They get a 1 Star for poor service. We had a 7:30 reservation for Hibachi. When we walked in, there was a couple in front of us who did not have a reservation and they got seated for Hibachi. When we got to the front, they told us there was a 20 or 30 minute wait for Hibachi even though we had a reservation and the couple in front of us did not. The explanation was... all the tables are full. Seriously? When we asked the person who seated us in the restaurant why the couple got seated instead of us, we got no apology, just a deer in the headlights look and an embarrassed response that uh, she wasn't sure. We left... They are getting one star for poor customer service. read more

We went last night (Dec 7) while they were having about a 4 table Christmas party. Every person on staff was running around busting their butts trying to keep everyone happy. Once we were seated at the hibachi there was a slight misunderstanding on what chef should be there. Tyler, the chef and a lady I believe named Jalissa could not have apologized more. They knew they had messed up and were apologetic enough to comp the whole hibachi table meal. The food ( we had sushi, hibachi scallops, shrimp, lobster and a filet) were top notch. With that being said we have been going there for a few years and have never had a problem like last night. Top notch service and amazing food as always!! read more

Hit and miss ... I have enjoyed some meals and others I wanted to send back. However the service is always good.

This was definitely an unexpected treat while traveling through NE. The avocado appetizer was awesome. Same with the sushi. The staff was very nice even though we came in close to closing time. Would definitely go here again when traveling though. read more

Hubby & I drove from Grand Island to eat sushi here. Food was okay, not stellar, but not bad. Interior is pretty and the service was great. Will we drive 45 minutes to eat here again, probably not, but if in the area would probably stop in. read more

I have been here once so far. We had the hibachi meal with 5 other people we didn't know. The food was good, but the chef did the traditional "tricks' but he seemed bored with it. Throwing broccoli at the guests to try and catch was not a great idea, as most missed and got food stains on their clothes. The food was good. I am going to go back and order off the menu and try the sushi. It may get a higher rating then. Very pricey if you have the hibachi grill. Great for kids and first timers that have not been to a ShoGun or similar as the "tricks" are all the same and kinda old. read more

I just love this Resturant! Great food and friendly staff. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star rating is because of my last visit there. The young lady messed up a couple of things on our order (forgot our 2 appetizers). We had to remind her twice about it. She should've deducted them from our bill but did not. We won't be going here again. Son wanted this as his dinner before we move him into college tomorrow. We show up and told 10 minutes for Hibachi grill. Two other groups show up after. When the table is ready, they attempted to sit us in between the two grills, unbelievable!! Can't even see the grill. They then told us it would be 20 more minutes. No way to treat your customers. Excellent food!! I love Hibachi places and this one was great. They put yum yum sauce in the fried rice, which was new to me and I loved it. They were really busy when we were there but the service was quick and friendly. They chef was super entertaining and did a great job with the food. Great experience. We went with our family, even though we had to share hibachi table with another family. Didn't matter one bit, the service was great very entertaining. We arrived at 6:45pwith several people in front of us. They were seated fairly fast and we were told there would be a 10 minute wait. The wait was only 5 minutes, we were seated at the hibachi grill and our drink order taken, water and small hot saki. Menu was diverse with steak and seafood options, the cooks seem friendly and personable. They had a selection of raw and cooked rolls, we picked the philly roll and an eel avocado roll. Me and my wife ordered the steak and scallops on the hibachi grill The kit came out after reviewing our order and made it for us and put on a show what something is on fire and did some really awesome stuff that's really hard to describe here it's something that you have to be there to see for yourself. I feel that it's one of those places you may not want to go to every night of the week especially because of the price but the food is worth the price and the experienceis something that's unforgettable. I was going to give it four stars because it took us almost 20 minutes to get our check but as I walked around the restaurant I noticed today there was only two servers on the floor on a busy weekend. So if it takes a while to get your check or drinks be patient and understand that there is not a lot of Service right now I wish I could remember her name but she ran her butt off for us. read more

I visited Kyoto with my family and quite enjoyed all the things they kind of put on my plate without asking (That was alright, the more the better.) The chef got laughs out of all the people he served and we all really enjoyed the little trick with the onions where the chef positions them to resemble a volcano. Kyoto was a great stop and a great addition to the variety of ethnic meals in Kearney. 5/5 stars for all of the food (Even if you don't want it) the service was great, was seated with another family almost as soon as i walked into the door. All in all, Kyoto was an amazing choice to spend my evening and the food tasted perfect, along with all of the complimentary yum-yum sauce. (Foot note: The Japanese soda tastes just like the flavor on the bottle, it was astonishing. The bottle even has a cool little marble inside of it.) read more

Kyoto is everything that is right about good food I've had the sushi the hibachi everything practically except the American food(why would I want a steak at a Japanese restaurant). I've never had a bad experience and it's worth every penny I spend!!!! This is about the only restaurant in Kearney that has always amazed me. Tried to enjoy a nice meal with my family but apparently this restaurant had different plans they gave us a waiting time of 30 min which is totally understandable, until a bigger size family comes in and waits a tops of 10 mins before they get called me being a little upset I talk to the person in the front and she told me it's going to be another 20 min so we waited. 10 min later they call another family that just got there. We waited a full hour until we had enough and decided that it was time to leave. I don't recommend this place. read more

A good experience and food was yummy. I would prefer a few different options for chicken on the hibachi like I have seen at other grills in other towns. More spice is always nice! Good sushi selection and we were happy with the volcano roll. Like I said I got the hibachi chicken which was teriyaki and my bf got steak and scallops and happy. The fried rice was excellent as were the veggies and the shrimp. I have also seen other places give you a small salad, soup, and sherbet. The food we had was EXCELLENT! If you want actual Japanese food here, unfortunately you won't get it. We stopped for lunch today. I ordered beef ramen soup. First, beef is rarely used for ramen. The traditional meat is pork. This wasn't a choice on the menu. They surprisingly used the dollar package of ramen noodles along with the flavor packet that has a week's worth of salt all in one meal. They added a few pieces of roundhead cabbage and carrots. So disappointing. The service was even worse. They had one server get our order (we ordered an appetizer that was never delivered). Another server brought our food so didn't know what we ordered. They didn't come back in a timely manner to see how we were doing. They never refilled our water glasses. I had to ask for some water. She filled a pitcher and just dropped it off, never offering to fill the glasses. They weren't very busy while we were there, so I would have expected better service. We didn't see any Japanese employees. This place seems to be people from other Asian countries trying to make Japanese food but failing miserably. I had heartburn before I even finished my meal. Another of our party had some sushi, which was made from the wrong type of rice and only offered a miniature amount of wasabi. The fried rice was equally disappointing.
