I've been a patient of Dr Oh for almost 15 years due to chronic pain conditions. He has always been wise about my medications, always goes through my med list with me so that there aren't issues of med interactions. I'm a retired RN after a severe injury on-the-job, which broke my hips and several vertebrae, wrist and resulted in chronic pain. I've had several hip surgeries as they keep having problems. So, as a medical professional, I recognize Dr Oh's really caring treatment. He's even returned calls while he was out of the country on vacation! He's cares for everyone equally, and he manages complex spine issues. These injuries don't always just "heal up" and go away. Some stay forever and living day-to-day without his management would be much more limited. Your world shrinks with chronic pain. Even with the pain, a walker and medication, I can't walk through the grocery store, down the street where I live or even to the park next door! This has been going on for 16 years and I trust Dr Oh completely. He's the only doctor who really knows me, knows that I don't -and never would- abuse my medication. Without it, I'd be in bed 24/7. That's not living, to me. It's existing. I had a bad femur fracture in '22 which split the femur down the middle from the knee almost to the hip. I was "no weight bearing" for 2 months in a skilled nursing facility with two demented, incontinent roommates. After I could do PT with weight bearing, I worked as hard as I could to get strong and to gth out of there. It's not living, just existence. It took more months of PT/rehab, and even my doctors there continued Dr. Oh's regimen. They said that they knew that I was still in pain but I didn't want to come out of that facility as an addict. My doctors there said "stick with him. He clearly cares well for you." So, to the people who had a less-than-optimal experience, I feel sad. Nobody should feel bad about their Dr. The plans have to work for YOU, and Dr Oh will treat you with respect. If you are looking for a "pill mill" to get high, don't bother. He can see that in a heartbeat and can help you to get sober, but he won't just feed your addiction. It must be hard to have to buy meds on the street or from folks you can't trust. All of my other doctors (orthopedic, rheumatologist, primary care, etc) have been kept in the loop when changes have been made. That's real care, compassion and professionalism. read more

I am still a patient of Dr Oh's. It saddens and irritates me to see the vile and disgusting things that have been said about him, his wife and his office staff. As someone who first saw him in July 1997 after a horrible car accident he has been nothing but kind, compassionate, caring and firm. He is not against alternative treaments like chiropractors, acupuncture, massage, physical therapy, etc. His dedication is one of the only things that is keeping me walking upright. I am the first to admit that I am not the easiest patient. The amount of nerve damage, spinal surgeries, etc have made treatments very trying. When my neurosurgeon retired during Covid, I asked Dr. Oh who he woud recommend. He worked with my primary to get the new lumbar MRI ordered and the referrals to Swedish. He has set up my referrals for Evergreen Health Sport and Spine for the physician I have been seeing for caudal injections as I have so much scar tissue that I can't have traditional lumbar injections. When my primary changed a medication for my T2D, I had been on it for over 6 months and I mentioned something to Dr. Oh at an appointment and he said to disuss with my primary, but the medication should be increased as it had plateaued. I sent a message that afternoon to my primary and he said Dr. Oh was absolutely correct. He is in the loop with all of my specialists and vice versa. You see, it is YOUR responsibility as the patient to make sure taht every physician that you see communicates with one another. It is YOUR responsibility to kee ptrack of the billing and make sure you insurance is not over or under paying and you are paying any co-pays. It is also YOUR responsibilityto be your own advocate. If you do not understand why a certain course of treatment is prescribed or xrays, MRI's, CT, etc have not been done in quite some time, speak up. It is easy to berate and complain on a website/app about "how you had a ba experience", but what was your role in that? I am one that is not looking forward to the day when Dr. Kyle Oh decides to retire as we have very few good doctors in our area that truly care. I have a couple different things going on with my body. One, chronic back pain that is getting worse, since 1995, which is what I want Dr Oh focusing on but I also have fibromyalgia diagnosed just a year ago which is debilitating in itself but these knots I get are excruciatingly painful and he had said to me "I am giving you the maximum amount of pain med for the amount of pain your in". Anyone else see what's wrong with that sentence? Exactly. But no other mention of how I can help myself at home with this back pain. I just keep getting sent to lab for more and more and even more blood tests. That of course shows nothing wrong bc that's fibro for you. I'm more concerned with how bad my pain gets due to disc problems, degenerative disease, and phantom pain. knotted up in lower back and the loss of mobility bc of the pain and this low dose pain management is not helping much at all. He refuses to discuss going up on pain meds, adding something with the pain med or even discussing how bad my pain is. Fix it without drugs would be great I mean who wants to be dependent on pills for Christ sake. But with no other options being provided. That's what I get from him. A very low and non effective dose of pain medicine. I am down again today for the 3rd week in a row with terrible knots in my back. I cannot function it's extremely debilitating, keeps me in bed. I called last Friday and spoke to the receptionist and also left a message about this to see if I could come in and see him maybe he could help with these knots. But, no one ever returned my call also he said to go ahead and take an extra pain pill due to oral surgery but then even after I called to remind him, my pain medication did not get called in on time so I went several days without anything at all. I may change this rating in future but it depends on how I am treated moving forward. Might not be going here much longer. I need to find someone who's willing to at least give me a physical exam which no Dr has done out of the 8 dr's I've seen in last year. So idk what I think yet. Pretty disappointed right now. read more

I have been trying to settle a billing issue with a service that was completed more than a year ago! I'm telling you, make sure if you do have to come see them, to check every bill before you pay! At first the office tried to charge me full price for an operation ($7,000+) because they completed the paperwork too later. It specifically said the paperwork was received too late on my EOB and that is why it was denied. However, the office did not inform me and then just sent an invoice for all of the payment. I complained and maybe 6 months later I received a new bill for around $600. I paid it, but once i received my new EOB, I saw that the office was overcharging and part of their claim was denied because it Exceeded the Medically Unlikely Edit. I actually only owed my $20 copay instead. In other words, they had charged for more services than what was even possible to operate in a given day. I have been trying to contact them for a refund for the past 10 months and like all others have stated, the billing person (the Dr's Wife) just comes up with one excuse after the other! All of them are about how she is too busy and she has even asked me to send her the same EOB 3 times! My insurance company had been calling multiple times and just received the same excuses! This is legitimately a scam! I've tried contacting the doctor and he had just kept referring me to his wife who is useless! She is also so rude! Not to mention, I had a second billing issue where they tried to charge me another $700 because they exceeded the medically unlikely edit once more! Luckily, I caught on this time and did not pay. She has told me multiple times that she is going to have it "settled in a couple days" and now refuses to even answer my e-mails. DON'T GO HERE! I'm telling you! It's really not worth the risk! Even if you think he might be a nice doctor, there are plenty of them elsewhere! They have tried to charge my insurance as much as they can and then myself as well! Read the other yelp reviews and you will see that many other patients have had issues with this billing person as well! read more

I've been a patient of Dr Oh for 6 years now, the thing I learned is that he is a very patient man, your not going to get a fix, or score some drugs, what your going to get is help, he understands that addiction and pain and tolerance are all different, I started out on pain meds over 10 years ago, at one point I spent 500.00 a week buying them off the street, my life was in shambles... I went to him and asked for help, Ive been on a bupe regiment ever since, he understands me, my needs and truly saved my life. Without this man I would be dead. I have moved out of state, 300 miles one way to see the doctor is a very, very long way, but after seeing over a dozen doctors In a 12 year span, he is pure quality and cannot be replaced in any way. I am reviewing Dr. Oh for the second time because I am troubled by some of the negative reviews I've read. I have been a patient of his for many, many years and let me say -this man is one of the most caring, patient and genuine physicians I've ever met. I have given him SO many reasons to just boot me out of his practice, but he doesn't. He cares about me, I believe and KNOW that. It appears as though most of the complaints revolve around "money" and "pain meds". If you have issues with your insurance company or the way it was billed -let them (the insurance company) do thier job and take care of it for you. If it's something you need to pay out of pocket, why are we complaining? It's your responsibility to check your benefits prior to seeking care. Not to mention they are more than happy to set up a reasonable payment plan for you. As far as the "pain meds", Dr. Oh can smell a rat a mile away. He's not a pill mill and certainly doesn't want to lose his license for bending over backwards to hand out pills to be abused or diverted. We are running out of good pain Drs in the area due to the federal crack-down. Please don't harass him or his wonderful receptionist. If you're hurting, he will help you. I was in serious pain and unable to walk because of a severe pinched nerve. Was referred to a group Evergreen Health Sport and Spine and could not be seen for 2 weeks. Called a few times and pleaded to get me in but they could not accommodate. Was referred next to Dr Kyle Oh. Dr Oh's front desk called me and got me in the next morning. He was great, answered all questions, and helped me start the process of relieving the pain immediately. Within 2 days, I got an MRI, follow up consult with Dr Oh, and scheduled for a procedure. From first visit to procedure, it was all personal care and he was there whenever needed. The experience he has showed throughout each step. I strongly encourage considering his practice if you need personal care and immediate attention. My only hope is that I would have seen him a week sooner and not messed with trying to get in and see another group. I could have been back to work a week sooner. I am sure the other group is good but there is something to be said for immediate pain relief, a highly knowledgable physician who has the experience and done thousands of diagnosis and procedures, and gives personal care. Billing Nightmare! They repeatedly billed my insurance as "work related" injury causing my insurance to deny coverage. I spent 6 months clearing it up with my insurance and they had the nerve to bill me $35 after refusing to help me correct the problem. Fast forward 3 months after paying the $35 to be rid of them they send me another bill threatening to send me to collection for non-payment of the $35... I sent a copy of the check from my bank with their endorsement and pray I never hear from them again. "0" stars if I could! read more

I experienced a non stable spinal burst fracture in February of 2018. My L5 had snapped in the front, been crushed into 3 pieces in the back and a piece had broken off on the left side. Within the space of 10 days I saw a neurologist that incorrectly diagnosed me and fitted me with a plastic brace, a chiropractor that gave me an adjustment without ordering an X-Ray, my regular MD who gave me injections of steroids for pinched nerves, a massage therapist who treated me for sciatica and 2 emergency room doctors who also told me it was a pinched nerve. I had 3 X-Ray's and a CT Scan and it was Dr. Oh that correctly diagnosed me. I was then referred to an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon and within 5 days I underwent a 7 hour surgery and had 2, 8" titanium rods, 10 titanium screws, a bone graft and a titanium cage installed in my back at Overlake Hospital. When I saw the Orthopedic Surgeon at Dr Oh's recommendation he said to me and I'll never forget it, "Graham please don't trip or fall between now and your surgery or you will paralyze yourself." I have been under the care of Dr. Oh since then and he has been very forward thinking and professional in dealing with my back issues as a result of my injury. Highly recommended. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Oh. I saw him in 1995 when I hurt my back from lifting my huge son. I'm a clinician and one of my patients suggested I see him. I was so glad I did. He was thorough and such a nice person! I continued to see him for several years off and on when I would have a flare up. Fast forward to last December. It had been over a decade since I needed to see him but my oldest son was addicted to heroin. He finally accepted my offer of help and agreed to get on suboxone. I had no idea where to turn. A co-worker told me her husband was treated by Dr. Oh and so I called his office. I was a mess! I explained that I had been his patient years ago and trusted him. I asked if he would be able to fit my son in. He immediately agreed to fit him in that day! He was willing to stay late two days before Christmas to see him. My son was initiated on suboxone and doing well. Last Sunday my son admitted he tries to wean off suboxone and ended up relapsing. He had blown off a visit with Dr. Oh and just convinced himself that he would be dropped as a patient. I encouraged him to call and be honest about what happened. He did. Dr. Oh recognized the urgency and fit him in the next day. My son is back on suboxone and doing well. It's important to note that since his first appointment with this beautiful Doctor, he started college, getting into a program that accepts very few students and was doing exceptionally well. My son thought that he knew better than Dr. Oh and tried to do things his own way. Leading him down a path of destruction. There were many times when my son was in active addiction that I was sure he would die. Dr. Oh never judged or shamed him. He was kind and encouraging. This man knows about addiction and how to treat it based on each individual's unique needs. He saved my sons life twice and thus saved this mom the heartbreak of having to bury my child because of a disease that does not discriminate. I see the other comments that have been negative. They are BULLSHIT! If you or someone you know is struggling, this is THE man to see!!! We love you Dr. Oh!!! You have changed our lives forever! read more

I don't recall how I came about seeing Dr Kyle Oh, but I do know that he is one of the best doctors out there! When I was in so much pain and no other Doctors had answers, he did and he use to tell me, "there is a light at the end of the tunnel Melissa" I did not believe him but he was correct. He listens, he cares he also understands. He is not there to rush you out of his office for the next patient. I visited Dr Oh some years back for two reasons. Chronic back pain, and a need to get off of Methadone, which I had been on for years for said back pain. His ad for spinal pain management, along with his license to do Suboxone therapy for detox of opiates was key to my making an appointment. I called one Friday, explaining my pain and METHADONE issue, and his (snotty) receptionist advised me to stop dosing immediately, and come in 8 am Monday morning. Monday morning he greeted, interviewed, and put me through the typical [heroin, oxy] Suboxone protocol. Important note... Methadone is very different than heroin and oxy, and should be handled differently - receptionist should have advised I abstain, and come in a WEEK and A HALF from now.. This difference caused me to experience precipitated withdrawal later that day/night following Monday's appointment. For the curious, look up 'precipitated withdrawal' on google. So apparently, he let his receptionist manage the 'minor' details of medical stuff, or he didn't know the difference, or didn't believe me. I researched/realized all these little medical facts long after this experience. Had I known this stuff sooner, I would have called an attorney. AVOID THIS 'MD' read more

We went to the doctor as my wife was having hand pain. The did a nerve conduction test, nothing was learned. 7 years later we received a bill for these services that the insurance had already paid. I called three times and never got a call back. Finally called and the receptionist said that she was at lunch. I told her that I had called prior and told her my situation. She had me hold while she talked to what I later learned is the doctors wife. She came back and told me that the billing person wanted to finish her lunch and would call me back. Well I'm still waiting...beware of late billing practices and know that under Washington state law RCW 4.16.040 after 6 years they cannot try and collect medical bills. As for billing problems with their office since their bookkeeper does not speak English and cannot answer her phone you cannot resolve issues with her. Don't think I haven't tried. I have been seeing Dr. Oh for about 3 1/2 yrs. I had to switch from my neurologist after the CDC Guidelines came out as he didn't want to prescribe pain meds anymore. I have Trigeminal Neuropathic Pain (nerve damage to Trigeminal Nerve) which causes constant intractable pain. Instead of just continuing w/a regimen that was working & gave me quality of life, Dr. Oh rapidly tapered me to a much lower dosage and despite the fact that I kept telling him I was in agony he kept lowering my dosage. He only is interested in talking about the book he wrote about addiction to opioids, not interested in discussing me, my diagnosis or a treatment plan. I have tried to find another doctor but the post CDC guidelines fear that doctors have is insane. Doctors should be helping their patients, not sending them home in agony. I have a diagnosed medical condition that has no other treatment than to take several medications, including opioids, so that I can function. Without them I am in so much pain I want to die. Trigeminal Neuralgia is also known as the "Suicide Disease" due to the amount of pain it causes. Dr. Oh has no empathy and no communication skills. I have seen others post good reviews. I would bet my life all of those patients are spine patients who don't need opioids or were able to stop taking them. He has a problem with people who need opioids which is a conflict for a Pain Management doctor. And to Wendy S. who thinks that all of the reviews are from patient's who have either "billing issues or pain med issues." It is obvious that it never occurred to you that there are actually medical conditions that exist that cause intractable, debilitating pain that require the use of pain meds for relief. I am one of millions of chronic pain patients who have intractable pain. We do not want to be taking opioids but we need them in order to function. We are not addicts or junkies. We are just regular people trying to live our lives who are asking to be treated like human beings and not have to live in horrific pain every single minute of every single day 24/7, 365 days a year. I saw Dr Oh about 10 years ago and he diagnosed a herniated disc I had. I had surgery and was fine until after a car accident that caused additional trauma to the area. Dr Oh spends less than 15 minutes with each patient and I ended up switching Dr's after he started playing games with my prescriptions. I am not an addict nor have I ever been and I do realize he deals with that a lot. He never expressed any concern about my medication or that I should reduce it etc. He just started not replying to my refill requests that were on schedule. At first he would take a couple days then over a week. I was in serious pain and not having my medication on time made my day to day, work and basic functioning very difficult. I went to another Dr and got the help I needed. No medication problems and they were interested in helping me get better! Ok so I am writing this now because I just got a bill for services that were performed in 2011! Same address and phone number yet I never received a bill until now. What a crappy unprofessional way to do business. I am reporting them to the Washington State Insurance commissioner. read more

This is a Detox Dr!!!! If you need to detox or want Subs, he'll give them to you. If you need a dr. who wants to Help you beyond px'ing meds, keep looking. his "State of the art billing system" is Ipad and his wife. He doesn't have your records other than HIS px notes on hand, and he sure won't get up and get them If you just want meds with zero work or f$@$# given, or to be left alone after a few monthsif showing up on time and playing his little games, this is your man. His book about "Johnny needing drugs" is another scam. Don't look for any books written on Spine Care though. He actually told me my MRi was fine, but he had never ordered an MRI for me, the one he finally saw was over 6 yrs old so ??. He does have a plastic spine propped up in the corner of his office, but there is NO other hint that he is a "Spine Dr". Also, there is no Nurse to even take your BP and his nightmare of a wife runs the billing system, another scam.
