It is easy to walk by and miss this small TeaRoom, bar, cafe. Because of the small space this cafe inhabits be sure to make reservations for lunch upfront. This is definitely not a place for large groups. Only one table is large enough to seat 5 people comfortably.
I love how the owners have made this small space seem larger and brighter with the great use of light and mirrors. You are also welcomed by the mouth watering pastries in a large glass case. Even though we didn't have reservations we were in welcomed with smiles, and shown to a table, it was my lucky day!
The menu changes each day, and you can choose from a plat du jour, salads, other cooked lunch dishes, or sandwiches highlighted on the other side. They also have a open wine to purchase by the glass highlighted on the menu. TIP: A carafe of tap water costs 2CHF.
We took the plat du jour for only 19 CHF and it was served with a basket of delicious bread. The portions were quite large and definitely fill you up for the rest of the day. The plat du jour was a turkey pasta w/ basilic lemon sauce. It was the first time I had turkey in a pasta, yet it was perfection! Everything was fresh and juicy and melted in my mouth. YUMMY!
We couldn't exit without trying a pastry. We tried the tarte tatin. One of the best I have had!
I will definitely be back here again for a visit. Plus, I still have to try their homemade hot chocolate which they were highlighting!! read more
