Walk in and you're immediately hit with great vibes -- Mexican style chairs, lights on the wall, great wall art and decoration. They put real thought into this place and it shows. Not once. Five out of five. Food: 5/5 I have never had a bad meal at Rey Azteca. Not one. The food is consistent, delicious, and is exactly what you picture when you close your eyes and think of a great Mexican restaurant in Central PA. Overall: 5/5 Consistency is key, and Rey Azteca has it in spades. Great vibes, great service, great food. The best Mexican restaurant in the area and it's not particularly close. Great food that's flavorful and authentic. I grabbed food to go. But there was a decent amount of people having dinner. It smelled amazing when I waked in. Young man who was in the counter was friendly and helpful in attending me. It also looked very clean and some beautiful colorful decor. Do yourself a favor and STOP going to the place down the block "El Rancho" for " Mexican " food. That's not authentic, & it's way over priced for wack food, in my opinion. What I ordered.. -Tacos Mixtos platter (mixed tacos - meaning whatever meat choice you'd like) I got chorizo, chicken & carnitas (roasted pork) -Smothered Burrito. Everything was delicious. Chicken was tender and flavorful. The burrito had all the fix ins and can be shared. Great portion for the price!

We visited late on a Tuesday night…read more It was a little difficult to find the building, since it sits back off the walkway a bit. Once we found the place, there was plenty of parking, and we were able to walk right in. (We were visiting the area and staying nearby at Hershey lodge. It is in easy walking distance from the lodge, but because it was dark out, we decided to drive instead) We were not aware that it was a sit yourself place, so when we walked in and were waiting to be seated, a couple walked in behind us and grabbed the last open table, so make sure you claim a spot fast! You need to order at the register, and when it's ready they'll deliver it to wherever you're waiting. We had the enchiladas and the steak tacos with added cheese, with chips and cheese dip. All of the food tasted great, the only complaint is we expected a different cheese for the tacos. Overall, the food tasted good and came out quickly , just what we were looking for.

There are no truly great Mexican restaurants in Hershey, so we were glad to see a new one move in…read moreand try to fill that void. La Catrina comes close, and may in time become a favorite for lots of people. But in our case it came up a little short of that mark. First the ambiance. Orders are placed at a counter, so don't expect to be escorted to your table by a host or hostess. In any case, the size of the dining room is too small for hosts and waiters. In addition to the approximately 6 tables inside, there are a few tables outside. But the outside tables are shared by other restaurants and are dependent on the weather. A margarita would have brightened our moods, but they don't seem licensed for that. As for the food, the beef burrito that we shared was good, and was a reasonably generous size. Not massive, but plenty big for two people. The chips and guac that we ordered as a side dish was tasty, but the chips were greasy and the guac was curiously runny. Was that the taste and texture they're after, or a sign that they're still working out some new-restaurant kinks? We were impressed by the porcelain plates and metal silverware, which made it seem like they want to set a high standard. That wasn't enough, in our opinion, to justify their prices. Our check, with a couple sodas and a tip, was in the mid $40s!! All that being said, the ambiance, food and smells all gave it an authentic feel. If you're looking for an authentic experience, you might give La Catrina a try.

Huge basket of chips and salsa to start off and then my (à la carte) chicken enchilada and lunchtime special Birria burrito were served. The enchilada looked the same as all El Rodeo restaurants, but my attention was to the burrito which looked like it was swimming in water. I was skeptical at first, but after taking a bite, I realize that this was delicious consommé without any grease, so it looked watery. The flavor was rich and delicious along with perfectly seasoned meat. I loved this meal and overall experience. Gonna have to add this back into the lunch rotation...

It took a little time to get it going, but after a quick assist from a jump box, I finally heard the rumble of those horses galloping between my legs. Is there anything better than a Harley adventure? I rode up to Fish Creek and looped back to Derry Street, where I found my favorite slice of pizza. I've reviewed this spot before, but that was for a regular slice. This time, I ordered the Grandma slice. The design of the sauce and cheese was crossed over the slice in a perfect square, like you're looking out of a window into the countryside. As I took the first bite, my mouth jumped with joy. This was my first time having a Grandma pizza from this place, and it was amazing. I'll say it again: I dare you to try eating this with a fork and knife. Take your time and enjoy all the flavor notes as they hit your taste buds. Of course, I paired it with a Coca-Cola--because what is pizza without a cold Coke? Before hopping back on my horse, I stopped by the restroom. I was amazed at how clean it was; there was actually soap in the dispenser! I've been to a lot of pizza joints where the soap is always empty, so I was happy to actually get clean. I highly recommend this place for both the pizza and the Mexican cuisine. This remains my number-one pizza spot in the Harrisburg area. I give this place a hard 4.8 out of 5.
