I've had facial redness for years now, and my dermatologist confirmed that it was sun damage. I didn't think there was anything that could be done about it, since the dermo kind of shrugged it (and my other concern of a raised bump on my nose) off. Fast forward a few months: a coworker had said something about a treatment that she had done to combat sun damage. My ears perked up and I asked her for more information. Long story short, she referred me to Sandra at Skincare Company Spa. I had my third IPL about 4 weeks ago, and I'm seeing legitimate improvements in my skin: so much cheek redness has already gone away. I never thought this was possible! I'm hoping that a fourth treatment can make a bigger dent in the cheek redness that I have. Some brown spots (that I thought were freckles!) lifted and my skin is smoother than it's ever been. Years of pox marks and cystic acne scars have also lessened. Sandra also targeted some keratosis the last time - AKA that strange bump on my nose that my dermatologist shrugged off as not being important enough to address. Sandra absolutely knows skin! She is thorough and knowledgeable about cultural/geographic implications of skin. On my 1st visit, I shared what I knew (that I was primarily Irish), but by the last/3rd visit, after I'd had two prior treatments, we discussed the specifics of my skin and how the characteristics of my skin indicated that there's more to it than just Irish. I pulled up my (updated) Ancestry, which I hadn't looked at in years, and my results aligned with what Sandra was saying. I learned so much from Sandra, which I love. Additionally, Amanda does a lot of body work & noticed during my spray tan that I was having shoulder issues. My right shoulder had been bothering me for some time, & she was the first to tell me without even touching my shoulder that I had rotator cuff issues. I was wary of texting the number but got a prompt response. It was beyond thoughtful of her to ask why and when I needed to be event ready and she advised the best timing to be sure I'd look and feel my best. Mind you - I had a less than 48 hour window before I had to be good to go. In my experience, it can be rare for someone with the setup and professionalism of Amanda to be able to book on such short notice, let alone for a Friday in the midst of late summer/early fall wedding season. She directed me to her website which clearly lists the standard prep for best results. On arrival, Amanda explained everything that would happen from start to finish then went on to narrate why she was doing what she was doing at each step. She was kind and professional and made me feel very at ease and even finished off with a dusting of homemade powder that smelled fricken DIVINE and ensured I made it back to my car sweat free! While developing, I noted that the formula she used is one of the least smelly I've ever had applied. No small feat considering the beautiful color I got to. I'm lucky to live close by but she travels and I would recommend her to any family member or friend looking to add a little color. The person who was cutting my hair just kept saying well you're getting older and sometimes hair changes texture. But Arissa said hey your bangs haven't been being cut properly. You can even specify a hairstylist should you have a preference. Someone from the salon called to check in and ensure I had the best experience by asking a few basic questions about what I wanted for a cut. I was really impressed by the thoroughness in follow-up. When I got to the salon, check in was quick, the front desk kindly asked to hang up my coat, and there was no wait time (despite arriving slightly early for my appointment). You could also request a refreshment, and they have one of the most extensive coffee menus I've ever seen! The wash, cut, and styling were all done seamlessly, with my stylist periodically asking clarifying questions along the way. I paid at the door, and inquired when I should be back. Another staff member knowledgeably mentions about 6-8 weeks to maintain the shape of the cut. Everyone was so warm and kind. Not to mention, there's great parking in the front and in the alley.
