I dropped it off here and the guy who fixed it texted me later and explained what the issues were and also offered assistance with other miscellaneous things (normally other PC shops charge extra for this). Being a student in Waterloo without a car, picking it up wasn't exactly feasible in the snow. I asked him if he could drop it off and perhaps have a look at my SSD (which came AFTER I gave him the PC) At my place, he set up the SSD and left. Not long after, I let him know I was having trouble installing the OS on the SSD. He offered to stop by and take a look at it, and of course fixed it. (It turns out that the computer was only recognizing one of the drives) This was all for a flat rate of 80$~. Overall, this was the best experience I've had at a PC repair shop. Highly suggest going here especially with newer builds.

The worst customer experience I have ever had…read more Having water damaged my laptop I brought it in too see if it could be fixed. My laptop was still working but would crash randomly. I was told it would cost around $20 to investigate and once they figured out the issue they would contact me and ask me how I wanted to proceed. About a week later I received a call from Computer Service Depot telling me the laptop was fixed and ready for pickup. I found out they went ahead and did $135 worth of work without ever calling me, but I actually didn't mind at all as long as the laptop was working. According to them, it just hadn't been given enough time to dry out. For the $135 they backed up my data reinstalled windows 10, and did an extensive list of diagnostic checks on the laptop. However, my laptop had a Linux partition which they did not back up, so I lost a significant portion of my data in this process. The worst part was that the laptop hardware had not been fixed at all (which was the only thing that was broken) and the laptop would still crash. I took my laptop in again, once more they couldn't find anything.

Nice reception, questionable technical handling, and very poor business practice. I brought in a…read morephone with a broken screen still worked. I got it back completely dead and with more damages. Try other places first if you can... My screen was broken but mostly functional, with a sturdy screen protector intact. Based on the high Google reviews and their many years in business, I brought it here along with a third-party replacement screen. The receptionist checked the phone and told me they would fix it in 2-3 hours. Three hours later, a technician called saying the replacement screen wasn't very good and the repair would be risky. Fair enough--I told him NOT to proceed and simply return the phone as it was. Things went downhill quickly from there... When I picked up the phone, the SIM card tray was missing. They later found it at their workstation. That already raised concerns about how carefully my phone had been handled. The main problem? The phone was now COMPLETELY DEAD. From what it appears, they tried pull the screen proctector forcefully and damaged the screen underneath. Their even left their fingerprints underneath the screen protector (so they tried pulling it off by hand with all the tools they have?!) I went back to ask what had been done--not to argue, but so I could explain it to another technician. They repeatedly insisted that "nothing was done," but couldn't explain why the SIM tray had been removed or how fingerprints got underneath the screen protector. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps they started assessing the repair, realized it was too risky, and stopped. I could understand that. What I couldn't accept was returning the phone in a clearly much worse condition while insisting nothing had been done. Both the receiption lady and the technician seem younge for a 10+ business. Perhaps the staff has changed--I don't know..I just find their denial and lying fell far below the usual business practice. I can understand it from a business perspective (to avoid responsibility). But the customer experience was poor, to say the least. Maybe my experience is unusual. I just thought this one negative experience is worth sharing too...
