a mix of Sydney Rockpool Group staff, The Waiting Room staff, as well as staff from Spice Temple and Rockpool Bar and Grill Melbourne -- and, of course, some new faces. They are still finding their way with the layout, the menu, and each other, but tonight's opening was truly a joy to behold. Pictures and more to follow, and I would give this 5 stars, but I felt that being opening night there is always something to learn and improve upon. Neil Perry was present for the evening, and was a fantastic host. Those of us who are "fans" will feel right at home. The menu is focussed, delicious, traditionally inspired, but creatively enhanced. The wine list is just right for the venue, and the desserts, well, YES PLEASE ALL OF THE ABOVE. Right, that's it for now. Really, just, wow, great start to what I truly hope will be a fantastic addition to Melbourne's foodie landscape. Great job Neil and crew, looking forward to the next visit! --- Update December 31st 2012: My wife and I have just finished our last meal of the year at Rosetta and it was the best yet. The entire meal was flawless; three hours of the best wine, food and service that you can get in Melbourne. I promised to update the review as soon as the crew had hit their stride, and boy, have they. There's a sense of flow between the staff and the location that only comes as people get to know one another and their environment. They know how to duck and weave, how to give way to patrons, to people carrying food and drink, and this "coming together" is reflected in all parts of Rosetta now. For dinner we started by sharing the Insalata di Mare - both my wife and I loved every bite, but the scampi was probably our mutual highlight here. Next, we shared one of the primi dishes: Tagliarini Neri. Described as "Hand picked warm mud crab with fresh chilli and lemon zest" the dish is likely one of the more complicated ones to prepare -- that hand picking is tedious work, and the server did say that since it's not done by machine, there may be a bit or two in the mix that isn't expected. We were more than fine with that, and in our case, no issues. The pasta was absolutely perfect and we both found ourselves using bits of bread to get as much of the lemon/oil as possible. This was probably our favourite dish at Rosetta to date. My wife went with the Maccheroni Giganti and I went with the Anatra - they slightly changed it, now it is served with braised cherries; last time we visited it was peaches and vinaigrette. I must say, I preferred it with the cherries. The skin was crispy, the flavour spectacular. We finished with some of the gelato (wow), and of course had a bottle of wine with our meal - but the experience at Rosetta has, to us, reached that level of enjoyment that is about far more than just the meal itself, it's the interaction with the staff, the way they truly seem to enjoy their jobs, and how much we look forward to going back as soon as we can.

Me: "What do you mean there are no lobsters in Australia? You guys are famous for lobsters"…read more Server: "They're called crayfish". Me: "But I thought you were also famous for those blue giant crayfish"? Server: "You mean yabbies". Me: "OK, so what's a marron"? Server: "It's a fresh water giant crayfish with the taste and texture of a frog". Me, now totally confused: "So what's a bug"? Server: "You Americans call them slipper lobsters". First, the Atlantic is located in the Crown Casino complex. Outstanding ingredients at a hefty price. For the best sampling of Australian seafood, opt for the Atlantic Seafood Platter. Perfectly cooked then chilled Moreton Bay bugs (firm, sweet flesh with the texture similar to lobster ending with a stronger briny flavor), marron (toothsome, smooth texture and flavor very similar to frogs legs with no seafood finish), spanner crab (Hawaii yeeps, this is Kona crab; very sweet, juicy, good salinity), diamond clams (raw surf clams; sweet upfront with notes of cucumber finishing with a briny oceanic wash), Australian rock oysters on the half shell (creamy, briny, fresh oceanic wash), sweet jumbo prawns, and plump cooked mussels. Add a half or whole (about one kilo) perfectly cooked and chilled, uber sweet, firm crayfish and all is right in the world. Other standouts include an excellent, simply split then grilled giant leader prawns. Barely cooked through. Grilling brings out the sweetness. The accompanying chili jam and squeeze of fresh lime brings it to life. The wood fired octopus is also excellent. Garlicky, with balanced salinity. Tender, the char adding texture and bitter notes. Finally the Moreton Bay bug spaghetti is excellent. Chunks of just cooked through bugs mixed with pasta finished in a simple EVOO, garlic, red chili flakes and fresh parsley. Simple and sublime. Tip: Do not pass up the bar menu (available from lunch to closing). The Spanner crab toast with avocado cream and soft shell crab bao with kim chi and pickled radish are good eats! Excellent selection of wines by the glass backed by an great by the bottle list. Heavy emphasis on approachable and unique Australian wines (sparkling shiraz anyone?), with New Zealand and France rounding out the list. Resort pricing. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Resort proper. Sure, prices are higher than other eateries, but The Atlantic delivers a well encompassing Australian seafood experience in one spot.
