Rolled, Stuffed Pork Loin with mushrroms and mashed potatoes
    Anthony C.

Our first day in Lyon we were turned away at all the Bouchons we visited. They only take reservations when they are open, unlike the US, so we had none. We noticed this place on the main thoughfare near our hotel. While not a Bouchon it served local dishes and we gave it a try. Mercifully we were seated here and enjoyed a fine meal. We each had the salad Lyonnaise which was better than we had later at some of the Bouchons, with a house Rhone wine and a stuffed loin of pork with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. Real French comfort food. It was delicious.

Historic restaurant with outdated menu choices. Taste on my salmon was terrible. Service was slow and disinterested. Place was dirty too.

The concierge at our hotel suggested we have lunch here and I am so glad we did. We've heard that Lyon is city of magnificent food and our lunch here got us off to a great start. The ambiance was great. We sat on the terrace were we could watch the passerby's and it was very comfortable. The service was outstanding. They were very friendly spoke English and even had a English menu which was helpful. My husband had one of their specialties the homemade sausage with pistachios. It came with a side salad and potatoes. He loved it. I had the linguine with roasted vegetables. It was delicious. The large pour of Chardonnay made it a very leisure lunch and great way to start our visit to Lyon.

Nice relaxed atmosphere. Ordered a salad lyonnaise. More than big enough for a main meal. Service was friendly and helpful. Would go again

We went with his suggestion of a sampling if charcuterie from a variety of regions that are close to Lyon. He assured us that everything was artisanal, natural and fresh. He presented us with a beautifully displayed board. He explained each meat and cheese individually and gave us a suggested direction to eat the board as one thing will lead to and play off if the previously consumed meat or cheese. He suggested a wonderful local pinot noir to pair with our platter. Very delicious local charcuterie - highly recommend giving this place a try !

The best croque monsieurs EVER. If you want to rediscover this classic French comfort food, this is…read morethe place. What makes the food (granted simple) so special is the quality of the ingredients !! In addition to being a great host, the owner is super passionate about his region (Franche-Comté) where he sources everything from. There's nothing pretentious about this place: just good quality food at a fair price with friendly service. This is where the neighborhood seems to go after work. Great cultural experience, exceptional service!
