The entire strip mall looks like it underwent renovations not too long ago. Nearby is a Pet shop, Cohen's Optical, Walgreens, Pet Supply shop and more. This Trader Joe's has a similar layout to other locations I have visited before. The aisles are set at angles but like others when you walk in you see produce. Fridges are located against the walls and for the most part the aisles were familiar. Some bits did take me by surprise. For instance, the cereal was by the bread, which differs from other locations I generally go to. Overall, the shelves were neat and stocked relatively well (it was the weekend of a storm so certain items like eggs had been bought out, gotta be ready to make that Storm French Toast!). The rest room was nice and clean, though oddly a shopping cart was blocking it so I had to scooch around it to use it. Check out was quick, with our cashier giving off some very positive energy given how late we were there (roughly around 7PM). A note: There's no Three (or is it four now) buck chuck etc. here. This is one of the locations that does not sell alcohol. That said, they did have a small non-alcoholic drink section which included wine. It's a nice option for those not into alcoholic drinks. I really enjoyed my visit and if I'm in the area I'll happily come back.

I mean they call it a "Discount Grocery Store" right so maybe I'm putting my expectations too high or something. But I doubt it, instead I think it's alot of cheap no-name stuff which reminds me more of the quality type merchandise that a dollar store would carry. Yup that just about covers that. Well I'm glad we were able to work that one out. Who needs couch time with some Psychiatrist when we can just vent out our thoughts here on this amazing forum through our Reviews? 3 Stars although that's probably 1 more than they deserve, but but I'm still working on my decision making processing process, Hey don't judge me, Lol Come And Get Your Shopping On   if you want

On top of that, the store is severely understaffed and visibly dirty. I would never return to this location, and honestly, I wouldn't recommend anyone else shop here either. At this point, I don't trust buying food from this store. I'm shocked corporate hasn't stepped in because the condition of this location is unacceptable. The entire store needs a complete overhaul. Truthfully, it feels closer to needing a closure than a renovation. There is another discount grocery store a few miles away that is cleaner, better stocked, and far more trustworthy. Save yourself the disappointment and shop elsewhere.

The biggest issue is checkout. There are plenty of registers, but they're almost never open & everyone is pushed to self-checkout. I'm not a fan of that at all. I don't work here, and I don't want to ring up my own groceries. I want to use a regular cashier and be on my way. That option shouldn't feel nonexistent. It's also frustrating that self-checkout doesn't take cash, even though it says it does. So if you're paying cash, you have to wait for help anyway which is extremely annoying!! The rewards program isn't great either--after spending $200, getting a free chocolate bar was pretty underwhelming. Overall, nice store, but the lack of real checkout service is a big downside.

Lidls does have their own brand label so you'll save on most things that run along those lines. But some national name brand products that I'm used to seeing are priced the same if not a bit more than other stores.    You can find me hanging out in the Frozen Foods Section, in my opinion that's where a customer can find the most value that this place has to offer. And these days that's a big freakin deal people.   I've been here twice so far and both times it's been pretty empty maybe just because this is a fairly new location but I can definitely appreciate a place like this as opposed to some other crazy crowded nearby chains who'll remain nameless. Unfortunately as we were pulling out, we realized we had a flat tire. We went over to the tire station and Jeff the manager was amazing. He took us right away plugged and patched our tire and it was only $13.50. They were so helpful and accommodating. I would recommend this location to anyone who needs servicing on their car for tires. Thank you again jeff!

Love the prices and selection. The Whippany store has a hot dog and soda below $2. Such a value! The gas is always the best price too. So when I needed tires, I went straight to their Tire Service Shop. I was told my tire service would take 60 to 90 minutes maximum. THREE HOURS later, I got my car. The delays were entirely avoidable. An hour into the process, an attendant informed me that they couldn't find the wheel lock key in my glove box. Nobody asked me about it when I arrived. Instead, they wasted an hour before bothering to communicate the problem. Here's the kicker: After they lowered my vehicle and removed from garage, I personally opened the glove box and found the key exactly where they claimed to have looked. I probably get my tires changed once every 5 to 10 years. The staff here is changing tires for three cars every hour. I would expect a little more communication on best practices to be efficient and provide ahead of time. I gave the key to the attendant in under a minute. Despite arriving first and 15 minutes before my appointment, I watched them service TWO other vehicles ahead of mine at this point. The complete lack of communication and customer service was frustrating. This wasn't some complicated mechanical issue. It was a straightforward tire service made unnecessarily difficult. Nearly three hours for a 90-minute service, two customers taken ahead of me, and a missing key that was never actually missing. That's not bad luck. That's bad management and worse service. Save yourself the aggravation. Take your business somewhere that values your time and knows how to serve customers at their tire shop. Again, the big box store and gas station meets or exceeds expectations.
