My girlfriend was kind enough to book and prepay for a 90-minute deep tissue massage for me, and decided to book one for herself at the same time. The first 45 minutes were spot on. The original masseuse found the knots in my back, neck, shoulders, and left hip and went straight to work. But midway through the session, someone else entered the room and took over without warning. First off, her hands were freezing. Second, she was completely worthless--zero pressure, no deep tissue work at all, just loads of oil and light rubbing. She "worked" on my right leg, but did absolutely nothing to address the muscle tension. By the end of the session, I was drenched in oil and literally walking with a limp because my left leg had been properly massaged by the first person, but my right leg received zero actual treatment. To make matters worse, when my girlfriend (who had the same masseuse for her entire session) approached the manager about why my therapist was switched, the manager's excuse was: "Oh, because it was her turn." No apology whatsoever. The manager just casually said, "When he comes back, he can request the full session be with the original masseuse." There will not be a next time. Terrible customer service, zero care for a client in pain, and completely unprofessional management. I would never recommend Thai Spa on Eastern Ave.

The therapy room, bathrooms and circulation are laid out efficiently and appointed in calming colours and decor to set the intention for healing and restoration. I've been coming to IMR Massage for about five years now, and it's been my go-to place for massage…read moretherapy. I've consistently had great experiences here, which is why I've continued supporting this business for so long. The therapists I've worked with have always been knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely attentive. They take the time to listen to my concerns before each session and tailor the treatment accordingly. I always leave feeling significantly better than when I walked in, and that's why I've remained a loyal customer for so many years. Unfortunately, I recently learned that IMR is now charging a 3% surcharge for credit card payments, and I have to say, it really annoys me. In today's world, paying with a credit card is the norm, and accepting those processing fees has traditionally just been part of the cost of doing business. Seeing that expense passed directly on to loyal customers--especially members--was disappointing. I truly enjoy supporting this business and would much rather continue my membership, but this new surcharge has honestly made me question whether I want to keep it. It's unfortunate because the quality of the massages has never been the issue. I sincerely hope they reconsider this policy, because it's the one thing that's making me think twice about continuing as a member.

She's incredibly intuitive, in tune with your body, and somehow manages to find every knot without you saying a word. I'm so grateful to have found a massage therapist who's not only highly skilled, but also kind, professional, and genuinely passionate about what she does. She's also trained in cupping and hot stone therapy, which adds another layer of relief and relaxation to her sessions. She knows exactly when and how to incorporate these techniques to maximize the benefit, and it always feels amazing. My husband and I actually found Heather through a Groupon about ten years ago when we booked a couple's massage at Massage Customs. At the time, he wasn't thrilled--he thought massages were "weird." But after that first visit, we were hooked. We started going once a month, and eventually he bumped it up to every two weeks! With both of us working in high-stress, professional environments, seeing Heather regularly has made a huge difference in our overall wellness. Beyond massages, we've had great conversations about nutrition, health, and even shared some of our favorite books on mental wellness. She's thoughtful, knowledgeable, and just one of those people you feel lucky to have in your life. I can't recommend Heather enough--she's hands down the best massage therapist in town, and you will not be disappointed.
