The restaurant has a humble exterior (largely blocked by gelato customers), but once you descend the stairs into the dining area you are in a sheek, romantic, cellar. Intimately small but comfortable. The walls are lined with stone and endless wine bottles. The starters were all quite good. We had the snails, squid, and cheese plait. As a bonus, my waitress recommended an excellent wine to pair with the squid. It was spot on. My group shared the beef and tartafelle (forgive my spelling). The beef was succulent, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I had no idea what to expect with the second dish but it was delicious and I would certainly order again. The prior night, I had the bakes camembert when eating solo. The dish is exactly as described. It's tasty, but I'd recommend it for a group since eating an entire block of melted cheese solo is challenging. Last but not least, the wait staff were wonderful! We really enjoyed chatting with our 2 waitresses, who went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and our election of drinks. As a tourist, you really hope to stumble on a gem like this were the locals charm you and really guide your dining experience. If ever back in Nice, i'll certainly go again!

Also note there is no cell service or WiFi service in the restaurant. Nice ambiance in the restaurant and away from the hustle and bustle of Nice. We ordered the squid, Foie Gras and Filet Mignon. All 3 were very good though I am not a fan of the Fois Gras but it came with a nice salad and bread. The squid was seasoned well and cut thin and flash fried. The filet was sliced and cooked perfect The potatoes were great and also nice salad came with it. Service was ok. Prices Moderate.

Tucked in a relatively quiet street (for Nice anyways), Bistrot Gourmand can easily be missed unless you happen to notice 1,100+ highly rated reviews that this gem of a restaurant has garnered. But if you do make it here, you will be treated to not only a culinary euphoria, but also a delightful, memorable service courtesy of the staff led by the Maestro himself, the manager Alex. To start, we noticed that the ambience and the music curated by Alex are different from all the other restaurants we've been to in Paris, Nice, and Monaco. There was an intimate feel that is countered by his fun eclectic musical taste that somehow works together with Alex's charm and bravado to entertain us and other tables (the other two parties were also on first name basis with Alex, as they were returning patrons of the restaurant). After having our orders taken, we were then surprised by our lovely waitress with an off-the-menu presentation of an amuse bouche to whet our appetite for what's to come. It was refreshing and playful. If there was a slight blemish with our meal, it was the Gaspacho de Courgettes (courgette gazpacho with soft-boiled eggs, basil hollandaise, and crispy onion). For my taste, it was a little too polite in flavor and needed the side of housemade brown bread with its slight saltiness to assist it. It was still good, but I would like just a bit more. The good news is that from here on everything it was smooth sailing across our Côte d'Azur of an experience. The wine of choice was Château Malbec Bordeaux, a fantastic red wine with a delicious initial taste and smooth satisfying finish. It was versatile and complimented everyone's dishes. And speaking of dishes, I had the exquisite Linguines à La Crème et Truffe d'été (Linguine with cream and truffle and). Don't let the short description fool you because this dish was heavenly, the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes just you can further savor the delicious flavor and balance of the pasta, the buttery truffle, and surprisingly light Crème sauce that was not heavy on the oil. I simply couldn't get enough with every bite and this is without a doubt my favorite dish from my time in France! If you enjoy beef tartare, you'll definitely enjoy the Tartare de Boeuf, as "prepared with a knife, potatoes with Provencal herbs." Our lovely waitress took tableside center stage as she mixed various ingredients from raw egg and minced raw beef to herbs and Worchister sauce with ease and precision to create a delicious, savory dish full of bold flavors that you can distinctly taste each individual flavor. Finally, the main event arrived upon us as Maestro Alex rolled out his cart to create our dessert, the Crépes Suzette, façon Bistrot Gourmand. This was worth the ticket going in, as the spectacle elevated our dining experience to another level. Pulsed by a mix of a lively music that started with the Rocky theme, Alex really put on a show with panache and enthralling commitment. It was truly a fun spectacle that is best experienced in person. The best part was that the Crépe Suzette was truly magical in its taste. There was sweetness and slight nuttines that paired well together. Since Tour de France 2024 is only a few days away from its Stage 21 finish at Nice, I can confidently say that Bistrot Gourmand is THE summit finish, the culinary highlight of our travels in France. It was the best way we could've ended this last week in France, and it is now the standard that we will judge our foodie experience going forward as we embark into Italy for the next 2 weeks. Florence and Rome have a lot to live of up to now! In the mean time, for any future visits back to Nice, we will definitely dedicate at least one or two dining experience back at Bristot Gourmand. Chapeau Alex and the staff, and hats off to the chef!

I have come to Mougins for the past 10 years... frequented numerous restaurants in the surrounding towns, including Cannes. It is located in the small village of Mouans Sartoux, easy parking, on a small street. But lively place after 8 pm with friendly locals and a few tourists dining. Staff all speak good English... young and friendly! We came along about 1945, with no reservation on a Wednesday night, just 2, got a nice table in small street. Would however suggest reserving.... Excellent fresh bread... 4 choices of Rose, 19 to 36 euro bottle.... the Brillo was 19, local, excellent value! We started with Baked goat cheese in oven, came with warm fresh toast, fig compote... we shared this! It was plenty! We then opted for the 3 course meal at 34 Euro each.... Starter: one had 6 fabulous escargots, and I had a warm duck salad, with 3 kinds of duck, including a fois gras main :One has Entrecôte steak, which was an 8-10 oz filet mignon really, accompanied with choices of potatoes ...and large dish of bernaise sauce....I had duck breast w honey reduction and porcini mushrooms, accompanied w fresh green beans w pesto.... excellent! Dessert: one had a warm fudge cake, like a lava cake back home.... and I had the cafe gormond, a local request usually not on menus... you get 4 to 5 small portions of variety of desserts, and cafe! This dessert offering again is usually not publicized.... so just ask! Best dessert value in France! Have never been disappointed! Awesome meal! Friendly staff! Great Value! Note... see pictures... and the only reason I did not give 5 stars is because they only had outdoor seating.... at this time of year... and humidity can be high June-August here.... so nice to have that option... it was not so humid that particular night... so dining outside was ok ! Bon Appetite from Mougins!

It has the added advantage of being right at the entrance to the town. To continue. The service is abrupt and not particularly attentive, but professional without grace. The food was very mixed. I had a delicious beef, carefully prepared and sauced, but one of my dining partners had a lamb which was tough and tasteless. The real issue that lowered my review score to just "OK" was the cigar smoke from the next table. it is bad enough to have to endure the lessening addiction of the French to stinking up their environment with cigarette smoke, but cigar smoke is beyond the pale. Nothing is as annoying as having a bite of perfectly prepared beef ruined by a cloud of stink from another table. A word to the restaurant management; If you can't see fit to ban smoking from the restaurant, then at least keep it to cigarettes. I would think any self-respecting chef would want his work to be appreciated without the smell of ash over-riding his creations.

After we had already spent a week in Belgium and a day in Monaco we were already exhausted. So luckily when someone asked does anyone want to go to the beach??? we leaped at the chance to relax on the beach oh yasssss beach please!!!! This beach spot belongs to the hotel that is just behind and across from the street is Hotel Le Negresco a beautiful old hotel. The views are gorgeous the beach is beautiful and the best of all is we got full on restaurant on the beach, the servers brought us menus so we ordered French Champagne Moet Chandon Ice Imperial, my favorite of all French Champagnes OMG lucky meeeee lol We had access to this amazing and beautiful restaurant we could either eat at the open air restaurant where they had tables with umbrellas or we could order food from the restaurant and they will bring it to you on the beach so you can enjoy your food and the gorgeous views ah excellent! So we had a beautiful salad with chicken and frites with mayonnaise as the French do lol And of course we greatly enjoyed our delicious lunch and French Champagne while loving that spectacular view. They have big white chaise lounges and they give you towels and each with your own umbrellas, that these darling boys would adjust for us as the sun moved, I love love loved it all. We ate a beautiful lunch from La Plage the Restaurant it was delicious it was Champagne bliss! This is not free obviously you're paying for the food and bubbly considering it came to a little over $350 per couple for Lunch and a bottle of French Champagne and personal servers so we were there the entire day around 5 hours of heaven on a beach in Nice France. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, I highly highly recommend you will not be disappointed I can assure you! À votre santé means to your health in français. The chef himself even pitched in with helping serve, totally in sync with the owner. These two amazing guys totally changed my and my wife's perspective about how other restaurants are run - especially when tipping here is more of a courtesy and in the states many restaurants just add 18% on to your bill for gratuity regardless of the service you got. I left the owner just 10 euros and he was so thankful and graciously declined but promised he'd give it to the kitchen staff when we insisted that we just had to appreciate them with a tip. Unreal, awesome, classy, can't wait to return.
