For several months I planned this project of replacing the carpet in my top floor triplex, with an added twist: the addition of very heavy soundproofing rubber to block noise from the tenants below! After 3 months of planning, checking on pricing for various options, and working with Razmin at the LA Carpet Warehouse, my brand new carpet and soundproofing was installed a few days ago and I love it! I had already decided to go with LA Carpet Warehouse because of the positive Yelp reviews AND because I could have the soundproofing rubber shipped to them and have them install it. I checked around for pricing and got the price for the rubber matting from https://www.tmsoundproofing.com - called Mass Loaded Vinyl - and I used the 2lb per square foot rubber. That stuff is super heavy, but it's also the best material for blocking out TV noise, talking, etc. I knew this would be a big job and requested (and paid for) one additional guy. Even so, this was a full 8 hour day to replace and install 2 bedrooms, closets, hallway, a living room and dining room with rubber and carpet! The 3 guys who came were professional and everything looks great. Factoring in the soundproofing material and installation, this was not cheap, but, after living here for 14 years and having an excellent relationship with my landlords who rarely raise my rent, it was worth paying for this upgrade that makes my life calmer and brighter. I purchased 2 rooms of carpet from LA carpet and 3 rooms of carpet from Empire Carpet on 3/22/21. I contacted LA Carpet in June 2023 and advised them that in both rooms the carpet had started to wrinkle. I was told the warranty had expired and it would cost $180 per room to send someone out to remove the wrinkles. I was shocked that the Shaw carpet wrinkled in such a short time, especially in a room that hardly has foot traffic. Also, this carpet is supposed to a much better quality than the less expensive Empire carpet, which has a whole lot of foot traffic and that carpet is fine. I definitely will never purchase from this business again. I had some one look at the carpet and was advised that the installation of the carpet was botched. It is wrinkled in so many areas. read more

I was referred here for carpet. I was told to tell them that a certain person had referred me. That was red flag #1. Anytime someone tells you to tell a company that you were referred by someone, it usually means that the person is either getting a discount or a referral fee. In other words, they are not referring the company because the company does a good job, is reasonable, etc. They are making the referral because they are getting paid in some way. Before I went, I read the reviews. There was a negative review that said the carpet install comes with a 1 year installation warranty. The reviewer had an issue within the year, but when the person requested warranty service, they were told that install issues normally occur within the first few days. Red flag #2. I went to get an estimate. For "fun," I asked about the installation warranty and was told there was a 2 year installation warranty but that any issues usually occurred within the first few days. Same spiel as the reviewer was given. So they extended the warranty by one year to make it appear like you are getting some benefit even though they have no intention of honoring it unless you have an issue within the first few days. Thanks, but no thanks. I opted to get carpet from Home Depot instead at half the cost with a LIFETIME installation warranty which both the sales rep at HD AND the person from the carpet installer informed me of. (Disclaimer: the HD carpet was NOT the same carpet as the one I got an estimate for so the cost is not exactly comparable. I forget the square footage cost, but I think at most, the cost of the carpet was double, but I was not getting much carpet, so the cost of the installation portion was about double as well.) The sales person at LA Carpet was nice, but I wouldn't buy carpet from this company. read more

My experience with LA Carpet Warehouse could not have been better. I had all but given up on what I wanted, which was a Leopard print carpet for my staircases. Enter, Frank, the miracle worker. He found me exactly what I wanted, The same day I called with the decision to install it, he himself came out to measure. He ordered the carpet and it was installed nano seconds after it was received from Georgia. The installers couldn't have been better and did a much better job than had the previous carpet installers. I normally don't take the time to write reviews, but felt this experience was warranted. Im from Canada and through mis-adventures wound up investing in a rental property in Pasadena CA. It came time to change the carpet my last tenant destroyed. Initially I coordinated with another flooring shop in Alhambra (which I will leave nameless), who was going to install LVT flooring. Only a few days before the install date the store owner attempted to increase the invoice amount by nearly 25%. I was really upset and decided to cancel the job, worried that he may hike the price again. I lost all trust in him and did not want to end up in a. dispute with him at the end of the job, or a legal claim of some sort. About the same time as I was making my decision I had called LA Carpet and spoke to Frank who recommend a clear-out premium shaw carpet at nearly 1/2 of the original sticker price. I didn't want to go with carpet, but after the experience with the shop that was going to install the LVT, I decided to call Frank back. Being from out of town, I was worried all the shops were like this. Frank sent me his estimate and it was detailed the same as our conversation (approx $2800/installed). I paid 1/2 upfront and at the end of the job the invoice remained the same. The installer Frank used was Sergio, who come with one other guy. Both we're very pleasant and professional. The job took all day (10:am - 6:00pm) which was much longer than Frank had anticipated. Sergio explained that the premium carpet was actually harder to work with, and required more care to install (the weight, quality and material construction). He took his time and and did clean job. He was also very polite. I also had just finished painting the entire apartment, and gratefully, Sergio and his helper were so careful, that they left no marks on the walls.
