People watching was great and I love their spin on patatas bravas! We also had a bocadillo jamón y queso that was damn good (ham and cheese sandwich!). This place was risky because it it's right in the middle of the old district amidst shops of all different kinds. Somewhere can look nice on the outside but be a bit rubbish on the inside, but Tramuntana was not one of these places - in fact is was surprisingly nice! Firstly, the food (the most important bit). As an Englishman who'd just moved to Mallorca, I'd never heard of "Pintxos" before. The menu contains Tapas and Pintxos, with Pintxos being warm versions of 'things on bread', around the same size as Tapas. These are fantastic! We had the mini beefburger, and veal with caramelised onions - both had the onions and they were brilliant! So definitely try those. We were hungry but not starving, and had a mix of 6 Tapas and Pintxos between us and we're pretty full by the end. If you order the cold Tapas you have to stand up and go to the counter to order it, but Pintxos are ordered at your table. We were waiting about 20 minutes to order our food and I had to ask about the Pintxos, so try that if you're concerned about waiting a while. There's free WiFi here; (I'm writing my review off it) and the password is "atasteofspain" without the quotes. The waiters are friendly but a little slow - I think this is a Spanish thing here though. With great food and milkshakes, we're definitely going to be coming here again. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because of the time taken to get our food, so don't come here if you're in a rush (ours was a late lunch).

We would take the flavor over the chaos. Or what seems to be chaos: narrow parking lot or idiotic…read morepeople walking in front or behind our moving car. At that point I felt, 'it'll be YOUR fault'. Besides that, step inside and leave the world behind because Moli de Sal is very much a rustic-eating on the ranch/farm vibe. Aside from the meat-heavy, male dominated servers/no women servers, the grounds are strangely enchanting. Take for instance the twisty thick branches encroaching the stone pillars, the softly lit stone pathway, the brassy floor lamp in one corner or the bamboo ceiling we sat under. Even with the dated reviews here, this place has generated enough buzz because on the night we came, the place was packed. Reserve, reserve, reserve like we did. Moli de Sal looks like nothing from the main road- because of its marquee OPEN sign. If GPS takes you through the backroads leading here, then you'll see Moli's real farm feel. The German(?) husband+ wife team truly keep things afloat cleverly. They're on hand for assistance in Eng+Spa. as well as the servers who truly cinch the floor swiftly and speak English. Chalkboard menus are huge and list the day's bounty. Cooking is as rustic as can be as the chef cranks his grill and fires it up. Hubs didn't think he was going to like the steak but he loved it when the chef expertly prepped it med-well. My red snapper was kissed softly with salt and char- but it was mind-blowing juicy. If you're driving through town or staying in town like we were, Moli is worth every effort.

We crossed it multiple times while driving across the island and one day decided to visit. They open on Friday evenings and the for lunch from 1200-1800 HRS on Saturday and Sunday. Not sure if this is their regular timings or winter special. The ranch itself is quite huge. Decent number of animals - couple of exotic looking monkeys, 3 parrots - Shakira, Fernando and Kika :) Fernando being the most friendly - dancing when you come near it, climbs on to you if you extend your hand. Shakira was friendly as well. You could pet her on the head or the back. When you withdraw your hand, she would then point a different area on her back where she would like you to massage next :) Horses, Llama sorts, Ostriches, Turkey, Guinea Pigs etc. Now, coming to the food - awesome barbecue selection! We ordered the mixed barbecue platter for EUR 32 - with garlic bread, baked potato, olives and couple of dips are complimentary. They tasted yumm! They have a barbecue station just outside and everything was freshly made. Service was great as well. Very warm people. They have benches outside as well with a children specific area as well with some play slides etc. They also seemed to have a 2nd barbecue station which seemed like anyone could come over and use. May be for a small fee, I am not sure. But a really great idea. Highly recommend this place for a visit to have the barbecued delights and as well as a fun outing for the kids.
