We had shade trees and some parts are really shady. Hosts are very nice and great tour guides. We didn't use the baths but laundry good, $2 load. They have a dog walk up front and a giant dog park about .3 mile from front. It's a walk, but nice. Wifi is pretty much non-existent. Tried to pick up local channels thru air since no cable, but couldn't get any locals. Had to stream Cowboys/Buccs game via ATT but still blurry. Probably a good thing. If you are in Santa Fe to sightsee, this is a great place. Go to MeowWolf. Eat at La Choza. Get Bryan's Auto Detail to come clean your RV.

The main problem for me is the noise from Cerritos Blvd. Nothing can stop this as young New Mexico drivers seem to be "praised" and "adored" for removing their mufflers from their cars and racing away from every stop light. All this leads to my initial point. This campground was likely plotted in the 1950's when this part of Sante Fe was ranches way outside of the metro and road noise was never an issue... The vintage-ness exudes from this place and provides it with its charm - It brings back memories of road trips in the backwards facing seat way in the back of the Country Squire Station Wagon and Olds Vista cruiser wagon - Even visits to summer camp in the 1960/70's. This campground is actually a tiny piece of Americana that will be lost in a few months, never to be again. Beautiful tress to be eliminated and vintage adobe buildings to be razed. If my information is correct, this is the last summer, and this site will fall to the hands of developers to build another ugly mini mall or faceless and devoid of personality condo buildings. A sad farewell to the place and to all the people who have kept this place all these years - PLEASE DO STAY HERE until it all ends. I am unsure of the dates.

Both ways, north or south. Rail Runner is clean and comfortable. Crew are polite and professional. This time I had a great SF lunch with an old friend. I waited here for the rail runner train to Albuquerque, which arrived perfectly on time, and was painless to figure out even for a visitor like me. You just wait based on the schedule, it shows up, and you can buy your ticket online or on-board. You can also buy a day pass, which is worth it if you plan to ride more than one way, a significant savings. This stop has a large parking lot for commuters, and bike lockers for those who routinely would bike to and/or from the stop. It's right in the heart of the downtown area of Santa Fe, and there are plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop nearby while you wait. For me, it was an excellent junction point for my trip. Served it's purpose, this public transit is GREAT, and the ABQ/Santa Fe area is lucky to have it.

From the moment we arrived, Zaniya (hopefully I'm spelling that correctly!) and Maria at the front desk were so friendly, personable, and professional. They were incredibly accommodating and gave us some great recommendations for breakfast. Their hospitality really made us feel welcome. The rooms are so cool and unique, with each one decorated around a different theme. Our room was clean, comfortable, and full of character--nothing like a typical cookie-cutter hotel. We also loved the history of the property. Originally opened in 1955 as the Town House Inn, it was part of the classic motor-lodge era and later became the Pecos Trail Inn. It still has that nostalgic 1950s charm, with plenty of character and history woven into the experience. If you're ever headed to Santa Fe, stay here! Great people, a fun and unique room, lots of history, and that old-school Santa Fe charm. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

At Hotel St. Francis the AC had been broken for at least three days before we arrived. Staff knew and said nothing, no heads-up even though a toddler was coming. We found out only after unloading the car and checking in. Nobody offered to move us or help with our bags. To make it right, St. Francis promised an upgraded room at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa (a clearly worse hotel). The Eldorado made it worse. We'd said plainly we needed to be away from the pool because our toddler's naps depended on it. They agreed, then put us closer than promised, then moved us to a room that was a downgrade from the upgrade we were owed. The third-floor windows swung fully open, no limiter, with a couch underneath to climb and nothing to catch a fall. We found a prescription pill on the floor from a previous guest, where our daughter could reach it. Photos of both. At 2 AM my phone slipped under the bed, security was no help, and my wife sliced her hand on a rusty staple while we lifted the mattress and boxspring ourselves. A crib we confirmed twice never showed. And when I calmly asked housekeeping how much longer they'd be, 20-plus minutes past nap time, they cut me off mid-sentence. Twice. We escalated formally to Heritage leadership and got a partial refund for St. Francis, nothing else. No word on my wife's injury, the medication, the broken upgrade promise, or the travel credit we lost because they never disclosed the AC problem in time to cancel. We followed up repeatedly and it's still unresolved. This wasn't one bad night, it was failure on failure across two properties, some of it dangerous, with corporate no better. We won't be back, and with little kids, think hard before booking here. Cainan Harris, their VP of Operations, should find a new role, because cleaning up messes his hotels created isn't a strength.

One aspect of our stay at Hotel St. Francis that was new is the one-to-one text capability set up by the front desk before or arrival. It was a nice perk, being able to immediately get a response to any and all questions and requests. Very nice feature to have. We'd definitely stay here again! Recommend this hotel!

I was on a train travel adventure and managed to get a little stranded at the Lamy station (my…read morefriend's car broke down en route to come retrieve me, and she was still hours away), but it ended up being such a bright spot in the middle of my trek. First of all, the station itself is really cool. It's tucked up near some beautiful hills and the trees surrounding the picnic area provide lovely shade and make it a picturesque place to kill a little time. Inside, there is a little waiting room with super cool art and signage, and in the back there is a cozy pub with a great beer selection and even a food menu. They have WiFi that they freely share, and that afternoon there was a guitarist playing mellow tunes while folks just hung out. I'm not sure how I got so lucky to find such a gem of a place to post up; I spent much of the time marveling at my good fortune (and drinking a tasty beer). As cool as the station is, the real find was the people who staff and patronize it. You couldn't ask for a more welcoming or warm group of humans. As soon as I asked the station master about alternative modes of transit, my plight made the rounds. Before I knew it I had complete strangers offering me rides to various points so I could meet up with my friend. And while that at first might sound a little sketch, I can honestly say that it was just well-intentioned kindness. There is a palpable sense of community that permeates the entire place, and one can't help but soak it up. I ended up accepting a ride from a lovely gentleman who was on his way north with his college-aged daughter. What could have been a stressful travel delay actually ended up being an unexpected but wonderful mini adventure, and I managed to discover a magical little realm in a small train station seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Lessons (less learned than) reiterated and reinforced: the journey is just as important as the destination, accept the kindness of strangers and then turn around and offer it to others, and when possible, stop and have a beer and a chat at the Amtrak Lamy Station.
