We explained that we were very hungry, but he insisted we were asking for too much and actually refused to take our order. Eventually, we had to reduce the number of plates we were ordering just so he would take our order. I ordered an appetizer, but when I tried to order my main dish, he again refused because he said it was too much food. At that point, I just decided to eat from my friend's plate instead. Then, after telling us we were ordering too much, one of my friends was still hungry and wanted to order the steak. Suddenly, the issue was that it was going to take too long to prepare. So first we were told we were ordering too much, and then when we wanted to add a steak later, we were told it would take too long. We eventually managed to order it, accompanied by a pretty obvious eye roll. And to top it all off, when we asked for dessert -- one each -- the server seemed genuinely shocked that four people wanted four desserts instead of sharing one. Honestly, the whole experience was just very weird and uncomfortable. I felt judged the entire time based on how much we wanted to order, and I've never had a server refuse to take my order because they thought I was ordering too much food.
