Firstly they scared my fiancé so badly when they told us that we would have to sigh a waiver that it was that CRITICAL that they change the brake pads. Secondly as most know that the rear brakes are the easiest to change and are actually the ones that you use the least. They had NEVER made a sound as far as the squeaking inserts are concerned. Thirdly charging over $350 in my opinion is just nothing but gouging the customer. You can walk in any auto supply shop and get the top of the line brake pad kit for about $125. In my opinion $225 markup and labor is just taking advantage of the customer. They only warranty their work for 30,000 the other pads from the supply stores come with a life time warranty. I used to love and rave about this place--I brought three or more cars here to get service. But after my recent experiences, I'll have to find another shop. I've been dealing with the same issue for 2-3 months, yet they kept "finding" other areas to fix instead of addressing the actual problem. The phone representative has been completely disrespectful the last two days. I had my throttle bodies replaced, only to find out later that the wrong parts were installed. After going back and forth with Speedy's, paying for tows and Ubers just to get around, I finally had my car towed to the dealership on June 3rd. The dealership confirmed that Speedy's installed the incorrect part, which ended up costing me around $250. When I called the warranty company, they told me that Speedy's reported having used the correct part. I called Speedy's to follow up on June 6th, and the representative immediately got an attitude, saying, "I can fix the cable to prove a point." I explained that the dealership had already fixed a loose cable but the bigger issue was the incorrect parts. He claimed he had already ordered and received the correct parts and was ready to install them. However, when I called again on Monday, June 9th for an update, I was told they were still waiting on parts. When I brought up his earlier statement, he started yelling at me. I asked him to stop yelling, and he hung up on me. I will not work with a shop that treats the customers like this. I will be following up with legal actions. If I could use my warranty at a different shop, I would--but because of their mistake, I either have to continue dealing with them or pay out of pocket. I'm totally dissatisfied and disappointed in how far this shop has declined.

Tommy just came through for us again. My son Eric was driving the old Tahoe and started noticing a coolant leak. He diagnosed it as a water pump and we gave Eric the number for Quantum. Tommy took it in, diagnosed it as a shot water pump and gave me a quote with options for replacing with an original Chevy part or a less expensive aftermarket that he knew to be reliable. Frankly, the quote was hundreds less than I expected. I am a fairly decent mechanic and would gladly pay his quoted price. He got the work done the day he was able to diagnose the problem. On time, exactly as quoted and functioning perfectly. I have recommended Quantum to friends for a decade and they all agree that you get honest work done right at a fair price. Took my 2006…read moreMonte Carlo SS to the local Arlington Chevrolet dealership figuring since my car is a Chevy, they'd know the most about it. Engine wasn't starting immediately after turning the key. They performed their analysis and recommended a new starter and battery cables, for which they wanted to charge me $1,400+. I previously had the MC there for the same problem and, after $400+ in analysis charges, it was a $20 gas cap. Wanting a second opinion, I scheduled an appointment with Quantum. Due to their high volume of work, I had to wait 2-1/2 weeks, but the wait was well worth it. Tommy, the owner, looked at the battery cables and starter and said there was no problem with them. However, apparently some General Motors vehicles have this starting problem. Not enough fuel is getting to the fuel injectors when the key is turned. He pressure-checked the fuel pump and found it to be the problem. Rather than spending $1,200+, he showed me how to ensure the injectors have enough fuel so the engine will start on the first turn of the key. I've had cars serviced over 50+ years and Tommy is the first mechanic that took his time to fully explain the issue and the solution. He knows what he's doing and most importantly, he's honest. You can't go wrong with Quantum Mechanix.
