    Hummus toast

Really cute, black owned spot. It feels welcoming and cozy with a lot of natural lighting and plants. Individual who helped me was welcoming, approachable and personable. Hummus toast was delicious! Will definitely be back to explore their menu and checkout the art gallery as well as future activations/events.

Pickled onions, fresh veggies, hummus, marinated mushrooms, and charred pita bread. I also bought a delicious citron tea.

This is one of the most unique and beautiful spaces in Portland. The customized coffee syrups and high quality food, the intricate, beautiful, cultural art, and the inviting atmosphere, makes you feel like you are in someone's living room. I have worked remotely here several times, and the service has always been exceptional. Here is a beautiful deconstructed veggie plate, that was originally supposed to be a pita sandwich.. once the person who worked there realized that some of the ingredients were missing, they creatively arranged this delicious fresh veggie platter. I will be returning as often as I can!

Very cute spot for brunch! Crepe was 10/10. They ran out of pesto, so served a side of hummus instead. So good! Only one barista working, so it does get very busy. Recommend going right at opening to avoid the long wait time and line. Love the ambience, cozy seating area, and art.

Truly exceptional in a city of exceptional coffee shops! I happened to be in the area and walked by, stopped and looked in the window. A customer outside was drinking their drink and said to me, "girl, just go in, it's incredible." She wasn't wrong. I had the pistachio latte with baklava cold foam. I am not a sweet coffee drink person but I was having a "treat yourself" day (TM, Parks and Rec) and decided to go for it. Really amazing. I can't wait to go back. I also had a salmon crepe that was huge and delish. But, maybe most importantly, the customer service was top-notch. When the barista noticed it was starting to rain after I'd gotten settled outside, they came out to ask if I wanted help moving my stuff back inside to finish my meal. This visit was such a nice way to end the morning. My only suggestion: better signage outside or on the doors! It took me a while to figure out there was a cafe inside. Now I know! Can't wait to return.

I haven't had a better coffee experience anywhere than I had here. Not only was my crème bruelle latte and the classic crepe absolutely delicious, but everything about L'Atelier Yaffe is above and beyond. The baristas were kind and welcoming, even offering complimentary macarons and oranges with honey while I enjoyed my latte. The space is beautiful and relaxing, and I truly could have spent all day here. I will absolutely be returning and can't wait to bring my friends and family back here very soon!

A performance at a book launch hosted by L'Atilier Yaffee

L'Atelier Yaffee is a dream. Great food, kind staff, and community oriented. This space hosts all kinds of local artists and fosters Portland's creative force. They have opened their doors to the poetry community, the queer community, people of color. They are one of the most inclusive, kind businesses around. I'm so glad they are here!

From food, drinks and lighting...THIS IS THE SPOT. I was blessed to host my book release and birthday party here and from start to finish they were amazing. The coordination, thought and planning that they went above and beyond for was spectacular. I am so pleased with this venue and believe you should have them host your next event.

I have mixed feelings about my visit this morning. There is so much to love about the vibe here,…read morebut the actual drink execution left me frustrated. The Pros: First off, the staff is incredibly sweet and friendly. They make you feel welcome the second you walk in. The modern, cool design of the space is top tier. It is exactly the kind of atmosphere you want when grabbing a coffee in Portland. I also love their progressive approach to dairy; they default to plant based milks and there is no upcharge for them, which is a huge win for accessibility and sustainability. The Cons: Unfortunately, the experience was completely undercut by the quality of the pour. The oat milk curdled almost immediately. I am well aware that Stumptown uses a more naturally acidic brew, which is a science experiment waiting to happen with plant milks, and I know it is technically safe to drink. However, the separation completely ruins the mouthfeel. Instead of a creamy, cohesive sip, I was left with a watery base and grainy floaties. It is disappointing to be told that this is normal when specialty cafes have the tools like barista grade buffers and temperature control to prevent this. While the ethics and the aesthetic are on point, a drink that looks and feels curdled just is not an acceptable standard to serve to customers. Summary: Great people, great space, great pricing, but the technical execution of the plant based drinks needs a serious overhaul.

My husband got the Lucky Charms shake with marshmallows and actual Lucky Charms. Both were creamy, delicious, and not too sweet. One downside: the menu was a little confusing. I had two bites and had to throw mine away. It was definitely just painfully artificially sugary and tasted gross flavor wise - I should've just gotten a different flavor initially. I understand custard is slightly different from ice cream but maybe they need a revisit of the menu recipe wise- would be good. I've had good custard before so I'm no stranger to it. I don't recall what it was called but it was maybe pistachio base custard or coconut (can't recall) but the description had pineapple jelly with coconut flakes and a cherry. Overall I love the vibes here and the staff were super friendly but I probably won't ever eat the custard here ever again. I'll probably check out the back tho!

My friend and I wandered in looking for some coffee and as other reviews note, there really isn't a menu in here? For a second, I couldn't tell if they even made lattes since the only signage noted espresso and drip coffee. My friend grabbed an 8 oz latte an I went with a 12 oz vanilla latte -- came out to $11 total so not too bad, particularly for the quality. It's just one person behind the counter making the drinks, but he displayed a great deal of care between the syrups, latte art, and sneaker decals on top. My drink was perfectly hot, not too sweet, and had a great flavor overall. I would absolutely go back for another latte and to grab some beans as well. This place is small, there's a VERY small amount of limited seating; definitely not a sit and sip your coffee for hours type of spot. Loved the sneakers displayed inside though. Even though the 5 star rating was based on just one review I thought I would give it a try as the all of the drinks coming out while I was thinking about it looked pretty good. The basic 2-shot latte was pretty good. I'm a coffee snob so I save 5 star ratings for places with amazing coffee that really makes coffee a transcendent experience or places with pretty good espresso drinks at places with consistently good service, so I'd probably just give this place 4 1/2 stars on coffee alone. However the atmosphere for a little spot is reallly nice, with interesting books on the shelf on the back wall and real artwork by local artists on the wall. Plus the spot opens up into the lobby of the Hoxton Hotel, which of course has that trendy but classy Hoxton aesthetic. Also a plus, the place has ceramic mugs and cups, but as most folks are getting coffee on the way out, you will get your drink in a paper cup unless you ask. These other factors justify bumping it up to a full 5 stars (especially as Hotel coffee spots frequently suck). Note this is a one person operation, so some patience may be necessary. Hours: At the time of this writing, Yelp had this spot's hours conflated with a similarly named restaurant in the lobby. It's actually open for 7 to 12 every day.

Weird by a Mexican (-owned?) place! I don't know why this young woman had so much hate toward us, we kept wondering if it was because we speak Spanish inside the establishment, or because we hugged each other, or because we asked for pastries which they had none, or because I asked questions about getting a Mocha, which is not on the menu. The business is small inside, only 4 visitors at a time, maybe she got upset that we came in when there were 2 customers already in? It was rainy outside though! Initially, my wife and I were super excited and chatty (in Spanish, our native language) about the opportunity to support this business and waited patiently until it was our turn. We had lots of questions since the menu is vague and limited, compared to any other coffee shop, and there were no pastries on display. The attendant was short and using a rude tone when responding to my wife (As in: "But how do you want it?" in response to "I'd like a latte"). To top it off, she asked us to move to make space for another customer, when we had been already been patient with her and the prior customers, to read the menu, which she had already told me was unavailable. So weird! I didn't tip. We didn't even say "Thanks" upon leaving. Damn you Instagram.
