Our children have myopia and some other issues that need to be monitored regularly by a pediatric ophthalmologist rather than an optometrist. It's been so helpful to us with our busy schedules that we have her office down the street from us. Our kids have been seeing Dr. Simon since they were very young... I'm talking 6 month old preemie young. She is highly skilled at her job and is experienced in getting squirmy, pre-verbal children to cooperate and have fun responding to her directions and questions. It's been amazing to watch her interact with our children over the years during their different stages of development. She remembers everything about them at every visit and encourages them to continue to be good people, respect their eyes, and their glasses at a young age. I've had to call the office for various accommodations and emergencies and her staff has always been on top of things. They are always very friendly, understanding, meticulous, and work fast at helping their busy young patients. The only change that came about during the Covid pandemic of 2020 was the office doesn't accept any insurance plans right now. That's not too surprising. The office used to accept insurance before the pandemic. Hopefully times will improve and her office will accept insurance again sooner than later.

So happy to have him!

Dr Vance Washington, per my husband was super nice and thorough. He took his time to rule out other possibilities of infection or diseases and reviewed my husband's medical history. My husband was very pleased and impressed with this UCLA Immediate Care office. P.S. as a follow up to my husband's appointment Dr. Vance Washington emailed and asked how my husband was feeling. Another time I had a doctor named Venus who repeatedly asked if I had guns in the home, if I was going to harm myself or others after I told her I was emotional about feeling like I was going to have a heart attack because I have a baby now and it's very important I stay alive. She responded "well do you wanna be alive?", just completely not understanding my fear or my repeated desires that I would prefer to be alive. Her parting words were to give me a hotline number if I felt I was going to harm myself even though I had made it abundantly clear that again, I wanted to live and was scared I was dying. And thirdly I had Dr. Lee who I am convinced is just a robot. He had the compassion and empathy of a toothpick and when I tried to just express a concern, he mansplained seven times in a row that because I don't have those symptoms now he wouldn't prescribe anything. No shit! No acknowledgement of understanding my feelings or medical history, just gave me robotic, repetitive responses.

His office is NOT a typical turn-and-burn medical office where I **might** see the actual doctor for 2 minutes. Dr. Dougherty took the time to meet me and my husband, TALKED to me to learn more about me, what I wanted from the procedure, and took the time to explain precisely what I could realistically expect. He also detailed what I MAY get, and what I would NOT get. He has a mandatory next day follow up, which is appreciated so I didn't feel like I was tossed in the wind. My ICL needed a little tweaking, so he did a quick 10 minute LASIK to perfect my vision to what I wanted. The ONLY drawback is he only has offices in Westlake Village (where I went), Camarillo, San Luis Obispo, Thousand Oaks, Encino and Simi Valley. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty awesome he has so many locations, BUT they are definitely NOT close to me (WLV is 150 miles each way). They ease the pain of driving by always having fresh made, still warm from the oven, Otis Spunkmeyer cookies ready!

If you're looking for an outstanding optometrist, I highly recommend Dr. Jonathan Truong at TriCounty Eye Institute, located at 1124 S. Main Street in Corona, California. You'll receive exceptional care from a doctor who truly puts his patients first.

I went to see my ophthalmologist & he said he wouldn't medically clear me unless the surgeon is Dr. Tooma. I finally get around to getting a consultation & specifically asked for Dr. Tooma. He also had very limited appts since he is the OG in eye procedures! My patient Liason was Jennfier, who is a total sweetheart. Dr. Tooma was awesome in explaining why he recommended EVO ICL over lasix. He was also one of the original surgeons who brought all this technology to California. Now I can see why my ophthalmologist wanted me to specifically see him. I decided to go with his recommendation since he is the expert. Pre-op procedures were very extensive, which I don't mind at all. I opted to purchase the medicated eyedrops through them. The procedure itself was at a different location nearby. Entire staff has been wonderful. I had my procedure done yesterday. I returned to the clinic in the afternoon for a post op check & also came back earlier today. I have not been able to drive due to the healing process, but I should be able to see. I am still sensitive to the light and there's still a lot of inflammation in both eyes. I am gradually able to see better, so it just takes some patience. I am returning for another check up tomorrow. I love how thorough the doctors have been..I feel comfortable knowing I have been in good hands. As long as my vision improves and I don't have to wear contacts or glasses, I can't complain!
