Had a quiet, lovely meal at this gastronomic restaurant located in the Hotel Messardiere. Views are astounding, over looking the ocean and a slew of acacia trees.
You can order a la carte or choose from one of the tasting menus. They also offer a menu of the day for 60 euros per person that includes an appetizer, main and dessert.
There were three choices of bread and the olive bread was divine.
We decided to go with the a la carte menu. We started with the asparagus and chicken egg with lardons. Both were exquisite! The asparagus sang with colors of flavor and had tiny, sweet langostines and black truffles. The egg was poached in a cream sauce and was rich and decadent.
We decided to go with the whole roasted fish and I think this was a mistake. This fish was good but it seems their composed dishes were more the stars here.
The cheese course was very good with choice of about a dozen meticulously selected cheeses, many from the region.
Dessert was nothing special-too modern with too little actual dessert: raspberry sorbet with biscuit crumble.
Petit fours were divine: salted caramel macaroons and other little nibbles had us feeling very happy and full! Service was excellent. A very beautiful evening from start to finish. read more
