L'oca Bruciata is one of the three restaurants in the village of Paciano, and they offer high quality, fresh, handmade pastas and pizza. After a long day of traveling and arriving at Fontanaro, the agriturismo where we stayed in Paciano, the owner kindly offered to order us some pizzas for dinner. I'm not sure of the names of the pizzas that were ordered, but both were wonderful. Both on thin crusts, one was what was described to us as pizza the way Italians eat it. Very simple with tomato sauce and slices of fresh mozzarella that is added after the pizza is cooked, retaining some of their form but still offering gooey goodness. The other pizza had vegetables including sliced tomatoes, spinach and mushrooms. My kind of pizza! I cannot say one was better than the other as they were both delicious. They were also large, so we were able to get at least two more meals from the leftovers. L'oca Bruciata offers wonderful food at very reasonable prices, and my only regret was that we did not get to eat there again while on our trip. read more
