This is the most unprofessional business I have ever been to. I've been to maybe 3 sessions prior to my last session. My last session was ok nothing out the usual. Once it was time for my next session I didn't get a reminder so I called the store to find out my appointment time. The supervisor answers and informed me that my account was placed on hold. I ask why and she says that the last person to wax me says I asked her for inappropriate activity. Highly upset I asked the supervisor to have that person investigated because that was an accusation and I was highly upset. I went on to let her know how disgusted I was and upset. No one reached out to me to discuss prior but was quick to accuse me. I asked if there were any recordings of conversation and there isn't any. I asked for the owner to reach out. I was told I would be contacted. I called a total of 4 times with no return call or owner. Finally after 3 weeks of no contact the supervisor calls back and says my membership was canceled. Take in mind there was no investigation done to protect the customer from false accusations. The owner never reached out and I did all the communication on something that was 100% inaccurate and unprofessional. Not only did you not protect your customer but you did not hold your staff accountable for falsely accusing. read more

I have visited this sugaring studio for probably the past 3 years. Overall, the front desk staff is friendly, facility is clean, and I usually have a great experience with one particular sugarist--Katy Mathis. My reason for giving two stars is because prior to Katy, my experience at LA Bikini was consistently inconsistent due to the high level of turnover with staff members. Some were rude, some inefficient, some apathetic. But when I met Katy, I knew she was someone I had to lock in as a permanent service provider. FYI ladies--when you're getting hair ripped out of your hoo ha, having a relationship with the person doing it is paramount. You have to be comfortable with the person doing it, and the staff at LA Bikini seemed to be so unpredictable before Katy that I almost stopped going altogether. Now, to reach my point for giving two stars: as a business, why the hell would you sever the relationship with one of your longest-employed service providers with whom your loyal clients have built a relationship over the years? As a customer, I feel like the decision to take away someone who provided me with such excellent service was a poor business move. Because I do not trust the service of others who are currently employed by your facility (not saying that they're not excellent staff members--I just don't know them or have a relationship with them due to the extremely high turnover I've observed over the years as a customer), I can no longer patronize this establishment. And that makes me sad, because it's not easy to build a relationship with someone who will be responsible for accessing our most sensitive areas. I don't know where Katy is now, but just due to the sheer lack of consideration that LA Bikini has shown towards its customers in severing a relationship with someone highly valued by those who pay them to employ people they trust, I'll no longer be attending this establishment. read more

I've been a customer for years. This is such a great alternative to waxing. There has been quite a bit of turnover in staff however it appears to be stable now. Emily, the manager, has such a great attitude that she will build a team that offers the excellent service that she does. A good tip is to book your follow up appointment before you leave. They do get busy and you may not get the time/day that you want. read more

With a bunch of hits and misses at this establishment the final nail in the coffin was when I recently discovered my long time sugarist, Katy Mathis, was let go. Needing to get taken care of, against my better judgement, I made an appt anyway with whoever was available. I wasn't even aware sugaring could hurt so badly. It was like the sugarist was mad at my hair for having the audacity to even be there in the first place. Katy was kind, gentle, and a hoot to chat with...I always looked forward to my appts. Any friend looking for a recommendation I would send them right her way, and tell them to request her specifically. Staff is friendly and service is prompt. I've never done waxing or sugaring by a professional. The first session was rough but the second maintenance session I had was much better since the hair had thinned out. They try to get you to do a membership/contract but I've read it's a pain to end the membership and in the long run could cost you more. I've just been going every two to three weeks and this seems to be doing the trick. read more

Oh my goodness. After weeks of working 4-6 days in a row of 13 hour shifts in a hospital- and doing nursing school, I was so happy to spoil myself a little. Covid-19 certainly put a damper on my personal grooming. But thanks to Emily, all is well again. She was extremely thorough, yet very gentle. And it was quick. I was shocked at how fast she was. I started going to LA Bikini about four months ago. I've enjoyed the whole sugaring experience way more than waxing. However, the last session I had was the best so far. 1. The staff is incredibly rude. 2. The location is not the cleanest, there is dirt on the floor and molding in areas coming apart. 3. There is no privacy as your services are performed behind a sheet. 4. I was signed up for a membership without it being explained to me that the membership would cost $70 a month. I have now spent over $300 for 1 procedure. I tried to correct with the staff and I was met with a rude and condescending "manager". I asked why I would sign up for a membership that I didnt use and then she insisted she didn't know why people did stupid things. With 2 new actual spas opening up I would definitely recommend giving them a try and skipping this business. read more

So, I must admit, this was the first time I experienced a Brazilian be it traditional wax or sugar. My technician was extremely professional and, thank god, didn't attempt to engage me in mindless chatter, because I didn't have the breath nor the wherewithal to engage in conversation, polite or otherwise. Whoever said that this method was painless was a damn liar. I lost my breath after the first snatch and didn't get it back until 10 minutes after the technician was done. I actually thought I was going to be a bloody mess after it was over. Imagine my shock when it wasn't even red. I can truthfully say, when it was finally over and I could breath again, that I was thrilled at the results. And I'm going to repeat the process in two weeks. I guess, like having a baby, you forget the pain. Would I recommend this to my friends? Well, maybe not the Brazilian, but I would recommend LA Bikini. read more

I entered into the establishment on a Saturday in March after talking with the receptionist about their specials.. I elected to start the unlimited waxing for a certain price each month. Location appeared to be well informed in bikini waxes until I laid on the table. 10 minutes into the service the waxer explained I was her third bikini wax EVER!!! Then the person servicing me ran out of supplies and left me on the table for 20 minutes so she could run to the store get more supplies. I assumed that was something you would do before an assigned appointment comes in. After the most HORRIBLE SUGAR WAXING I EVER RECEIVED. I informed the front that I wanted to cancel my service and just pay for whatever service I was rendered that day...SHE CANCELED MY MEMEBERSHIP ( so I thought). Last week I lost my card and had to get another one... I receive a call IN JUNE concerning payment. I explained my HORRIBLE EXPERIANCE and also informed them that I have not been in since MARCH... Have not been in since MARCH also going to another establishment since MARCH...explain to me why am I being charged when I cancelled the MEMEBERSHIP not even an hour AFTER SIGNING IT?! I have gotten regular brazilians from the most popular hot wax chain for two years.....since moving to the area and not being happy with the results at the local hot wax franchise, I thought I would give LA Bikini a try! I was very skeptical. I have to say though, it's BETTER. The hair is equally removed from the root, more completely with fewer strays, no post wax residue and ZERO irritation. The "pain" was similar but tolerable....skin super smooth and no bumps. This is my new go-to. Plus the staff is professional, competent and makes you feel comfortable. The lady was so sweet and that part of it went great, but then I wake up and shower the next morning (didn't sweat in sleep).. my face is splotchy and my neck and legs. I have never had this happen and I've gotten the mystic spray tan many times. I don't know if it is just my skin but I will probably never get this again. Was originally a member at the mountain brook location since last August. Throughout my tenure with la bikini, I can say I have never had a positive experience when booking an appointment or arriving at the salon. I have been to both the Hoover and the Mountain Brook locations and the customer service across the board has been the most negative encounter I have ever dealt with any business. The front desk is always unpleasant and unaccommodating and quite frankly the reviews on this page have me bewildered. My most recent experience with the franchise two days ago was the coup de grace and final patronage I will ever contribute again. When canceling my membership nothing was communicated to me about the terms, such as you are not able to use services that you have previously paid for once you cancel. I have never heard of such a thing until the other night since every business I know with membership deals roll over unused and paid services. La bikini charged my credit card without my authorization that mind you was not even on file and caused an overdraft to my account when they were clearly told not to. I can confidently say that I will no longer give this franchise business and will make no further recommendations to friends. read more

Went for the first time after friends gushed about sugaring over waxing being so much better. I got my service done by a very knowledgeable technician who was careful and sweet as well, only to not be satisfied because after paying $60 plus tip I still had hair and it was enough to grab. I was told to tweeze the rest and come back in 3 weeks to get the rest. I paid for a complete service only to not get it. A few of the ladies providing the services are great. Many are pretty impatient and short tempered. Also my main concern came recently with having to cancel an appt. If I wake up the day of my appointment and my cycle has started how is it ok that I still be charged $35? Clearly it's not a good time for a wax. Especially when I have a medical condition that makes it impossible to know when my cycles will start or stop. Instead of explaining the policy the lady answering the phone was pretty rude about the whole thing. Not appreciated at all. Needless to say I'm glad to be coming to an end of my monthly payments with them. I will probably also be looking for another wax salon. read more
