They sell…read moreorganic vegetables (the ones that come in all shapes and sizes, and colours!), fresh breads (mainly all sorts of brown and wholemeal kinds) plus a huge range of herbs and spices. The staff are probably vegetarians, and are very helpful and pleasant. They also have a variety of nuts for sale, and all sorts of other goodies, like soya milks, fruit bars and so on. You would not be able to guarantee the availability of the same fresh items each week, sometimes there will be loads of tomatoes, the next week none, but loads of aubergines and onions! The bread usually sells out very quickly too, so go early!

As this place only opened this year I had to try it out as I use the cafe in Penzance and have always been very impressed. I chose the mediteranean tarts with goats cheese (well that's what it said on the board) so when I received one small not very filled tart which crumbled to nothing and a small salad I was very disappointed - not the usual standard I had come to expect although it was tasty. I haven't been back since as I go to Lettuce and Lovage over the road.

In this case, it's the £2 you have to hand over for a bar. But, after you've had one, you'll probably work harder to earn more for another one and then another, one of the Chilli ones, or the cool Peppermint ones. There are others, 8 varieties to get through before you can decide which is the favourite. Of course, it might take a couple of attempts to get that definitive decision and even then, the mood might have swung from gentle Goji towards fire-eating Chilli. So, it might take quite a long investigative journey. In the meantime, work harder; earn more pennies. They are very pleasant in the shop and will let you have a taster to help. While you're there of course, it's not just Raw Chocolate Pie; they have all sorts of other super-foods to tempt. And when your stash has run out, don't fret as they will send you replenishment choco-fixes, postage free. Check the place out when you're in St Ives; even if you're in Carlisle right now, definitely worth the trip down there. Or you could have a look at their web site. Highly recommended.
