I especially loved how good the AC worked in such a big venue. The venue is huge and has so much to offer! I especially love the high ceilings and big screens! We parked valet. I hope this gem continues to make wonderful gatherings, it's the best!!! The owners are also wonderful and community based which is admirable. I can't wait to see what event is planned next!

Due to an Uber address mix-up, we ended up at this location by mistake. Upon arriving near closing time, we just asked if we could come in for a drink as we believed this was a bar: After being told it was a private event, I calmly tried to explain our Uber mistake. Instead of handling the situation professionally, a female staff member completely lost her temper. She started screaming at us, talked to us terribly, and physically aggressed us and telling us to go away. Given the unprovoked hostility and the way she treated us, I strongly believe her behavior was racially motivated because we are not from America. She tried to physically attack us. Her actions were so completely out of line and unwarranted that even several guests from the private event came over to apologize to us for her deplorable conduct. No one should ever be subjected to discrimination, verbal abuse, or violence over a simple misunderstanding. I highly advise avoiding this place, customer service, safety, and basic respect are completely nonexistent here. To make matters worse, I didn't even say a word to provoke her, she completely misdirected her anger at us just because of other people standing nearby. Being targeted, screamed at, and pushed when you haven't done or said a single thing is completely unhinged. She literally screamed right in our faces: "Hell no! Get the fuck out of here!"

The historic venue was beautiful, elegant, and provided the perfect setting for our wedding. Everything came together seamlessly, and our guests had an amazing time. A huge thank you to Ashton, the Event Director, who was absolutely wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She was incredibly helpful, responsive, and a great communicator. She made things easy for both us and our wedding planner, and we always felt like we had someone we could rely on whenever questions or details came up. We would highly recommend The Majestic DTLA to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding venue with an excellent team behind it. Thank you to everyone at The Majestic DTLA for helping make our wedding day so special!!

From the outside, we didn't see obvious signage indicating that this is the place. The telltale sign was that there were valet service staff outside. Also, the area itself is a little sketchy. But of course, that's out of the venue's control. Edit: I learned after the fact that the venue does not have control over catering so choose your caterers carefully ..ha Considering the price of admission for the gala we attended, the food was disappointingly mediocre. The salad was the highlight for me - it's got that gourmet vibe. The main course of beef and chicken was mediocre and the dessert was a joke. There were 9 people at the table, 6 of them left over 70% of their entrees untouched. That tells you a lot of about their opinion. The bar was crowded but the drinks were decent. The entertainment was much better than the food. The live band was Excellent and the casino was fun. The Majestic provided good service during the event. The lighting was super flattering for all the Instagram moments. lol The ambience inside was amazing and yes you will want to take many photos in your fancy outfits. :D Overall, a good event location.

Redbird, now an L.A. dining icon, is in the old rectory, and the whole property is available to rent for events. I went for a recent gala, and the venue was beautiful, huge and versatile, with several distinct spaces. There were cocktails in both the Redbird dining room and in the courtyard, a seated dinner in the main hall, and a whole other room that served as a lounge. Every space was attractive, maintained with the kind of respect and attention a historic building deserves. Service was great, both at the bar and for dinner. I was just a guest, so I know nothing about the logistics, but I'd look into the Vibiana if I were booking a wedding or fundraiser or something of that nature. I'd be happy to go back for another fancy party. Feel free to invite me to yours.

As a result, a lengthy battle ensued between the archdiocese, who wanted to demolish it, and preservationists, who wanted to designate it as a historical landmark. The preservationists won and it's now an event space with an adjacent restaurant called Redbird - both are owed by Redbird Chef Neal Fraser & Amy Knoll Fraser. Naturally, it's popular for weddings but has also been used for events & parties. I've attended many fashion shows here during LA Fashion Week. The venue is charming and the courtyard is a lovely spot for receptions. I recently came here for a cocktail seminar - TOTC. Some aspects of the church remain, including the beautiful hardwood floors, altar, confessionals, & choir area. Tastings were held in the cathedral and classes in the adjacent building, which was once the rectory. The staff here were all friendly and accommodating. It is a lovely & functional venue for events. *Metered street parking or lot across the street $12.

She offered us the option of meeting with a handful of different coordinators, but when we met Ani on our venue tour, we knew we found our match.   Firstly, Ani was AMAZING and made our entire planning process so stress free and the day of was seamless! She helped us problem solve on so many things in our planning stages, from what vendors to choose, to negotiating our florals package, to even helping us with design choices. She was always on point, kept us optimistic, and is just so talented. Highly recommend Ani if you're choosing a coordinator!   Secondly, the venue itself is such a gem, we loved the wood beams, exposed brick, greenery, and the garden entrance. It really didn't need us adding too much on top and looked amazing in our photos. The owners, Lemor and Dan, were both a pleasure to work with and the entire staff on our wedding day was so friendly and efficient. The bartenders were talented and we received many compliments on the drinks!   We can't thank you all enough for such a wonderful process from start to finish and we are beyond grateful that Seventh/Place was a part of and able to make the wedding of our dreams a reality.

I think our photos speak for itself how beautiful this venue was without breaking the bank.
