I pulled in thinking I'd grab a quick fill up and maybe a sad bag of chips. Rookie mistake. This place is the size of a small country. You don't "stop" at Buc-ee's. You commit to it. First off, the pumps. There are so many pumps you start wondering if they're preparing for the apocalypse. No waiting, no nonsense, just pull up and go. Then you walk inside and it hits you. This is not a convenience store. This is a full blown experience. It's like Walmart, a barbecue joint, and a souvenir shop had a very successful child. And then you hear it... "Fresh brisket on the board!" That's not an announcement. That's a call to action. The barbecue is legit. Not "good for a gas station" good. Just straight up good. The turkey sandwich is my go to, piled high and paired with those fresh cooked chips that disappear faster than your willpower. You walk in thinking snack.
