The service here is above and beyond. The owner gives you suggestions to upkeep on your car but doesn't push you on it. Everything gets done in a timely fashion. And I'm a young woman and I always feel nervous usually when I go by myself to get stuff done for my car but they always make sure I get taken care of. Had to get parts for my Nissan and he had me call him when I got there to make sure I got the right ones. This is easily one of the strangest encounters I have ever had as a customer. I have been coming here getting oil changes for about 3 years now. I decided to let them change a belt today. Called in advance. After waiting for about an hour asked about the delay. Manager Juan started yelling at me telling me to stop pressuring him and then put my old belt on. I never raised my voice I wasn't mad. He told me I didn't need to act mad he could tell I was judging him and he was a good person. I left confused and still needing a belt. read more

I needed to get my car inspected since end of November and with everything else going on right before Christmas, it's taken me a while to get it done. When I see the "State Inspection Sticker" at the Kwik Kar center on my way home from school. I pull right in! I was even more pleased when the attendant told me it would only be 15-20 minutes! The guy went to work and I took a seat. I was surprised when the cashier told me he wanted to talk to me in the bay. I walked over there and he told me that my car wouldn't pass the inspection with a brake light out but he could replace the bulb. Ok, no problem. So I went to sit back down. Once again they call me out there.... This time he figured out that it wasn't the bulb but the wiring that was out. He couldn't fix that but he agreed to "rig it" so it would pass. Yippee! He even took the time to show me the casing that was slipping so I would know what needed replacing later. That should only take another month for me to do!! All in all it ended up taking 45 minutes, but they only charged me for the inspection and I rolled away with my nice shiny new sticker! Now when I get pulled over for talking on my cell while driving, at least I won't get a ticket for expired tags lol read more

0 Stars if I could. Completely took advantage of young girls not knowing about the car. I brought my sister here because I told her it was a good place. I've never paid more than $40 in my own car but today the OWNER was so rude and charged her an up charge for synthetic oil just because we weren't sure what kind of oil the car used. Didn't let us know the up charge before doing the oil change. Before you go here just know he is THAT kind of mechanic that takes advantage when they get the chance. Do not recommend this place. I will NEVER come to get my oil change here again. There is an older man (initials SG) and he was so rude the entire time to me and my husband and had the biggest attitude towards us. First off when we pulled up he told us to drive into the bay (I was driving super slow) and screams "SLOW DOWN". Ok if you don't like the way I drive you drive the car in!! Second, we are in the waiting room and he comes and and yells "OWNER of the Jeep" you would think we were in trouble for something I swear. I look confused so he says to me "are you the owner or is he??". Of course he tried to sell my husband all kinds of things that were unnecessary! Anyways, very rude employees! In early Dec. 2012, I took my elderly dad to this location to get his truck inspected. That service was quick and successful. The mechanic who inspected the truck took it upon himself to also check the other fluid levels and then informed us that the brake fluid was "black and needs to be replaced" He offered a "brake fluid flush service". I asked if it was required for passing the inspection and he said, "No, it's preventative maintenance". My father told the mechanic that he had just had his brakes replaced... "... shouldn't that have been handled then?" "No, some shops don't mess with it." I asked how long the service would take and he answered, "About 5 minutes". My Dad decided to go ahead. I watched the mechanic complete the service, since, he moved the truck to the first bay (adjacent to the customer waiting area). It entailed spraying some part under the hood with a part loosener and then pouring fluid into the reservoir. It was, indeed, completed in about 5 minutes and we were asked to go inside to pay for the services. After ringing up the bill he said, "comes to 162.03" We were flabbergasted, to put it mildly... $120.00 for topping off the reservoir!!!! When we protested he inquired if we had asked how much the service would cost. I hadn't. "Well, you should've asked." It may have been smart for me to ask, but if this "service" company gave ANY real weight to customer service they would be certain to inform a customer of such an expensive charge. I noticed a sign inside that advertised $109 for transmission fluid flush and I know that is a much more involved service. An oil change requires raising the car on a lift ... working underneath the vehicle, draining and storing used oil, lowering the car and then adding 4+ quarts ... time and resource consuming... yet is less than $40.00. Given those costs --- it's logical for me to expect a $30 or $40 charge (especially since the guy who suggested it never even mentioned the high cost). The mechanic at the register was condescending and patronizing. He admonished us for not asking, saying we had to accept half of the responsibility for the situation. To which I pointed out that they had a greater responsibility to their customers if they wanted folks to come back or refer others. He made a show of saying something to the mechanic who had sold the service and then said he would give us a '$30 discount", scolding us again for not asking. We paid $90.00 for the "flush" plus the cost of the inspection. A couple of days later I sent an email inquiry to the corporate office asking for a description of the service and the cost. I received an email response explaining that the "brake fluid flush" service required draining the brake line at each tire and was priced at $89.99!! So, we were initially overcharged $30 ... and then that was discounted to the regular price .... but the work was never actually done. AND, to add insult to injury, the guy scolded us for falling into their trap !! If there is a lesson here its that it was foolish to trust these guys to consider the customer as anything but a mark for their scam. We will never go back and will retell our experience whenever the subject comes up. These folks only managed to create energized and extremely dissatisfied customers. I will also be pursuing legal options. read more

I went in for an oil change, which took nearly 30 minutes. Then, when I tried to pay by credit card, the employee swiped my card 4 times before realizing it was out of paper, which subsequently charged my card all 4 times. It took him another hour to find paper, program the machine, and charge me for the services. When I took in my credit card statement, they assured me the charges would be removed within two days; they were not, and I was forced to waste more time calling the shop trying to resolve the issue. The very next day following my oil change, my check engine light illuminated. I took it back and was told my vehicle was running hot, and "when was the last time you serviced your radiator". I had a second opinion, and was told the complete opposite. This shop lacks customer service etiquette, and will make-up phony issues with your vehicle in order to steal more of the customers' hard-earned money, which is better spent elsewhere. read more

I took my pickup in for an oil change. They brought me a dirty air filter while waiting. I said to change it thinking it was the engine air filter. At checkout time the bill was $85.00! I complained to the manager. They actually changed the cabin air filter. A filter that costs $10 at the auto parts store. They unhappily removed the air filter and adjusted the bill. By way of thanks, they slopped motor oil all over my floor mats. Then, 2 or 3 days later, I see an oil pool under my vehicle in the garage, they have installed the wrong oil filter and oil is leaking out around the gasket. The entire engine compartment and the undercarriage is now coated in oil. When I checked the oil level there was only 3 quarts left in the engine. WARNING: DO NOT PATRONIZE THESE BASTARDS. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND DENY DOING IT. I have posted this complaint all over the net and will contact the BBB next. read more

I use Kwik Kar Lube and Tune when I need my oil changed or an inspection sticker. The manager James is amazing as well as the rest of the staff. These guys don't lie to me, are try to jip me because I'm a women and don't know about cars. They always take me out to my car to show me what my car needs and how long I have to get it fixed. They are awesome. I would not go anywhere else. I tell the guys there that they are my husbands because I don't have a guy to do that stuff to my car. They are all very sweet and respectful. I went to Kwik Kar on Christmas Eve. I needed to get my car inspected before hitting the road to see family in Louisiana. I'd gone to two other places in Pasadena to get my car inspected and one was closed and the other said they no longer did inspections. When I arrived at Kwik Kar I was quickly greeted by a tall hispanic male that said he could quickly assist me. (Sorry for using ethnicity as a description, but I forgot his name) I got my wife and kids out of the car and entered the waiting area. 5 Minutes later another employee approached me (Caucasian Male kind of buff; again I apologize) He said that I needed to have a fuse changed in order for the machine to work, BUT he would have to charge me $40 to have the fuses SWITCHED out. He said because the fuses were located "Under the floor panel" it would cost this much! REALLY??? I said this was BULL (I did not use profanity) and left with my family. I quickly called back and demanded to speak with the owner, however she was not there. The employee I spoke with said that he understood why I was upset and stated that he has swapped out fuses for customers all the time - AT NO CHARGE. Needless to say they will NEVER get my business again and considering that Firestone, Pepboys and other Oil and Lube shops are nearby I suggest you don't shop there either!!! read more

Absolute con-artists!! I went there for an oil change in my three year old Toyota SUV. The everyday price at this establishment for an oil change is $27.99 + $2.00 environmental fee + tax. After the oil change was completed and I went to the counter to pay my bill, the total came out to $47.00. After inquiring why the price was inflated, I was told that 1) My SUV required a "special" oil filter that costs $8.00 extra and 2) They put 6.4 quarts of oil (only the first 5.0 quarts are included). After calling Toyota, I learned that this model SUV does not have any "special" or "different" oil filter AND the oil reservoir holds a maximum of 5.0 quarts. As my SUV has 55000 miles on it and I've changed the oil every 5000 miles, I have had the oil changed 10 times without incident. This was the first and last time I will be using these con-artists. DO NOT PURCHASE SERVICES FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT...YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!!! read more
