Ramshackle in appearance, this is so different and so good for being that way. I'm not much of a wine drinker but were I thus (and if I lived near Ealing) this would be where you would find me. In fact if you are a wine drinker then just add a mental star to my rating. I drank something red...with a nose

Taht is, friendly, independent, slightly seedy, different, interesting, and a place for sitting and talking. It's showing its years, but in a way that adds character. Not fancy in any way, it reminds me of bars in France. It'slived in. It's pricipally a wine bar, and there are several type of white and red wine available by the bottle and the glass. Champagne, kir, bottled beer, and soft drinks are also available. There are a few tables for four, a couple for two, stools at the bar, a round window seat for four, and some booths in the back. There are, oddly, two pianos - not sure if they're just for show. There's unlikely to be anyone in here under the age of 25. It's a place for chatting, for speculating, for catching up with old friends. The music is from a stack of CDs behind the bar and was an excellent mix of pop and soul last night. I'm going to spend a lot of time in this bar to make up for the years I've been missing it.

I…read morehadn't actually been for a couple of years and was pleasantly surprised that nothing much has changed despite its proximity to Westfields. The wine list is extensive and excellent and they now also offer a "take out" option - great idea. The bar is extremely busy, especially during the after-work hours. On my last visit it was almost impossible to have a decent chat due to the noise levels - and they don't even pipe music! The food menu changes regularly and includes a good selection of comfort dishes (pasta, bangers and mash), saladdy things and cheese or meat platters.

Such is the case of the Albertine Wine Bar. Lovely old wooden floors, chairs that seem to have belonged to a church, and its owner/ chef always having a glass of red wine at the end of the bar. There is an upstairs area which is decorated with photography for sale and chilled out tunes. Excellent selection of wine (130 wines from around the world), red Chilean 'Chocolan' is always our choice and the food is simply divine. A home-made feel, like carrot and pea soup, or duck salad, charcuterie selection, honey roast ham salad and amazing blueberry cheesecake. The menu changes on a regular basis this is one of the reasons you have to come back for more, and the other is to taste all the cheeses (about 20) it costs £5.95 for 3 cheeses of our choice, crackers and bread. Not a cheese connoisseur? not to worry, they are and can give you a guide as to what you may like. It can get very busy on friday and saturday evenings so get there early to get a good table, like the ones by the windows, or call ahead to reserve.

When we walked it, it was quite busy as a huge party was occupying a table across from us. A few other guest always dining as well. Not a big place but still very intimate and quite nice. Bar available but not sure if it's full bar. We did have a couple bottles of wine with dinner. Menu, straight to the point. Tapas and more tapas. As there was couple of us, we all chose three dishes to share. Each all looked amazing. The prawns, chorizo, mussels, meatballs, hummus, sun dried tomatoes salad, mushrooms, fried halloumi sticks, the skewers, pate, avocado toast, and croquettes. Everything was really good apart from it being slightly different from the states. The only downside, the skewer were a bit dry but presented beautifully. Everything was quite tasty and plenty to share for what we've ordered. Mussels were quite tasty in the sauce, chorizo was really good. Pate was more of sliced meat versus a spread. Service was great, staff was really friendly and chatty which was great. They ended the night for us with a little cocktail shot which was quite nice. Overall, amazing service, food was great, atmosphere was nice and friendly. Will definitely return.

Small, friendly, a nice location just off the main shopping area, reasonably priced and generous portions. The food was delicious and worth venturing over for whether you are local or not! We had crisp halloumi, spiced aubergine with minced lamb, chilli peppered squid, pork belly and chips, a lovely crisp Pinot Grigio (my friend's a white drinker) and a couple of liqueur coffees. All this for £30 a head including a tip. The staff were efficient, attentive and charming. Young and energised, I loved the way all the front of house staff presented one table with a birthday dessert and sang with evident delight to the guest. We were made to feel very welcome despite booking a late table and the arrival of a large party of blokes who'd evidently been out for a Christmas get together added to the very European feel of this little gem. We'll be back
