Easy to book online. Booking online is only with Roland. They have 1 other guy who works here and I guess you have to call to see if he has any availabilities. I had a 1pm haircut and was on the chair by 110, so not much of a wait. It was a good haircut. I told him what I wanted and he proceeded to go in that direction. High fade, hard part on the right, comb over to the left. Took him about 30ish minutes to complete. Very good at what he does. Steps back multiple times to see if it's all even. Gentle and efficient with his cuts. The hard part is slightly too wide. Will specify next time not to have it so large. But it's straight and clean. Wish the fade was higher but again I didn't specify. What's important is that it's even and it looks good. No razor burns noted to the back side. Conversational. Easy to talk too. A little opinionated, but everyone's entitled to their opinions. He even gave me a brief neck/back massage which was really nice. Total bill was $28, with tip was $35. Haven't paid those prices vack home since prepandemic. So that was nice to see. For that price and the quality of the cut, I will definitely be back!! Just make sure you make an appointment, or you'll possibly be waiting for a while. read more

1st time trying out this shop today, had appt with Roland. He was right on time and in n out in about 30min which is perfect. Took his time on my fade but didnt waste time. Do yourself a favor and save your time and money by not going to this shop. The barbers are very unprofessional and there is no organized line. I would describe the shop as akin to one that would be in your local county jail or juvenile detention center; the inside is dirty and the haircut tools are dirty. I would be afraid of contracting lice from their equipment to be honest. Whoever goes to the barber first, gets a haircut first, regardless if you have been sitting and waiting in the shop. I even made eye contact with a few of the barbers but they did not even acknowledge me that I was next. I don't know why it took me so much time to find a barber, yesterday I decided to drive and get my hair done at Kustom Cuts. They did a great job, my barber was a pro and will be my regular because she totally gets what a single male is looking for with their cut. The shop is clean, the environment is family friendly because she's a great family woman running the shop. Sorry for forgetting her name, she's fast and willing to take her time to get you the best hair cut. I saw another barber in his twenties, he was totally cool too and his cuts were top tier! Visited Kustom Cuts this afternoon to get both of my sons hair cut. Sylvia was the only barber in at the time and was cutting one persons hair ahead of us. We waited about 15 minutes, which was totally fine... less time then anywhere else. As for the cuts, she did a GREAT job. My oldest has sensory problems with his hair, and she was able to give him the best cut he's probably ever had. My youngest wanted "Johnny Cash" hair and she was able to deliver and make his day. Great service & atmosphere. The shop is nice, clean and pretty laid back. 3 out of the 4 barbers accept walk-ins and the other (Roland who is also the owner of the shop) only does appointments. I needed a hair cut so I stopped by here before going back home. I got my hair cut from the barber who was from L.A. and let me just say to anyone who does business here to stay away from him. He does not follow directions, is very unorganized and work space is filthy and he is a sensitive man like an angry girlfriend who didn't get her way. Did i mention he uses the cheapest products he can find. He is not a barber and I called him out on it. I was clearly unhappy with my haircut and because of that he charged me $16 dollars. That was way to expensive for a very bad cut. Sadly I did not have that much so I did whatever I could to call somebody to bring me the rest but then my phone died. Anyways the owner saw, came over and told me he would pay the difference. He also told me that I should not worry about it and to have a great week. This is the reason why I am writing the review. This is why I am giving him 5 stars. He is someone I could trust and do business with. I encourage anybody from Bakersfield to come see Roland and maybe the guy with the glasses for a haircut.
