Title: Extremely disappointing - found shotgun pellet in wild duck dish, restaurant refused to take responsibility
We had the 100€ tasting menu per person. While eating the wild duck course, I bit into a metal shotgun pellet.
I immediately informed the server. Their explanation was that this pellet was already inside the wild duck when it was hunted, and the chef could not spot it during food preparation, so the restaurant would not take responsibility.
I believe this is merely a sophism. Even for game meat, it is the restaurant's obligation to check and remove pellets before serving guests. Neither the chef nor the management was willing to admit any fault.I did not wish to prolong the argument and ruin the rest of my dinner, so I paid the full price.A restaurant, from chef to management, that refuses to admit mistakes is not trustworthy. read more
