They brought a whole truffle and shaved a few grams in front of me. I posted a video of the experience. I then ordered the PIEDMONTESE FASSONA SIR FILLET, PURE AND BLACK TRUFFLE. It was cooked perfectly and the truffles had me salivating. Presentation is beautiful. Everything was perfect except the wait time. I normally expect restaurants in Europe to take 1 hour or two to get the food to the table but I noticed every table around us got their food 30 minutes before us, even if they were seated after. I guess that's why we need reservations next time. Pretty high end experience for a great price. Will recommend if in the area.

The decor was "wine chic" modern, with ice buckets fabricated from wine boxes. The front of this establishment was a wine shop with Sicilian and other Italian wine selections as well as olive oil and other Sicilian delicacies. We received royal treatment from Marco, one of the twins, of crisply spoken English, cordiality, and expertise in creating a memorable dining experience. The food was scrumptious and professionally presented. Local seafood excellence along with meticulously prepared pastas, including "tenerumi" a true Sicilian vegetable speciality in pesto form. The stuffed zucchini flowers were almost too beautiful to eat. And, seafood arancini - magnifico!!Marco brought it all together with perfectly picked wine selections for our appetizers, then main courses. Of course, he chose varying drinking vessels to match the varietal served - a true maestro. This was an immensely grand dining experience that we hope to experience again in our next travels to this "Isola Bella"!!!

The restaurant is known for its seafood and we saw tables full of hungry families ordering platters of different types of fish and seafood. We also noticed takes of sea urchin which we ordered as well as pasta with sea urchin, sardine meatballs (polpette di sarde), and a pizza. The food was fine though not the mind blowing pasta experience we were anticipating from our first meal in Italy. The service was courteous and very patient, all the servers hearing out our stumbling Italian and even giving recommendations on both food and wine. Prices are competitive to nearby establishments.

Then we watched three of the waiters berated 2 old ladies walking down the side walk. 3/4 of us then received our drinks and we ordered our starters and pasta. Our waiter insisted one of the starter dishes we ordered (Calamari) wouldn't be good unless we ordered a specific other starter (fried sardines)...?? Everything we ordered was a back and forth barter as the waiter tried to upsell us and we tried to explain through the language barrier that we just wanted to order a normal dish! All of a sudden our main dishes came out (before the starters) and the spaghetti with shrimp and clams turned out to be shrimp and clamshells... Only 3 of the clams actually had the meat in them... You can't make that up (see pic of clams). Then (after we reminded them) the fourth drink came, a prosecco bellini was ordered (6 euro) and a harder bellini (14 euro) was brought out... The reason I give two stars and not one was that the drinks, ravioli, and swordfish was actually pretty good. The night was just ruined by bad service. The octopus was chewier than last time and not as good. Regarding the pizza diavola, it was just not as spicy. There did not seem to be enough spicy oil incorporated. It was still good, but just not as excellent when I had it earlier. I also had Pizza Napoli and Pizza Margherita. The Napoli consisted of tomato sauce, mozzarella, and anchovies. The anchovy taste was not too overpowering, which was pleasant. The Margherita was a traditional one. Again, cooked to perfection with plenty of flavor. For an entrée, I ordered the ravioli with grouper. I actually wanted this last time, but it was not available. It was a ravioli stuffed with grouper in a cream sauce. At first bite, I thought it was a little odd, but as I continued to eat, it grew on me. The sauce was very heavy, but tasty and the ravioli was jam packed with the grouper. There were about 8 raviolis present.
