Le Club has a huge reputation to live up to, so I was honestly a little surprised and let down when we visited. From A-list celebrities to young and wealthy business owners, Le Club attracts an elite crowd, so I expected the food and and service to be on point. There wasn't anything I would categorize as bad but nothing stood out as exceptional or even great from a food or service perspective. Le Club is right off the beach, so our group headed out for a quick dip in the ocean after brunch. The beach area is really only meant for those who intend to pay for loungers or daybeds, as our group immediately got scolded for setting our things down on the sand. This felt very strange after just spending quite a bit at the restaurant. There's a small boutique between the restaurant and the beach club area, which had some very cute items. I bought a beauitful dress, which I loved finding there. It was wrapped up in a nondescript bag though, which I found odd. A branded tote bag, even for a charge seems much more fitting for this type of boutique. Overall I probably would not opt to visit Le Club again. Although our group did have a good time, it's an over-priced sub-par experience, and there are better day club offerings in the area. read more

This is a total tourist trap with no locals and no vibe! The chicken was raw, the prawns were cold and rubbery, the tagliatelle was soggy! Absolutely awful! If you are French go here. If you're not, avoid it like the plague. It is packed, menu in French only, very few bathrooms and changing rooms, main bartenders are great and work very hard, chairs are small and low slung. Club 55 on the beach in Ramatuelle is a treasure that enhances anyone's experience in the vicinity of St. Tropez. We lunched there almost every day of our two weeks' sojurn at a nearby hotel. The owner and his daughter greeted us every day most graciously, the staff is relaxed and amusing, and the food is everything one would expect in a seaside restaurant. We stopped by for a quick bite and some drinks. They staff was very busy but checked in throughout the time we were there. Although the waves were pretty large, and a good amount of wind, the view is always spectacular. The food was delicious and always impresses. Highway robbery. Food seems like it's precooked. My chicken breast was so hard I couldn't chew it. My son's hamburger they called the steak with no bun. Was well well done and Dry. My niece, tomato and goat cheese was not good. I guess if you ordered the fish people liked it. Service is not great and our check was way over what we were supposed to pay. When they noticed that we noticed they had to take a couple things off like the wine and an extra dish. Not going back for sure. The lunch was absolutely delicious! The beach itself is totally overrated. Paid 61 euros to sit all the way in the back right next to the walkway for 2 sun beds, and yes we had a reservation. The best part is that after all that, towels are NOT included and they are sold for 80 euros each in their store (LOL, what a joke right?!) Guess what? The seaweed was in front of all the Club 55 beach and we pretty much went in the water in front of the public beach, literally right next door. Anyways, valet is complimentary and the lunch was indeed very very good! We ordered a pitcher of sangria, prosciutto and melon, beef tartar, and the sole meunière. Highly recommend lunch here! This place is horrible. We ordered a salad. Mushy tomatoes slathered with goat cheese and some gelatinous yellow cheese on top. They didn't know how to make a tequila, neat. Service was non-existent and the place was practically empty. Don't waste your time or money to go to this supposedly great spot. Don't know what the appeal is. The food was bad and the service was worse. The host for the restaurant was well aware we were not happy and he did nothing. An incredible time. Of course, you COULD get this experience anywhere else in the world - to be clear. But you go to Le Club 55 because it's LE CLUB 55 OF ST. TROPEZ. I was lucky to get a reservation on my birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better time. Serenaded by the hired band and impeccable drinks and food. Despite other reviews, other patrons were VERY friendly and also shared in the joy of my day. Valet parking was a plus, though there's also a public beach parking lot across the street. The food was not great, they had a limited drink selection, and overall the restaurant was very unorganized and dirty (Bugs in bathroom, dining area very crowded with chairs and tables, sand all over the floor). This is one of my favorite places for lunch in St. Tropez. Make sure you have reservations as they always are fully booked. It's been around since the 50s and has many clientele that have been coming for years! Unlike most of the other beaches, Club 55 is not bumping with loud music. It's more laid back and reminds me of the Ivy in LA in some ways. Everyone orders the vegetable crudite. Huge heirloom tomaotes, radishes, cucumbers, carrots etc. arrive at the table with an incredible dip and grilled bread. I also recommend the mussels in white wine sauce. Lunch at Club 55 is not complete without dessert. The tarte tropeziene is a MUST! Order the one with the mini strawberries. read more

Le Club 55 is arguably the most famous beach club in the South of France. It draws in the celebrities and millionaires like bees on honey. The parking lot has more bentleys and ferraris than most cities. While we didn't run into Joan Collins on this visit, I did spy at least one celebrity dog decked out in an excessive among of bling. That said, it's a surprisingly sedate and low-key beach club and restaurant and families are more than welcome (unlike nearby party hot spot Nikki Beach). Le Club 55's open air "see and be seen" restaurant is set back from the beach and is well shaded under a canopy of trees. It's a massive space and feels almost like you're at a wedding with the large round tables, baby blue chequered tablecloths and white chairs. The service was friendly and remarkably unpretentious...lots of causal joking from our waitress who made more than one cheeky remark about our group's collective hangovers. The food while on the pricey side is good. My friends loved their mussels and I was rather happy with my steak frites. We didn't order the crudités which apparently is a must have at Le Club 55, as is ordering magnums of Rosé. After dining you can make yourself down to the beach where for a few euro you can get a shaded mattress on the sand. Note if you go to the beach, bring a towel...ones for sale at Le Club 55 go for 150 euro...yikes! Also make a booking (separate reservations required for the beach and the restaurant) a few weeks in advance. Le Club 55 is a St Tropez institution and you really haven't been to St Tropez if you don't spend a day here with a bottle of Rosé. read more

Beautiful beach front restaurant that is a classic in St. Tropez. However, I will admit - slightly overrated. The food was great, the portions were quite large so I recommend going in a group and eating in a sharing style. The table set up is aesthetically pleasing and the location is photogenic. Live music (band and singer) was lovely. Is Le Club 55 overpriced? Yes. Is it a wonderful experience? Also yes. I'd recommend it for a special meal or if you're interested in a classy lunch by the beach. We were a party of five and we all had a long and very nice four bottle of rose lunch. The beach afterwards was a ball. This came highly recommended to us by friend and so we thought we would give it a shot. We were taking a Mediterranean cruise and this is one of our ports for the day. A cab ride took us from the port to the club. You can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas for the day (i'm pretty sure two lounge chairs and umbrella without a towel cost $70). They have a snack shack where you can order beverages or snacks and you can bring them down to the beach. There is also a really great gift shop on the beach. I would say overall it was amazing if money is not an object. Everything is super super expensive. We had an delicious lunch with the a bottle of rose. With the rentals of the lounge chairs and umbrella, plus the lunch and snacks last transportation to and from the area we probably had a $500+ day. But we figured it was a once-in-a-lifetime so that's why I'm giving this five stars. We knew what we were getting into. read more

Full of Americans, English & Russians Club 55 on St Tropez's Pampelonne beach is worth a visit to watch the rich and the want to be rich strutting their stuff. Given its reputation, the price for lunch is less than you might think (around EUR50 to EUR60 including wine etc. providing you choose sensibly) the food is simple but okay, the waiters are busy and can be surly, and the people are loud, in all respects but you see some sights. Getting a table can be difficult the best way is to make a reservation at least a day before, then, on the day, go to the back of the restaurant grab a waiter and firmly register the fact that you're ready to take your table. Alternatively you can have a drink (EUR5 for a beer) in the main beach bar adjoining the restaurant which is very cool with its white sofas and which is as good a way as any to see what all the fuss is about. read more

Overrated! Not sure why so many people and websites say this is a must-go in St Tropez, but it's just a beach with a ton of beach chairs that you can pay for to use for the whole day. Not really a big party if that's what you're looking for. ;) Do you need reservations? -- If you want a chair at the very front near the water, make reservations 3-4 days in advance. But, they have plenty of other chairs that aren't reserved in the back. Also, most people make reservations for lunch along with the beach chair. Should you bring towels? -- Yes! The towels they sell are SUPER expensive. Bring your own towel or if you see someone selling cheap towels on the beach, buy them. Do they take credit card? -- Yes for lunch, but for expenses on the beach (chairs + drinks), they only take cash. Service is not bad, but be nice to them! I saw someone who wasn't that nice and they got a chair in the very back although there were plenty closer to the front. read more

I expected much much more from the famous St. Tropex! The beach is sandy alright but nothing on the beach screams class. Compared to many other private resorts it is pretty ordinary . The water taste like gasoline of all the boats engine running in it. The restaurant is nice and I liked the atmosphere it creates for you from the Moment you enter. Why you should check it ou: 1. This is the nr. 1 place in St. Tropez if you want to be on the beach 2. You might see celebrities ( personally I didn't care about this one, your so busy enjoying your time I'm not sure you would notice them) 3. Sandy beach and amazing weather These are reasons I wouldn't go here: 1. Crazy traffic to get in and out ( only one lane road with man stops) 2. Crowded( forget coming here if your into relaxing and enjoying the breeze and sound of the waves! Your not getting that here) 3. Not a toddler friendly place( the beach area is jam packed with sun beds that only a short area is open to walk on/ play right before your in the sea) 4. The food is good but nothing to talk about. If you have kid under age 4 bring your booster chair for the restaurant as they don't have any to offer. 5.shower is sooooooo cold !!!!! Everyone who tok a shower after their swim reacted on how old the water was!!!!!!! If this is the private beach, I don't want to know any public beach in St.Tropez then!!!! Was this going to be a St Tropez cliche spot? Yes and it was fabulous!! We fell somewhere in between the locals and the posers who just wanted to be rubbing elbows with celebrities and those who come for lunch off of their mega yachts anchored along the shoreline. It was heaven for us. We brought our kids who had a ball playing all day on the beach and ate at the more casual snack bar (snack bar is cash only, or you can add the kids bill to your lunch ticket in the main restaurant-which is what we did.) We had sun beds in about the third row (which we reserved 2 weeks out) and loved the relaxation of sitting under our umbrellas looking at the Mediterranean. Swimming is refreshing and blissful. As for lunch, the people watching is spectacular, the service attentive and friendly and the food--pretty good. Skip the artichoke, but the lentils salad was relish and friends enjoyed their omelet and quiche. The house rose for 30 euro was dry and good. We are staying in Mougins so the drive was about 1.5 hours. We planned to leave around 8am to avoid traffic which would have been smart but didn't get out of the house until about 9:30, getting us there around 11:30. The last 15KM into Club 55 is pretty stop and go but overall, well worth it!! There is a very nice boutique on the beach as well. This is for sure the spot to be at while vacationing in St. Tropez. The food here is very good and is always a good time! I like to come here and drink Rose all day and then walk up and down the beach and see many celebrities. The parking lot upon arrival is always impressive. Millions of euros in cars lined up in the whole lot. It is expensive but I don't even look at the bill when I'm done. It gets a little scary. It has a chill environment and isn't too loud like the other places up and down the beach. I also like their store on the beach to get a few things from time to time but be careful...the suntan lotion is crazy expensive. I can't wait to come back and enjoy myself with Elton John again! read more

The white linens and buckets of Rose remind you that you are indeed in the South of France. After lunch, rent a beach chair & catch some sun in their private beach club area. But beach is beautiful and you can see the super yachts in the distance and the rafts docking to bring the super rich to lunch here... The restaurant is one of the best in seafood! The most beautiful, natural beach setting in St. Tropez. You will need a reservation during the summer because this place is packed. But, either bring your towels or lots of cash because towels are not included with your mattress rental and cost $80 to $120 per towel in the beachside boutique. The beach attendants lacked the friendliness and service found at other nearby beach clubs, but the personalities of the servers in the restaurant made of for the service deficiencies on the beach. read more
