Verde Chicken Enchiladas with rice and beans.

Found this place on Yelp and tried it out. Chancla meaning Sandals or Flip Flops. The restaurant is small and nicely decorated they even sell Mexican chips, drinks and homemade desserts. We ordered: Chicken Verde Enchiladas: Big portion they where really good and served with rice and beans. Rice was flavorful and not overcooked. Carnitas and Al Pastor Tacos: Yummy served with grilled Mexican onions and radishes. Free chips with beans: Good and homemade Salsa Verde yummy. Pina Agua Fresca: Not to sweet and refreshing. Over all the food was good authentic and the service was good will definitely return soon and try other food options.

Great local Mexican spot. Meat is sometimes dry, but their sopes are HUGE. Can't beat it. And they're always very kind to me

Amazing food! Some of the best tacos (Mexican food) I've ever had. Their horchata is also superb! Everything is so worth the price! I'm Im full after 2 tacos but still try to finish my tostada. Service is friendly and fast! I would come here every week if it wasn't so far from home

I'd been looking forward to trying out La Chancla for months after several of my spanish speaking amigos had told me about their gigantic tortas and delicioso food. I finally made it in after driving by it two days in a row; the restaurant is in the middle of a residential area and, to me, looks just like a house from the outside! Well, regardless, I made it inside and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is mostly nondescript, with the exception of two cute tables outside for dining al fresco. Everything looked clean and nice though. There was one server inside and she was super nice about letting me practice mi espanol while ordering and paying for my burrito al pastor that I had been craving for days. I was ravenous and didn't take a hard look at the menu to see their other offerings, but I've heard they have these huge sandwiches that feed a family and they were in the 12 dollar range. My burrito was really great, and gigantic as well. The meat was really flavorful, and it was the first time in my limited al pastor experience that I could really see and taste the pineapple. Mine looked pretty much exactly like the one in Tom D.'s picture. I am pretty happy that I decided to go in, and I'm looking forward to trying out the rest of their menu. I'm sure it won't replace my favorites in the city, but it's so nice to have options like this close to home!

    Al Pastore burrito to go

Since moving to the area about 6 months ago I've been on a search for a good local Mexican restaurant. I've tried the other places listed on yelp and a few others that weren't listed but this is my new favorite. I got the al pastore burrito - of note b/c many 'authentic' Mexican places don't have burritos. Mine was wonderful, full of meat, rice, frijoles, LTO and avocado as well as a generous helping of queso fresco. I got mine to go and it was delicious. It came with fries and some fresh house salsa. They do have a menu in english, but fare is typical of any authentic mexican establishment. they have on the menu tacos, as for the atmosphere - it is pretty small, but nice and comfortable. they have a few tables with chairs out front on the porch. As they don't accept credit cards you will need to take cash. I only had $8 on me, but that was enough for my delicious burrito. They also have a cooler full of soda and fruit nectars etc. They also have mexican coke (made with cane sugar, in a glass bottle). Try it if you've never had it before - it's much better than regular coke.

Sorry, I took the photo when it was half gone.

Every dish tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Service was fabulous! Started with their house-made guacamole & pico de gallo, which were both super fresh and the perfect way to kick things off. I also tried the elote, which was packed with flavor, and the fish taco, which was light, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The King Taco was another standout, and I really loved the queso birria taco; so rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a great birria taco. And you can't leave without trying their horchata, which was the perfect refreshing drink to go with all the food. I also had the opportunity to try their Baja fish taco which was another stand out for me! The fish was light, the Baja sauce was so flavorful and delish! What makes this spot even more unique is that their locations are actually inside QuickStop gas station market, which makes it such an unexpected gem. Their first location started near the King of Prussia area, and they now have a few locations in the area; including this one in Collegeville. Just goes to show that sometimes the best food can come from the most unexpected places. If you see El Gordo Bros while you're stopping at QuickStop... trust me, it's worth it.

Situated on a small main ave plot, with adequate parking and a stones throw away from the perkiomen trail, el Gordo bros provides the fuel you need for a quick pick me up, a burst of energy or a drunken stomach screaming for nutrition on a late night. And don't get me wrong, this is more than just your standard hangover preventing college fare; this is quality food at a price that even mass market fast food eateries (chipotle? Taco Bell? Heck even McDonald's) can't compete with. Made with love, curated to make your taste buds do the cha cha, el Gordo bros is on my save save save list!

They charge a service fee for cards. Friendly service and easy payment. On to the food: The carne asada burrito was huge, with a good portion of meat. A little spicy, but not overly. I got it as is, it came with rice, beans, cream, pico de gallo, guacamole, salsa and cheese. Really tasty. The chorizo and eggs mixed well, they came with sliced fried potatoes, sliced avocado, cheese and rice, with a tub of beans sprinkled with cheese included. My wife liked the container. Parking was easy in a shared lot, they are next door to Primo Hoagies. Would go back if in the area.

We usually go to other spots for Mexican food, but decided to give this place a try, and I'm so glad we did. I ordered the Elote and al pastor tacos, and they were incredible. The service is great, and it's a cute little eat-in restaurant with a cozy vibe. We brought our two year old with us, and he seemed to enjoy it too. We're already planning to come back and try more dishes. They even have daily specials, which I would love to take advantage of next time. Overall, amazing food, great service, and an easy five stars from us :)
