This is our delivery spot for Greek. We have ordered a couple of times. I'd say 2/4 times our order was not exactly what we ordered, not bad just not what we ordered. This latest time we ordered gyro platter and got an inexplicable grilled chicken instead. I got what I wanted, the shrimp skewer with rice and the orders come with little side salads (which have suffered a bit of shrinkflation in the last few months). Good amount of shrimp to the order. Have tried the avgolemono, it was satisfying. Have tried the desserts, also good. A side of tzatziki was depressingly forgotten. The salad was well seasoned to my taste, which does not happen often. The portion was huge. The pitta was warm and lovely. Wish they did not forget to put the tzatziki, so I could have tried it. Fries were okay, just regular fries sprinkled with cheese and for that you pay $1.50 extra. I really enjoyed this Greek spot. The gyros are really good and the vegan options are amazing. The prices are fair and definitely worth its price. I will be coming back here for more. The platter came with 4 pita triangles and a teeny tiny salad. They got two ordered mixed up and forgot the Horiatiki salad for one of the orders. So I had to give my salad to my mother to complete the meal. I only ate the meat. The salad that was suppose to be mine, I gave it to my mother and the salad were overly wilted with salad dressing. All the meats that we got were flavorful but over cooked. The portions were really, really skimpy and probably only enough for two people. I counted 10 roasted potato wedges. That means each person got 1.5 potato wedges. The total amount of rice was about 2 cups. Each person got about 1/2 cup of rice. The french fries were about 3 cups. We were all hungry after spending $200.00 on food. Never ordering from there again. First time ordering from the restaurant and I have to say I'm very disappointed. I ordered several items and there was an issue with a salad and a platter. The salad was missing stuffed grape leaves, which clearly states on the menu it comes with it. Then, I was supposed to get a Greek pork gyro and I received grilled chicken. I called the restaurant right away and the girl came off very rude. first she tried to convince me the salad has grape leaves. I told there is not one grape leaf in my salad. Then she tries to convince me that my platter is not chicken when clearly it looks and tastes like chicken. Not once was there any apology for the missing grape leaves or for my platter, all she said, " well, what do you want me to do" in a very disrespectful manner. Not really sure why the reviews for this place are so low. I heard some people say delivery times could be problematic but I had no issues? In fact, the guy came half an hour early and food was definitely still warm and fresh. Then again, I placed my order at 5 pm on a Monday so maybe I just ordered at a good time. Regarding the food, it's pretty typical Greek fare. I ordered the gyro and had no complaints: good meat-to-pita ratio, right amount of sauce, decent size. Delivery took close to 2 hours with no prior warning of it taking so long By the time my food arrived it was cold and the bag was soaked in oil/ grease. Salad- it was drenched in salad dressing and seems to have been made ages ago as the lettuce was mushy. The cucumbers and olive had no bite and crunch they were all soggy. We try the Spanakopita, Gyro Sandwich, and Chicken Souvlaki. The Spanakopita had a crispy crust and well seasoned. The feta cheese was not overpowering. Gyro Sandwich is a little disappointed. I cant believe it took me so long to find this place! My girlfriends and I love to try new restaurants, so we decided to give Kuzina a try since it had good reviews and we were not disappointed. The decor in this place is magnificent, the wooden tables and wooden sidings on the walls made me forget I was in Staten Island. The Edison Light bulbs are a perfect touch as well, overall a very comfortable setting. It isn't too big and seems to fill up for the evening, so a reservation is definitely a good idea. Now lets get on to the food. For appetizers, we had hummus, octopus, and my favorite, spanakopita. They were all absolutely amazing, we cleaned our plates. I had the lamb chops with lemon potatoes as per the waiters recommendation. I don't think I've ever eaten this much, I just couldn't put my fork down, it was that good. My friend had the Pasticio, a greek lasagna which was massive! The salads are also very clearly fresh and yummy. Had no room for desserts but they sounded great, so will be saving space for that next time. Service was also great, fast but not rushed. Waiter seemed to know every single detail on the menu which is always a good thing. Very attentive and friendly, and not to mention easy on the eyes too! Will be going back in the near future. The best Tzaziki I've tried. I've been to another Greek place on Hylan, near midland and on Plaka in Brooklyn and the Taverna kyclades in the east village, I also got Tzaziki in Costco as well. They're all either soupy, too salty or just not fresh. Kuzina nailed it because I know they use fresh ingredients and the yogurt was strained so it has that fluffy taste. Just ordered delivery and writing as I eat. Let's see. The delivery itself came on time, within an hour after I placed my order, but it still got cold by the time it got here. Their tzatziki sauce was great despite the food being bad to mediocre. Opened the bag and got a nice scent, so I had great expectations. It just went downhill from there. In the order I opened them in: The greek style fries were soggy. I understand that is to be expected with fried foods and take out, but they can always rethink their packaging. There is a reason you don't put fried food in an aluminum container with a lid. All the heat from the fries are bound to make it soggy. Taste-wise, it's pretty plain. They have salt, pepper, and ketchup packets on the side, so You can use those if anything, but seriously, the fries were nothing special. I don't think I'll be finishing it. The price was cheap for a lot of fries, and did I mention it was a small? The bifteki souvlaki stick looked really depressing. It was literally just a meat patty with a wedge of lemon in the container. Maybe add a piece of lettuce underneath at least for decoration? Trust me, it will make it a happier piece of meat. Alone, it seriously tastes like a hamburger patty. Thank god it comes with the tzatziki sauce. If there is a god, he granted that poor soul of a patty tzatziki sauce. Good job chef for including the sauce, and that was probably the only thing you did right. The oktapodi was a complete disaster. The dish itself is really just some burnt octopus tentacles laying on a puddle of oil. I was skeptical to taste it when it smelt burnt the second I opened the container. There is literally no taste besides burnt. It's so bland that I'm wondering if there was a point to adding spices to it. If you don't know how to cook octopus correctly, please don't bother putting it on your menu. Especially if it costs $14.75 for this pile of nonsense. I guess another dish going to the trash for me. Finally, the chicken gyro platter. That was probably the best one of the four dishes, but when something is the best out of bad food, it's not going to be any good either. The chicken was pretty bland. The salad was alright, but nothing great about it. I liked the cucumbers and lettuce! The rice was just sloppy, both in look and taste. I did add in some of that tzatziki sauce after tasting it with the bifteki, and it made it a lot better. Overall, a disappointment and waste of money. Another one of my favorite Greek spots on the island! My bf and I decided to order the Greek style gyro platter, vegetarian spinach (Spanakopita) platter, dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), lemon potatoes and salad which I believe came with the entrees. I was a fan of my vegetarian options! The crust of the Spanakopita was perfectly golden brown and crunchy yet still retained all the delicious flavors! The grape leaves were by far my favorite, it had a zesty flavor to it as did the potatoes. Can't comment for the meat but the bf loved it.
