*This review is for Adult Medicine*…read more Drove my mom to SW Medical today, 4/10/2026, for blood work and a doctor appointment. My Mom has to use her double wide manual wheelchair for appointments instead of her electric wheelchair because RTC Paratransit doesn't pick up in my neighborhood (she lives with me). The manual chair is so wide that she has to stand up and use her walker to get through the doors to the exam rooms, I have to fold the chair to get it through the door, and then, once we're through the door, I open the chair so she can sit back down. It really wears her out. By the time we got upstairs to Adult Medicine for her doctor appointment, she was completely pooped. The nurse who called her back, got two other nurses to assist us getting from the waiting room to the back. After the appointment, there were literally like 5 people- nurses and doctors- who came to assist my Mom out of the room. Two nurses then escorted us to the service elevator and out the ambulance entrance so Mom wouldn't have to stand up again to get back into the main lobby. They also pushed her to the car and helped her get in the car. I just want to commend the staff in the Adult Medicine department. You made my Mom's day. She said she felt like she was getting the VIP treatment. These days, that kind of customer service in medical establishments is rare. Thank you and may God bless you all!

Not even deserving of one star. Dr. Maligaya with OB/GYN is horrible. Very rude, very…read moreunprofessional, very passive aggressive. I had a C-section for my first baby on the 24th and was told by my delivering doctor that I would need to be seen by an MD within the same week to have my bandage removed and incision looked at. My primary OB office (Sienna) didn't have any appointments available with any of the MDs so I had to go to this grand montecito location. This location is a 40 minute drive for me mind you. After being taken to the exam room and talking with the nurse, we overheard the nurse and Dr. Maligaya questioning why I was in office and saying that I am being seen way too early. She didn't even want to see me and had the nurse come in to tell me that I shouldn't be seen for another 2 weeks and to turn me away. I informed her that I was told by my delivering doctor that I needed to be seen by an MD the same week and I was just following instruction. I was also attached to a battery powered suction device underneath my bandage that only had a 5 day battery life. The nurse leaves the room and Dr. Maligaya walks in, again, questioning why I was there in the first place. I told her as I told the nurse that I was just following the direction of my delivering doctor and my incision needs to be checked and the suction device needs to be removed. After going back and forth for a bit, she smacked the exam bed and said "well let's go, let's remove it then". My husband had to step in and tell her that we are just going to leave because she clearly was very rude, wasn't listening to me or believing me about the instructions I was following from my delivering doctor, and made me feel like she didn't know what she was doing. I drove the 40 minutes to this location 4 days after my C-section, in pain, with a newborn just to be treated like this. Never going to this location or seeing this doctor again.

Dr. Perez-Tselikis aka Dr. Perez or Dr. Jackie Perez has been my children's pediatrician since…read moretheir birth. After my son turned a year old, she had him checked through a simple blood test for Fragile X Syndrome (long story), in which he was diagnosed after results coming back positive! I can bet most pediatrician In THE NATION don't even know or the very least think of Fragile X Syndrome! I bet if I had another doctor, they would have probably just given my son the general "Autism Spectrum Disorder" (ASD) diagnosis, which many if not most often do, and would go as far as to say, some, if not a good deal, may actually have Fragile X Syndrome (FXS), which is, actually the number one genetic cause of Autism, or even something else, but had never had the adequate medical guidance to be checked! Dr. Perez caught this at one year of age, helping me start a regimen of therapies and not losing precious time! She always answers our questions and concerns, and is patient with us. At times she might be quick with her prognosis, but it's only due to 30+ years of experience in the practice, and has seen just about everything. Plus, if we have any concerns or doubts, she is flexible and pro active in covering any needed bases. As a mother, I worry, and Dr. Perez is always there to make sure my children are healthy and doing well, or if any modifications need to be made, or if they're sick, quickly get a plan of action going to get them better as soon as possible. We've been with her for well over a decade, so I think I can speak candidly regarding her review. Additionally, her nurses are wonderful, and the staff is helpful, friendly and kind. Yes, during peek seasons, predominantly winter, there might be a bit of a hold on the phone to schedule an appointment, and likewise have a bit longer wait in the waiting room, but during those times, it's something to be expected not just at Desert Valley Pediatrics, but clinics (adults too) in general. However, I usually can schedule an appointment on the phone in less than 10 minutes, and our wait times don't usually exceed anything more than 10-15 minutes, it just all depends on the day and the demand- good doctors might run late because they actually care and take the necessary time with each patient- good doctors are worth the wait, and Dr. Perez is worth the visit. The facilities at each of the three locations I've been to are separated by well and sick waiting rooms, which is nice, but then you get called to the back and at times have to pass by other patients, so nothing, of course, is 100% separated. The murals throughout each clinic are beautifully painted and create a nice distraction for some, however some of the rooms are in need of a deep clean (walls, baseboards, etc. - things not quickly noted on a daily basis), but overall are generally clean and well maintained. Overall, I strongly recommend Dr. Perez and Desert Valley Pediatrics, who have other good physicians worth looking into, especially when/if Dr. Perez is away and you need a back up doctor. ;) Hope this helps. :)

The only down side is her office at Desert Valley Peds, sometimes it's a roll of the dice on the waiting times. Sometimes it 30 mins sometimes it 1 1/2 hours. Busy like any other peds office. But staff is always nice and friendly.

She has a way of making you feel seen, heard, and completely supported during such an important time. This may be TMI to some, but it was beautifully life-changing for me, when I gave birth to both of my sons, she allowed me to reach down, grab them, and bring them up to my chest myself. It was the most amazing, heartfelt moment I will never forget. With my last baby, she had told me she might be on call, and I was so worried because I wanted only her to deliver my baby. Somehow, she made it happen. I truly believe my son waited for her, the second she walked into the room, it was go time! Her dedication and genuine care for her patients goes far beyond the medical side, she cared for me and my family in a way that I will forever be grateful for. She and her team are truly the best.

The first doctor I saw was Dr. McLemore, he is very respectful, calm, and has great bedside manners. Although I was initially nervous about seeing multiple doctors instead of sticking with just one, I'm actually very glad I did because it allowed me to get to know several of them. I can honestly say that every doctor I encountered was amazing, compassionate, and supportive. Dr. Agosto was incredibly sweet and had such a fun, uplifting personality. Dr. Moody was also very kind, compassionate, and patient. When my baby showed signs of distress, she immediately took action and made the decision to induce me. I truly felt seen and heard by her, which meant so much during such a vulnerable time. Dr. Kasar delivered my baby, and she is absolutely amazing. She is calm, understanding, compassionate, and soft-spoken. It's clear that she genuinely cares about her patients and the quality of care she provides. Erika at checkout was wonderful, she communicated clearly while helping me navigate my disability process and consistently provided great customer service during checkout. I did experience a small issue during one visit when I was running about 15 minutes late. I called ahead and was told it was okay to still come in. However, when I arrived, the woman at the front desk on the right was a bit standoffish. I explained that I had called ahead and that I was dealing with pelvic pain and walked as fast as I could, but there was no compassion shown. I did file a complaint with Liz, who was very understanding and apologized for the interaction. Liz was also extremely on top of my disability forms, kept me informed throughout the process, and was overall very helpful. Thank you, Liz, for all your support. Overall, my experience at this office was great. I would absolutely recommend this practice 10/10 and I'm very grateful for the care I received from the doctors and staff.
