The jerk chicken and rice and peas had the PERFECT amount of seasoning and heat. Doesn't take long to get your food either :) I will 100% be back to try the curry chicken/oxtail/fish dishes. I cannot wait There's not a whole lot of parking but you can park just up the road to the right of the truck. Also Vinny is a super cool+friendly guy who likes talking about sports! I believe they're closed on the weekends too so make sure you get there during the week. Promise you will enjoy it!

We were planning to go to Coki beach anyhow and we love good Caribbean fish so we came here on our way home from the beach. We were told to call ahead and tell Vinny what we wanted so he could start making it because it's made fresh - it takes at least an hour to make. We wanted red snapper, he only had yellowtail snapper that day but it was still really good! We ordered two meals which come with the whole cooked fish, rice and peas, and plantains. We took it back to our airbnb and had it with some cooked vegetables - it was enough for two meals for each me and my mother, and this was $70 in total, so not a bad deal! If it puts things in perspective, I read online that Brooke's bar has the best food on the island. I tried Brooke's a couple days after I came here (also ordered snapper there) - genuinely I did not notice a difference between here and the food from Brooke's, it's all just tasty! And if anything, I actually preferred Vinny's because he had the food ready when he said it would be ready, whereas when we called Brooke's 2 hours early and they said the food would be ready, it was NOT. There was a little picnic table here if you wanted to sit and eat, but we didn't. Otherwise there isn't a whole lot of ambiance, it's just along the road that leads to Coki beach.

ROADSIDE TREAT As…read moreyou travel around the island of St Thomas you will encounter roadside restaurants hidden everywhere. This is one of those places. It is located east of the Food Center grocery store. This is a place where the locals eat. As you drive up in your rental car, they will totally know you're not a local. Do not be afraid and miss out where the locals eat. You will see a bunch of outdoor tables and a food truck that is now a non moving kitchen. There is a wooden staircase located at the back door of the truck. As you make your way up the stairs you will see a glass case with already cooked food. It will totally be hard to see the food past the steamy glass but the owner is brilliant. She uses a window squeegee to clean the steam off the windows. You will now have a totally clear view of all the food she has. It is typical Caribbean stewed meats like chicken, goat & fish. A plate of chicken with rice costs only $10. If you want goat or fish with rice it will set you back $12. You can also add on a Johnny Cake for just $1. Two sisters make all of the food and they have been in business for seven years which means that they are doing something right. So next time you find yourself on a winding road in St Thomas keep your eyes open and stay on the left side because these hidden culinary adventures exist everywhere. Everything doesn't have to be twenty bucks a plate and this place is a perfect example.

The guy helping run the truck, originally from Florida, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He took time to chat with us, told us more about the food truck, showed us a nice nearby spot to sit and eat, and even introduced us to his nephew who also helps run the truck. On my first visit I tried the oxtails, mac & cheese, and passion fruit juice. They were out of the beef patties and rice & peas because it was a busy cruise day, but he promised to save us some for the next day -- and he actually did! We came back the following day and sure enough, he had beef patties waiting for us. The oxtails were honestly some of the best I've ever had super flavorful and tender. The mac & cheese was amazing, and the beef patties were very filling. I ordered two and could barely finish one. The passion fruit juice was a little sweet for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. If I'm ever back in St. Thomas or Fort Lauderdale, I'll definitely be visiting again. The food and hospitality were just that good!

The drinks are a little pricier, but taking into account you're in the middle of a national park with not much around, the prices make sense. Drinks absolutely delicious - we loved the pina colada! They have plenty of seating, so you can either stay and enjoy or take your drinks back to the beach across the street. I'm not sure if they're related or not, but there is a little food shop little right next to it with the same available seating. As with the drinks, food there is a little pricier but take into account where you are. We ordered the mahi bites. Absolutely delicious. Fish was solid enough to pick up but flaked apart in your mouth. Would totally order again. Great place to stop when you're enjoying the beach at Maho Bay.

When I returned them, he ran the tab on my credit card and said the total was $49.20, which was $8 more than it should have been. I asked him why it was so high and he said sales tax. I told him I didn't think sales tax was charged on St. John and he said it was charged everywhere in the Virgin Islands. Very suspicious, I left and waited for the receipt to come through text. The receipt showed that the $8 was a tip that Desitin had added without my knowledge. I went back and comfronted him and told him I know what he did and I don't appreciate it and I would be letting managagement know, then walked away. He chased me down and handed me $10 and said he wanted to "makes things right", but then proceeded to gaslight me into thinking this was all my fault. He said I should be grateful that he didn't double charge me on the rental. What??? I have tried to contact management, but I guess they don't want anyone to send complaints. The two phone numbers I found and one email address are total dead ends.
