Just friendly service and seriously good, freshly made food. I ordered a combo to try a few things outside my usual comfort zone: panucho, salbute, and their style of empanada. Everything was delicious, and even my to-go order was plated beautifully. The chicken was juicy and packed with flavor, but that hot sauce? BABY, I was not prepared. Consider yourself warned! Love supporting a local family-owned gem like this. I'll be back in no time!

Long review but I think it's important to say what needs to be said:…read more THE SHORT VERSION; First time visiting this place since reviews were generally good and it's truly something special to see a restaurant specializing in Yucatecan food only. The food was different than your standard Mexican offering and overall very good, good seasoning and portions. Pricing was not out of what would be expected for quality Mexican food. The service, unfortunately, was half baked, which is really sad for me to see as a staunch supporter of local, immigrant owned businesses and being a child of immigrants myself and knowing how much hard work is involved in maintaining a business alive. THE LONGER VERSION; It was apparent that the waitress that served us during our visit could not only benefit from more training in offering (and caring to offer) a better customer service experience / better table side communication but also needs to make the connection about how her actions affect the livelihood of a business that others have undoubtedly worked very hard for. But, I guess this assumes she wants to genuinely work there. To begin with, my party was greeted by a poorly delivered and off putting joke about making sure she served us lots of alcohol; delivered in a way that in Spanish is known as "ser llevado" or overly familiar. Odd to make jokes like that when you just met someone visiting your business for the first time, but we passed it off as just a poor attempt to connect. Fine, we moved on. The music was extremely loud. When we asked if it could be lowered somewhat, she lowered the volume from an 11 to a 2, which then made the ask not only awkward but almost passive aggressive. (I only say this because once we left, we heard the volume quickly go back to 11, as if they were just waiting for us to leave to crank the volume back up again). The waitress did explain the dishes well, letting us know what the unique ones were. However, in the middle of our conversation a guy walked through the door and it was obvious that there's a connection between them because she then got more impatient explaining things to us as said guy moved to sit at a table towards the back of the restaurant. We completed our order, she served us and then kind of disappeared to wait on the other table, we thought. When she did happen to pass by our table again, I politely asked for additional plates and silverware, when she had a chance, to which she replied that I could pick them up myself from near the register area. Her response seemed out place since we were dining in and we were under the impression that she was our waitress, so I asked her again for silverware, not plastic utensils. Again, she told me that I could pick up plastic utensils myself from the register, pointing, "see they're right there" and walked away to the kitchen. We were still processing the exchange, a bit in disbelief, when she then appeared with requested silverware and additional plates but visibly annoyed and in some kind of hurry. It was really hard to focus on enjoying our meal after that. The waitress then made her way to the back table to sit next to, one could now only presume was her boyfriend, and we never saw her again. She never checked on us, asked if we needed anything, etc. Her priority was staying seated and chatting it up with that guy. Who did come to check on us was the owner, who seems to have cooked the meals and walked out of the kitchen to speak with us. He asked if we had enjoyed the food, if it was our first time there, talked about how he sourced his ingredients, shared some of the restaurant's history. Then he walked away to continue working. Unfortunately, we were forced to engage again with the waitress (who remained seated at the back table) and had to ask her across the restaurant where we should pay. Before she answered from her chair (didn't even get up to speak with us and was getting ready to yell back at us from her seat) the owner appeared at the register and told us we could pay with him. Unfortunately, the whole service experience did negatively color our desire to return to this place again. Giving more like 3.5 stars because the food was good but not enough to overlook the unpleasant service.

I'm glad they kept the truck even after opening a restaurant because this Rialto location, parked outside Walmart near Willow and Baseline, is very convenient for us. They honestly have some of the best fish and shrimp tacos and burritos in the area. The seafood is usually fresh, crispy, and flavorful, and the sauce they use brings everything together perfectly. Our favorite burritos are the Baja King Burrito and the Surf and Turf Burrito. We've also tried their carne asada fries, which were some of the best we've had, and the shrimp and octopus cocktail, which was also really good--fresh, flavorful, and a great option when you want something lighter than tacos or a burrito. The only reason I took off one star was because of one Taco Tuesday experience when the fish tacos were $1.75. The fish tasted like it had been fried in old or overused oil. I understand they may have been handling a lot of orders that day, and thankfully it only happened once. Every other visit has been consistently good. Another big plus is that you can call ahead and place your order by phone. That's what we usually do, so the food is ready when we arrive. Overall, Baja King is one of our family's go-to food trucks for seafood tacos, burritos, and more. We'll definitely keep coming back

Clean establishment 5/5 Friendly/ attentive staff 5/5 Varieties of food options 5/5 Deliciousness 5/5 Jo / Judith both helped us with our orders, service by these two ladies were excellent. Caldo De res & Menudo in 104° weather ? Why not , I love soup in any type of weather . My go to now for Menudo , sadly it's only offered on weekends and when it sells out that's it. Caldo de res & Menudo were equally well seasoned , they were not skimping on the meat , it was big chunks of beef and lots of tripe . $2 extra to add pata . I had a bite of my friend's trio chicken , shrimps and beef enchiladas , Oh my goodness I never had moist and flavorful chicken enchiladas in all my days eating chicken enchiladas at other restaurants. Here at Sazon it , chicken enchiladas was delicious our eyes lit up and simultaneously "oohhh so good ". Will definitely be back ...

Still very casual and simple--not really an IG-worthy kind of place. Service was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. The chips & salsa were a solid 4/5--thin, crispy chips and a slightly smoky salsa with a nice kick. Beans were thick and creamy (4/5), rice was basic/ traditional (3.5/5). The chile relleno was a 2.5/5 for me. I love this dish, but they use panela cheese, which didn't have much flavor and didn't get that melty, gooey texture I prefer. The chicken enchilada with green sauce was definitely the winner--5/5! That sauce was SO flavorful and easily my favorite part of the meal. The pineapple agua fresca was also refreshing. Overall, 3.5/5. Not my favorite atmosphere or chile relleno, but I loved the enchilada and it's always nice finding a local spot to support.

I've never spent any time in Fontana so this was a first experience here. Had to pick something up…read morewhich lead us to here. Rush hour is still no joke trying to get anywhere these days. Trying to find a place along the strip was pretty hard. We asked someone where to go for food and they even mentioned for us to go to Rancho if we wanted something fancy. But with traffic and going the opposite direction, that made the decision to stay. Let me say, Fontana does have a lot of Mexican restaurants to choose from. Good in a sense but bad as you don't know which one is good. We originally stopped off at a place that was recommended but from the look out front, they were renovating while the place was still open. It just didn't looked welcoming. It could have but first impression wasn't there. Hence we ended up here which was literally a minute or so from it. Theres a massive parking lot for the restaurant. As we were walking in, they do have a pretty big patio area that looks out to the lot. There's also a section that inside. We didn't know that you would have to order at the counter and the seat yourself. Found that out later. The inside section was smaller but it's where you would go if you wanted the ac. It was hot but bearable so we were ok with sitting outside. Menu, a bit of everything. Downfall, we did asked if they had happy hour as that what we were looking for but they didn't. The cashier didn't really understand what we meant but said they had it on Tuesday which was odd for one day. She probably meant taco Tuesday specials. Oh, they don't serve alcohol so there goes happy hour...lol... Food, we got an order of the enchiladas plate which came with beans and rice for a really affordable price. It was pretty filling and quite nice. I was craving ceviche but they didn't really have it but did have tostada with shrimp cocktail. It was decent but too sweet for me. That wasn't too filling so ordered some of the street tacos. They're quite small so a few were ordered. The Al pastor tends to be my go too but these were a little on the overcooked and dry side. The birria was quite nice and juicy. And lastly the carnitas, it was good and cooked well but overall the birria was the winner. Food was good so that was nice. Just didn't like the ordering first and seating yourself. They also had a salsa bar with 4 choices to choose from as well as hot beans where you can serve yourself. That's a first with the beans for me as I've never been to a place where you can serve yourself beans. Plus chips are an additional fee. Overall, the place was nice. Tacos and enchiladas were great.
