Excellent ambiance. Service is good. Don't expect American smile here. One of our service personal was very nice. She took the dessert order and recommended one of the dishes. The front desk people were so nice and kind. They got us in without reservations at around 8 pm. It was a rainy night. Made us happy Food is good, so many options from sushi to Italian ! Dessert absolute must here. Even simple coffee comes with the most intricate tiny sweets on the side. My carbonara is delicious a bit large on the portion! Side of veggies always a must in this region, it's fresh and tasty and plentiful. Wine menu only on their mobile iPad upon request! Place started to get large groups closer to 9:30. Fun place. Has an exotic, almost tropical-island type feel in the heart of Montecatini-Terme. Cozy and yet classy, this is a great spot for a romantic evening on the town. The service is very attentive, very engaging, and friendly. As you would expect, you never feel rushed, and the meal is served at a pleasant pace, with an adequate amount of time between courses. The food is quite tasty, and the portions are just right. Some of our favorites include the eggplant Parmesan, which is perhaps the best item on the menu, in addition to pasta and clam sauce, the grilled salmon, and the pasta carbonara. The pizza is also scrumptious, prepared Neapolitan style, and can easily be shared by two people. We also enjoy coming here for dessert, with the chocolate soufflé (lava cake) and the crème brûlée serving as our favorite options. Prices are reasonable, especially when you count for the quality of the food, the ambience, and the overall experience. One of my favorite dinner locations when visiting Montecatini-Terme. read more

Such a beautiful location and ambiance! We sat outside in their luscious patio. It was a special date for my honey and I, so romantic. We enjoyed the fusion menu, with Italian as well as Asian flavors, plenty of delicious choices for us vegetarians. I had the eggplant and he had Tortelli Magellani--So good! Our starters were lovely deep-fried and stuffed zucchini flowers as well as vegetable tempura. Dessert was amazing! Gorgeous wine, friendly service--we never felt hurried in the least. We saw families with children (room for them to move about, which was nice!) and many smaller groups and couples of all ages. Highly recommend! read more

This will be my favorite spot in many trips(hopefully) to Montecatini! We got back to the city late and hadn't really taken time to explore the late nite dining. After several misses, I found this on Google Maps (sorry). We arrived around 11 and the place had a nice after hours vibe. We instantly felt like we were a part of the "in crowd" and was seated on what appeared to be a closed in patio. Did I mention this place looks like it is in a park! As non Italian speakers we didn't feel like second class citizens for stumbling though the words that we know. After a bottle of wine it didn't matter. Everything was delicious from the shrimp roll to the creme brûlée! Parking is a challenge throughout this country so I can't help you there. Extensive wine list and the started us out with a glass of Prosecco! We should have ventured out sooner. read more

Found this restaurant totally by accident. Noticed the interesting lighting from the street as my wife and I were about town. Intriguing! So we went in to find an excellent ambience and an interesting menu and decided this was what we were ready for tonight. Starting with a crisp cold champagne welcome, it just got better. The excellent service. The bread. The wine selection. The salad and then the calzone. What a nice dinner. And the great music to tie it all together. We got lucky. Yeah. This was my second time dining at La Cascina. Both occassions were fabulous, but the more recent visit was "to live for." A friend and I shared 3 starters and a pasta, and then we indulged in 2 desserts. The first was creative and fantastically delicious and each dish was possibly better than the last. Our 2 favorites were the Parmesan cheese budino with poached pear, rosemary honey and truffle oil, and their play on an eggplant Parmesan that was ever-so thinly grilled and layered with a delicate tomato sauce and basil olive oil. Little touches that were not overlooked included the perfect density and flavor of the breads, as well as the complimentary assortment of sweets that accompanied the coffee. read more

Don't listen to these fools commenting how the service was "rude" in Italy they don't have to slave away for tips to make minimum wage like in the US so they don't have to tolerate your demanding ass. The ambiance is unparalleled and the food is phenomenal, like one of the greatest meals of my life. It's forever changed the way I look at carbonara. Crispy pork belly? Cream sauce that deserves its own dairy category? Hell yes. Lamb leg so succulent it could cure your depression. Just go here. Their hours are amazing and they are super accommodating, reasonable drink prices and superb layout. There are so many layers to this place I suggest taking the night to explore. It was raining hard and this restaurant was close to the hotel we stayed, we just walked rain into the restaurant. It has a beautiful yard, nice greenhouse room with gas flame fireplace. We were told dinner order will be taken around 7:45 pm. We waited by the fire stove read some fashion mags to kill time. Waiting staff were very friendly. We ordered seafood pasta, Milano veal, prosciutto di parm. Pasta was great, veal is less than mediocre, prosciutto is great and on a large wood board. We found that no matter which restaurant we eat in Italy , pasta can't go wrong. Come during the day and sit outside, it will raise one more star. read more

Not bad at all, I can understand why some people are writing negative comments, because the waiters are not super behaved, they are not shy to laugh ironically while leaving the table, which makes you think are you the CLIENT OR THEY ARE?! I ordered the salad with raw shrimps and avocado sauce, I really liked it, but I would have gave it some punch with acidity. After that I took the risotto with lobster and mango, the risotto is well cooked and delicious, but it was langoustine on top, no lobster... it was tasty so simply call it risotto with langoustine! Overall it wasn't bad but it kept me a bit disapointed, quality vs how much I payed... oh well.... read more

What a beautiful place. We went in the evening and it was a bit windy. It would have been nice to sit outside in their beautiful patio. The inside is elegant. We were a large group and they accommodated us in a large room upstairs. The wine was flowing, thanks to our Collette guided travel. I had the beef in red wine sauce. This restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge. The atmosphere is beautiful and we enjoyed everything we ordered. We started with the crostacei di Mazara e calamaretti spillo and the insalata di pulpo di scoglio--both were fresh and delicious. The carbonara and ravioli dishes were also great, the carbonara being my favorite dish. The grilled lamb chops were also very good. As great as the meal and atmosphere was, I could only give four stars as the service was awful. I believe we had the waiter mentioned in other reviews who was very rude and seemed like customers were a bother to him. However, it seems like the other waiters and waitresses were nice. read more

The concierge at our hotel recommended we eat here, and immediately I was totally impressed...the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. The lights, the outdoor seating, the romantic ambiance, it was all just spectacular. Unfortunately, our waiter was not great. The second we started to speak and he realized we were American's he was rude, and did not go out of his way at all. The menu was in english and italian which was nice. He took our order kind of rudely and pranced away. Literally, pranced. We ordered the black squid ink dish as an appetizer and it literally tasted like salt stew...I am not exaggerating. We didn't know what to do, considering how rude the waiter was...we told him, and he whisked it away. The rest of our food was pretty amazing, but the entire experience was clouded by the salt stew and rude service. If I could come back, I would just order wine and enjoy the gorgeous outdoors. There are much better options for food in Montecatini, but this atmosphere was solid. read more

The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. The waitress however was inattentive from the start to finish. Although we had a minor language barrier we explained that the steak should be medium well several times and her response was "no blood" and we confirmed "no blood". The steak came to our table drenched in blood and my husband immediately sent it back. My food came out and although my steak was also under done I accepted it without complaint and ended up eating alone. After 20 minutes my husband had to waive the waitress down and inquire about his still missing steak and she seemed puzzled that he didn't have it and had no idea it had been sent back. The steak finally arrived burnt to a crisp and was more like rubber than beef. My husband asked for the check and the waitress inquired if he didn't like the steak and my husband explained how burnt and rubbery it was and that he just couldn't eat it. Although she said "sorry" no one else came to inquire anything. Not the best 85 euros we've spent while on vacation. read more
