The Albertine has been one of the best things in Shepherds Bush for as long as I can remember. I hadn't actually been for a couple of years and was pleasantly surprised that nothing much has changed despite its proximity to Westfields. The wine list is extensive and excellent and they now also offer a "take out" option - great idea. The bar is extremely busy, especially during the after-work hours. On my last visit it was almost impossible to have a decent chat due to the noise levels - and they don't even pipe music! For some reason, even though I have these amazing places at the step of my doorstep it always takes me awhile to discover them, and another while to finally go to them. Such is the case of the Albertine Wine Bar. Lovely old wooden floors, chairs that seem to have belonged to a church, and its owner/ chef always having a glass of red wine at the end of the bar. There is an upstairs area which is decorated with photography for sale and chilled out tunes. Excellent selection of wine (130 wines from around the world), red Chilean 'Chocolan' is always our choice and the food is simply divine. A home-made feel, like carrot and pea soup, or duck salad, charcuterie selection, honey roast ham salad and amazing blueberry cheesecake. The menu changes on a regular basis this is one of the reasons you have to come back for more, and the other is to taste all the cheeses (about 20) it costs £5.95 for 3 cheeses of our choice, crackers and bread. Not a cheese connoisseur? not to worry, they are and can give you a guide as to what you may like. There are very many drinking establishments in Shepherd's Bush, but The Albertine Wine Bar is possibly the only one with any soul. It's an independent wine bar that has been in the Bush for many years. If the idea of rustic old benches, gentlemen with hearty smiles and red wine stained lips appeals to you, and frankly this is a million times more pleasant than getting hemmed in at an impersonal chain bar drinking god awful plonk with a load of loud excitable 20-30 something clones, then The Albertine Wine Bar is for you. Food is homely, interesting, and well priced. For example, venison stew, good salads, etc. Go there and support a local business with a good soul and an even better wine list. read more

This place is well hidden and I sincerely hope it stays that way! My evening of choice is to come in here, sit down with a mate and order the cheese board and work my way through a few wines of the more than ample wine list that is constantly evolving. It is cosy and intimate and if you can't find a seat, feel free to prop yourself up at the small bar and the waitresses are generally more than happy to chat and give some insight into the wines on offer. There is a dining room upstairs but my advice would be to stay in the main bar area and soak up the candlelit atmosphere. Upstairs is stripped pretty bare of atmosphere actually, really is just the 4 walls. At the back of the bar is also a wine shop where you can pick up a good selection of wines at take away prices. The Albertine is a perfect little wine bar hidden behind Westfield. It is very authentic and cosy with a nice selection of wines by the bottle and glass. They also have a small menu with different small plates and a few entrees. The staff is very friendly and the whole place has a very laid back welcoming vibe. Everything is well priced and you can get a nice little cheeseboard for 3£ per cheese! I highly recommend popping in here for anyone overwhelmed with the insanity that is Westfield. read more

Albertine is a real Shepherd's Bush gem - it's a brilliant, cosy place to hang out with a group of friends, a bottle or two of wine, some sharing dishes, and pass the whole evening - or just for a little pre-theatre or gig drink. It's definitely the wine antidote to all those food chains in the Westfield shopping centre! Albertine has been around for years, but in 2017 it's been taken over and refurbished by locally based Allegra McEvedy and chef Rob Freddi. Everything I loved before are still there - the amazing wine list, the great cheese boards, the church pews and overall its cosy, slightly retro feel. But there's now much more focus on the food, and there's an airy dining room upstairs with a lovely menu with strong Mediterranean influences - around 5 or 6 dishes in each course, including fish and veggie options. I've eaten in both the bar and the restaurant now, and both times the food was excellent. read more

We had been meaning to visit the Albertine for ages and ages, we finally managed it when going to a comedy festival in Shepherds Bush. This place is a fantastic little gem hidden away from the hustle and bustle. Not only does it do fantastic wine but the food is also fabulous! I couldn't tell you the price as my fantastic boyfriend paid, but I think for 2 glasses of wine and enough food to sink a battleship it was around £30. The food we ordered we ate like tapas and had chorizo, a smoked duck salad and some cheese, this was definitely enough for two. read more

Love this cute little bar. Great place to take colleagues/friends/dates for an intimate conversation when the pub is too loud and crowded. I like to go right after work and get a bottle of vino and a few delicious appetisers, which are all great! Wished they did some sort of happy hour... then I'll be there all the time :) read more

Y'see, this is why I love Qype. On the lookout for a nice place to go for a drink and a bite to eat in Shepherd's Bush before a gig, and I spotted Abertine Wine Bar down a side street. A quick look at my Qype Radar app confirmed that it was indeed a nice place to go, so in we went. And it was lovely! Really cosy, with little wooden tables and stools at the bar. They serve a wide range of wine and rustic grub, and a sharing platter of cold meats, bread and olives (and strange green olive-y things things on stalks - anyone?) went down very nicely indeed. I can't imagine I'd ever need to go anywhere else in Shepherd's Bush to find a seat and a glass of wine, given that I'm rarely there, anyway. This little gem of a wine bar is a welcome respite from most of what Shepherds Bush can offer. The fact that it's not hidden away, but always seems to be free from the hooray Henry's and the total knobheads that frequent other drinking holes around here is one of its many charms. Other reviewers have summed it up. A friendly place for a glass of wine and some simple home cooked food, at reasonable prices without any noisy muzak, plus knowledgeable staff. What more can you ask for? And if you want to fight over anything, then the Defecators pub across the street is the place for you. That's where the oiks hang out. read more

I think Albertine's is a sort of secret kept by die hard lovers of Shepherd's Bush. It's a really great wee place which is predominantly a wine bar but also serves good food. The selection of wines is admirable (although really to be expected in a wine bar) and the atmosphere and staff are friendly, warm and unpretentious. Clad in candle light and natural furniture Albertine's has a proper Spanish-y feel to it. They serve an excellent cheeseboard which goes a little too well with the wine. This place reminds me of why i moved far far away from the home counties. This lovely little wine bar smack bang in the heart of Shepherds Bush oozes sophistication and class, even if it is a little rough around the edges. The Albertine wine bar is small and cute inside, it feels like you're in someones home,and has lots of character. The tables are surrounded by church pews and the place is always buzzing. The first time I visited, there was a deep conversation of wine at the bar and the end of the night turned into everyone in the bar singing along with each other-it felt a bit like the film sideways. I have been here a few times over the years and it never fails for me. I always take new people along with me who are impressed firstly by the extensive wine menu, and the delicious food. The food is so tasty and for the cheese boards you can pick on which cheeses you would like from around the globe. If you don't like wine, they also serve cider. read more

Our visit here was great - prompt and happy service, and they have a great range of wines - especially to accompany food. It's not pretentious - just a lovely place to go to while away an evening, try some brilliant food and have a natter over a glass of wine. This wine bar was a little unusual when we got there. My husband and I arrived and were told that we needed to bring our food orders to the bar. The staff was friendly. We shared a cheese board and it was wonderful! I had the potato and leek soup and my husband had the beef. It was not the best we have ever had but certainly not the worst. Great wine bar, not far off Shepherd's Bush Market stop. They have a good selection of wines, and an even better selection of tasty apps at reasonable prices. I stuck with the Bordeaux blends most of the night, and the 100% Cab Franc (Chinon) is recommended. The inside of this place is really comfortable and relaxed - mostly filled with friends sharing a bottle of wine and having good chat.
