Candidly we were going to try that falafel place around the corner but it had a big line. So we…read morepopped over here. Really glad we did. We ordered quickly and they had terrific food. We tried the rotisserie chicken pita and the ratatouille one. Both were packed full of fresh ingredients. I loved the veggie one. But shoutout to the pita because it didn't collapse or get soggy from all the veggies and sauce. It held its own and was delish. Inside has some tables in back that were good but really this is a quick lunch space and a great one at that. Delish.

That's what drew us to the fresh Israeli fare at this casual cafe. At around 7PM, the place was hopping because there were quite a few people not only dining but also waiting for takeout orders. We planted ourselves at the counter facing the busy prep area where the staff was assembling plates and pitas. We decided to share the 7,50€ Green Beans which looked to be quickly sautéed in lemon, garlic, and olive oil to a fresh, tasty snap (Photo 10). Jamie ordered the 13€ Golden Ratatouille, a healthy melange of eggplant, tomato, zucchini, carrot, and onion mixed in their house tomato sauce with a nice side of hard-boiled egg and tahini (Photo 8). Well, I thought one of us should try their specialty pita sandwiches, so I went with the 13€ Lamb Kebab. It was delicious with big lamb and beef meatballs peeking out of a nice fluffy pita stuffed with red onions and chopped cilantro, mint, and green onions. It was slathered liberally with tahini and their housemade spicy sauce (Photo 9). It was just the Middle Eastern meal we were hankering for. We can have escargots and croissants some other time. FOOD - 4 stars...big pita, saucy ratatouille AMBIANCE - 4 stars...kinda chaotic but comfortable SERVICE - 3.5 stars...pretty fast TOTAL - 4 stars...a fine Israeli option in Le Marais RELATED - Exploring Paris? Overview: My first meal in Paris, so good I had 2, amazing service…read more ---- Jamon, fromage, oeuf (ham, cheese, egg) gallete €7 (~ $8) - crispy cheese - topped with some spinach and veg mix and a half a cherry tomato - very filling - made fresh right in front of you - they are huge and take up the whole plate Caramel, banane, amandes (caramel, banana, almond) crepe €5.50 (~ $6.50) - not as crispy (as is traditionally softer than a galette) - good amount of bananas, almonds, and generous with the caramel as well - also very filling and took up the whole plate ---- Notes: - A little hole in the wall place, with seating on the inside and the outside - there is a €1 fee if you eat there vs take-away - the older gentleman who works there was amazing, super friendly and welcoming, you can feel the love in the crepes he made - we came back in hopes of seeing him again but there was another worker there, the crepes were still good, but wasn't as good as the original ones we had (you can tell the difference from the photos) - seating inside there were playing music and seating outside you can people watch ---- Overall: if you're looking for an authentic crêperie this is the place you need to try, it's affordable and welcoming, delicious sweet crepes and savory galettes, the older gentleman was a sweetheart

This little place looks like a typical fast food place, but looks can be deceiving. The downstairs…read moreportion of the restaurant is tiny and you can't eat upstairs unless you order a full dinner. The downstairs is two tiny high tops for two and one that might fit three plus a few tables out front. I mention that so when you go, not to expect a sit down experience. The food was nothing that other places don't make, but was so good. I had a simple shawarma wrap and a side of baba ghanoush. Both were excellent. The shwarma was beef and lamb, which I ordered with the Toum and hot sauce, as well as the standard onions, pickled veggies, and tomatoes, and it was small. But every bite was perfect! I don't know why or how, but the little wrap could have been the best thing I ate the entire trip, and believe me when I say that I ate a lot. I have eaten shwarma and/ or kebabs from dozens of places in dozens of cities and I can't say that I have had better. I ate great shwarma at Taza on Queensway and throughout London in the 90s, but bite for bite, this was as good or better. I hope my glowing review doesn't set the bar impossibly high, because it's the simplicity that makes this little sandwich so good. It's also in a fun and vibrant neighborhood near the Pompidou Center, so I would highly recommend this for lunch or even a hearty snack for someone who may be walking all day.
