If you are looking for an older Subaru but are concerned about head gaskets, the timing belt and…read moreother large repairs, I urge you to go to East Granby Motors and talk to Mike. I found East Granby Motors after 3 months of searching online and at large dealerships. I wanted an older Subaru ('03-'05) that had all of the necessary work done. I checked out the used inventory at large Subaru dealerships in NH, MA and CT and found that they didn't know anything about the cars, charged outrageous processing fees ($800-$900) and offered no warranty! The used Subarus I found through private sellers were just as much of a hassle. I took 3 cars to independent mechanics to have pre-purchase inspections done. Every one of them found about $2K worth of work that would need to be done immediately. The last thing I wanted to do was buy a car and have to invest money into it right away. When I was in CT visiting family, I stumbled upon East Granby Motors' website and rushed over the next day. Not only did they have exactly what I was looking for (within my budget), but they also had a number of alternatives. It turns out I bought the first car I test drove. For the price of the car, Mike and his team changed the head gaskets, timing belt and water pump and did a complete overhaul of anything else that needed attention at no extra cost. He also took care to add anything he could to the car to make it more comfortable and appealing. On top of that, the car came with a 6 month bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 1 year warranty on the engine (seriously!). Finally, he worked with my (out-of-state) insurance agent to transfer my plates and insurance! After months of stress and frustration, Mike made my car buying experience truly positive. Mike is an outstanding mechanic and one that you can trust. When you visit him, be sure to check out the wall of thank you cards in the lobby from the many other happy customers.

Review: V & F Auto Shop I recently had my car serviced at V…read more& F Auto Shop, and I was honestly blown away. I've never experienced this level of service before, and there are five main reasons why: Impeccable Environment: First, I was shocked by how clean and organized the shop is. It's rare to see a garage so well-maintained. Customer-Centric Care: The staff is incredibly friendly. To ensure an accurate repair, they asked detailed questions about every symptom the car was having. Their approach to consulting--truly looking at things from the customer's perspective--was very impressive. Convenient Shuttle Service: Third, they actually offer a ride home while your car is being fixed if you need it. I've never had a shop offer that kind of convenience before. Transparent Digital Inspections: What really "wowed" me was their reporting. They took photos of everything they inspected and provided detailed explanations. They showed me exactly what was wearing out, what needed immediate attention, and even shared videos to help me understand. I was totally sold. Honesty and Integrity: Finally, since no new parts were required for my specific fix, they actually did the repair for free. I simply couldn't pass up the chance to leave a glowing review after such a positive experience. I actually asked an AI for a recommendation for a reliable shop in the area, and it pointed me here--it absolutely exceeded my expectations!
