This place had been recommended by a couple of friends, but we had no idea how good it would be…read more The menu offers a large selection of savory crepes; I think they also had sweet, but we didn't look at those. We ended up going for dinner twice in less than a week, and we got six different crepes. These aren't street crepes that taste and look fried (not that that's a bad thing!). They seem fresh and less greasy. The first time around, I got a ratatouille crepe, which was excellent. My wife got a curry crepe, and she loved it. They had other meat, seafood, cheeses, fun names and ingredients that you wouldn't even think of. The location is at the far east end of the tourist strip, so it's a little less crazy than just a couple of blocks away. The entrance is a bit hidden even though it's just off the street. It's in a cellar, which keeps it cooler, although it can get crowded quickly. We didn't have reservations, but we showed up right when it opened and found out that it fills up quickly. The prices are cheap for the size and quality of the crepes: everything runs from about $3 to $7. Just remember: cash only!

It was very small and only had about 7-10 options. Half of those options are fish and ones that I wouldn't eat like raw salmon and snail.

I had a seafood platter and my daughter tried the hamburger, and both were excellent: carefully prepared, fresh, lovely flavors. The atmosphere was so comfortable and relaxing, with very unpretentious but lovely décor. The owners and staff are super friendly and accommodating. And of course, if you haven't heard yet, there's an affectionate but dignified house labrador named Fil d'Or who watches over the diners and is always ready for a pet. A good thing, because the place was pretty full when we showed up for dinner. It's a popular place. Staff/owner was very friendly. Our Bulldog was welcome here as well. Had a bottle of wine. Ordered the goat cheese salad and escargots for starters. Both fine items. Escargots were great. For the main we've had the maigret de canard (duck breast) and the veal liver. Both with fries - which were really hot and crispy. The liver was nicely done. Great flavour, tender. The only fault in the food was entirely on us: we ordered the duck medium-well. Which it was. Should have ordered it medium. Besides that it was a wonderful piece of meat. If you don't need a view with your dinner, then this place is definitely worth a try. And offers freshly cooked, quality meals for great value.
