I especially love their impressive array of flours, nuts and dried fruits and the the fact that they carry "Lizard Leaves" - baby greens grown by local farmers. Without a doubt, these are the freshest and most delectable baby greens I have ever eaten - and yes, you have to come all the way to Cornwall to find them. Also, they carry one of the best pasties in the UK...it may sound unbelievable, but it is true. Their pasties are made with spelt flour, vegetable oil (not lard) and the fillings are fresh and tasty without being overly salty. The result is a crispy, flavorful and delicious product that will win the heart of even the most demanding Brit. We have tasted every pasty in Falmouth and they are in the top three with the Cornish Miner and Presto. As a New Yorker, I have shopped in some of the finest and most lovingly tended health food stores around and The Natural Store is right up there with some of the best.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and make this place a gem. I saw one give directions to a little old lady who wandered in from the street and even equipped her with a map before sending her on her way. Another staff member kept an eye on the children who were sat outside while their parents were inside and reported on the boy shenanigans that were going on. Even a young solo backpacking foreign diner was made to feel comfortable and at home. The Cafe's also displays local art works on their walls which are available for purchase. Stop by and visit Olive's Cafe. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

It was very crowded and I sat down at a table with some people who had been waiting for their food for a long time. When the waitress brought mine (about 10 mins or so to put some salad portions on a plate and carry the plate about 20 feet!) it turned out the couple should have been told there was a delay with cooked food but had not been. Too many people had ordered quiche and they had had to cook some more but the cafe only has a tiny oven, apparently. This seems a bit odd for such a busy cafe with so many seats in so many sections on various floors. When I was leaving (not wildly late for lunch) they had run out of several of the salads and were not going to make any more. A man was getting a bit exasperated at the thought of paying that much for only about three different salads. Maybe they have a tiny fridge as well and therefore can't make sufficient in advance to feed all the people who turn up for lunch every day! All in all a pleasant cafe but could do a great deal better.

We ran across this gem of a tea house while we were looking for a cream tea while staying in…read moreFalmouth (and wine, the other half loves any place that is a wine bar). It's a very unusual type of place, not expected for that area of the country. It reminded me of some place I would have found in Santa Cruz. The decor is quite eclectic and styled from the 1920's. The scones were very tasty (we both had the fruit scones). The tea was some of the best I've had! They use teapigs tea, and it really is amazing. We both ordered Earl Grey, but unfortunately the server was a bit flaky, and I ended up with English Breakfast. (They were both tasty, but the Earl Grey was by far superior for me!) We also ordered a cheese plate consisting of three cheeses: Fourme D'Ambert, Wookey Hole Cheddar, and an English Brie copycat. They were all great. The woman running the place asked us if we wanted French bread or oatcakes, and since I like oatcakes and the other half likes French bread, she made us a plate with both. It was served with a delicious chutney and an amazing honey. We also got a bottle of Sauncere to go with it. We had a great time. The owner's dog runs around trying to get food from all the diners (and she's adorable). We'll definitely go back the next time we're in Falmouth!

Found/went to Dollys based on Yelp reviews…read more We were driving around the area and wanted to find a place for cream tea. It looked/sounded good. All in all the food was good. The sandwiches/bread in particular were very fresh and tasty. The cream tea was good but - we're talking jam, cream, and scones. Three things that are pretty hard to not like and also pretty hard to balls up. So it was good but the scones could have been warmer/fresher. Our cups and saucers were a bit dirty. I liked the theme generally, although it seemed rather confused. It was neither traditional english, nor 1920s, nor rustic. The space was really nice but it seemed almost too kitsch-y. It kind of just looked lazy. Now the dog is so cute. I loved him/her. But there is a time and a place for a dog and by your table begging for food is not one of them. I think he/she should've been confined to the bar area not the eating part. The service was really good and everyone was really nice. I gave it 2 stars because I think it was good, but I think it could, and should've been much, much better for £4 scone + tea.

It's in an ideal location just a stone's throw from the centre of St Ives, where you'll find ancient pubs, trendy cafes and lots of art galleries the town is famous for. A perfect place for a beach picnic - you can easily get all you need from the town, the beach is busy in summer with families who enjoy the easy access, and in winter the surf brigade from the town have all those rollers right on their doorstep. Porthmeor is one of only eight beaches in Cornwall that hold the prestigious Blue Flag Award 2021, given in recognition of water quality, safety, environmental management and education. Lifeguard cover from Easter until the end of October (2021). Parking - the car parks in St Ives get full very early in main season, and the large car park at the top of town can bit a hike back up. Please note: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 15th May and 30 September (10am - 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place (2020).

We only had to wait a few minutes at the car park just up the hill, and we were seated almost immediately, though we were told that the kitchen was quite backed up (10am on the last Saturday in August, beautiful morning), so we'd need to wait about 10 minutes to order. No bother, we started with hot chocolate and a carrot-ginger juice (made in house). Drinks were great. Unfortunately, when we did get to order, we were told that they were out of pancakes. So both J and J ended up with poached eggs and toast. Jimmy got the side of chorizo. I got the scrambled eggs, cornish crab, crème fraiche, lemon and rocket. Though the kitchen was backed up, the food came decently quickly. My eggs were delightful and mixed quite well with all the other toppings. The views of the beach and surf school were entertaining, as were the menus with the clippings mentioning the historic shipwrecks and even the subsequent capsizing of a lifeboat during the rescue. It's a charming spot, but you'll need to get there early if you want pancakes.
