Red velvet gelato. Delicious! Had it twice during my trip.

Date of Visit: 11/9/19 We stumbled across this shop while we were in the area. We had just come from El Xampanyet for lunch after leaving the Picasso Museum. All of these places are within walking distance of each other. La Campana is a combination candy and gelato shop. They have a nice selection of gelato flavors. There were two in particular I was trying to decide between so I asked if they did samples, which they do. I ended up settling on the red velvet gelato and it was delicious. We came back here one more time during our stay in Barcelona. Staff on both occasions were a bit sterile but I'd still recommend a visit if you're in the area. Demasie is also close by so if you're planning to go there (you definitely should), then swing by here too.

Yum ice cream! Everyone needs an ice cram break while walking around Barcelona & La Campana provided just the right treat! Flan with Caramel and white chocolate for me; Flan with Caramel & Turron for the Mr We liked the subtly sweet yet creamy flavors of the ice cream & would even liken it to more of a gelato - it was so intensely packed full of flavor Huge fans!

Have been looking to buy some torrons back to the states for souvenir but didn't see any I like while at La Ramblas. After visiting the Picasso Museum, I walked pass by La Campana and was drawn in by the store front and the fact that the store was opened since 1890! Can't go wrong if they have been in business for 126 years! I ended up getting some original torrons (web description: hard nougat based on 64% Marcona Mediterranean Almond measure 14/16 and rosemary honey, faithfully following our origins and ancestral recipe. It's got the certificate of origin from Jijona regulatory council, cradle of fine Nougat. It has whole almonds, it's easy to see the quantity and quality of the almond, and the texture is crunchy. It's an unbeatable classic) and some chocolate covered almonds. I've never tried torrons because of the hard texture but after one try of La Campana's torrons, I regretted not buying more. Indeed the torrons were packed full of whole almonds and the texture is slightly crunchy with just the right amount of sweetest. It's not soft and chewy that stick to your teeth but it's hard so recommend cutting it into smaller pieces to eat. I didn't want to shatter the bar and just took bites out of it. Only do it if you have strong teeth!

So, I'd made the mistake of trying to waltz in to the Picasso museum on a Sunday without pre-paid tickets.

Came here today 1/4/2016. Kinda bummed. They don't have Horchata. And won't have it til March. Oh…read moreman March for real. Passed by three times and finally open and bam sorry we don't carry it. Ugh!! Lady was nice but pretty sad they don't carry it all year long.

Yum.. I'm drooling thinking about their horchata and ice cream…read more I think they're mostly well known for their horchata - I saw people filling up empty liter bottles to bring home (pretty reasonably priced at €4). It's a little different than horchatas you typically get in the US - it's less sweet, a little nuttier.. like someone said in a previous review, it reminded me a lot of Chinese soy drinks. We also had ice cream here - soo delicious! One of the staff told us that the 2 most popular flavors were the almond flavor and the llet merengada flavor. The latter is some kind of milk-based ice cream (it translates to "milk meringue"). They put cinnamon on it. I don't know what exactly is in the ice cream but it was so. amazing. Staff was great - patient and willing to explain the flavors to non-locals. It's a little chaotic there especially in the evening, but they've got a really organized system (you take one of those number tabs like at the DMV, and they call out your number when it's your turn). It was so good we had to come back again another day. Good thing we don't live in Barcelona or we'd be here all the time!
