She told me that she had called me 20 minutes ago (10:55 am) to indicate that she'd be late but that I didn't pick up her call. I might have been in the parkade at that time and, therefore, had no reception. However, I was definitely not happy that she was so late and her attempt to give me "heads up" 5 minutes before the appointment time was not cool. Her workstation was a shared space with another owner? It was a tiny little corner. What really bothered me was how unclean her workstation was. I tried very hard to not show any signs of discontent as I didn't want her to ruin my nails. It didn't look like she had cleaned up her workstation from the prior day at all! There was nail dust EVERYWHERE and on everything - the nail polishes, the nail files, the table where I was getting my nails done, etc. I was extremely afraid of hitting something accidentally and have other people's nail dust showering on me. There was also dried up nail polish on the table, on her tools, etc. The whole environment was very unhygienic and gross, and I couldn't wait for the service to be over. Manicure is supposed to be a spa and treat for yourself, where you come to be pampered, and enjoy the service. I was NOT relaxed at all as I was hyper aware of all the dirty things around me. The environment also did not match the name of this place - "Happy Dream Beauty Lounge".

I have…read morehad dozens of shellac and gel manicures in the past and nothing has ever lasted more than 8 or 9 days. My manicures with Nicole have lasted 21 and 22 days! Also, another thing I love about coming here is that my nails are left feeling healthy after the shellac comes off. I have always had very thin and brittle nails, and usually, I have to let my nails heal and regrow for a month or two afterward before I can let my nails grow longer again because they're usually so thin that they bend back easily and it hurts a lot. The space is not fancy, but the quality of the manicure is worth giving up the fancy salon. I actually have just recently had a manicure (a gift) at a very fancy downtown salon that was almost twice the price of Happy Dream, and my nails and cuticles are garbage after taking off the polish. I will never go anywhere else.

Her name is Hannah and she is maticulous. I am very particular in what I like and Hannah takes the time to listen to your minor adjustments with grace and patience. I believe I have seen Hannah for my nail 5 times now and I can attest that she has become quicker with her work. I popped open my phone to find a nail salon where I could hopefully walk in and treat my recently snowboard-worn feet. After hopping around the area, I finally stumbled across Four Seasons Nails & Spa who were able to take me in immediately on a Sunday afternoon. The chair at the pedicure station was comfortable and great for a quick massage. The woman who took care of me was super pleasant, but also respected the general peace that I was in much need of. After an hour, my feet looked as good as new and felt great despite having been relatively sore before. Two weeks later, and the polish still looks like the first day it was put on. Furthermore, the prices here are super reasonable - far cheaper than an equivalent pedicure back in Seattle. Don't forget to bring your own flip flops if you're getting a pedicure! They don't have any to supply, and you'll otherwise get stuck waiting for your nails to completely dry so you can put your socks/shoes back on. Also, contrary to some of the listings out there, they do in fact take card.
